It was a very good ride yesterday. Definately not for the inexperienced or moderate trail rider.
The first climb was wicked. Very steep and loose rock everywhere. I came around a corner and Wild was hung up on a root with Rancher next to him. I did a little trail breaking through the trees so I wouldn't loose my momentum.
It was VERY dusty in many areas of the trail. Great views of the Cascades and Mount Rainier.
Going down the other side it looked like the climp back up would be real tough but if you picked your line right and just cruised along it was OK.
I definately will not take Cindy on that trail. She would hate it and there are parts she wouldn't even want to try.
I will not be making the ride on the 29th. My friends Mom's Celebration of Life is going to be that day. Glad I rode the trail yesterday!

Just wants to get a 35 foot 5th wheel, no slide outs with the generator. The guy gave justin a price, so we are doing are best to pay off some bills, so we can get it. If we want to get it before we go hunting, we have 2 months because it takes 8 weeks to build. We are just going to get a brand new one, since we will have it for a very long time. I can't remember if it is RV town or Great American RV that you can trade in basically anything. they take chain saws, motorcycle's, quads, etc. Also I recommend that if you do get a weekend warrior do some history on it. I have done alot and have looked at all of the 5th wheel toyhaulers and the weekend warrior is the one that is the strongest. Also the salesman told justin that the weekend warriors hold there value more than any other toyhauler. They are the first to make the weekend warrior. The salesman told justin that in a 7 year range the weekend warrior toyhaulers only lose about a 30% value.

Just FYI, I know where there are two WW LE3305's and one LE3505. All 2007 models. One 33 has the aluminum siding, the other has the hard side.
Great American RV in Fife has the two 33's, and Uhlmann RV in Chehalis has the 35 (they had a 33 but a guy bought it as I was just pulling in).
If you want any info on them, ask away. I've spent a long time sitting in them img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>They all have, generator, fill station, dual rear bunks, etc etc.
If he likes the 35, I think he would like the 33 also. There really isn't much difference.

Tomorrow I may decide to get one of the 33's..........
Or I may get the new Raptor 3812 with the 14' garage.
Really like both. Would love the WW, but the garage is very very very appealing to me. Even though it's 39 freaking feet long.
I can get that for right about the same price as the WW LE3305.
If you are a good hard a$$ negotiator, You should be able to pick up a WW LE3305 for right around $41,000, give or take a little of course.
I've seen a couple priced right around there on rvtrader.com recently, not sure what's on there right now.

The guy at RV Town told me the are not ordering any more 5th wheels, but that I could order one. He told me it would take about 4 months to get it though.
Not sure what's up with that.

Anyway, good luck............

Thanks for the info, i will let Justin know. The guy that Justin talked with at RV town quoted us, a 2007 35 foot 5th wheel for $37000 that is including our camper in a trade in. So that price you said is right in the same ball park that they gave us. I will check online and see if i can get any info on those 5th wheels you talked about.. Thanks again

What the he!! happened to Bear and Chuck? I though we were a couple of the early ones in. Larry keep us in mind for trailer pooling.
Why in the hell do I keep forgetting about you guys, sorry about that. I'm waiting to make sure Nick is going before deciding on who to ride with, we'll get it figured out next week,

I think you forget us because you are getting mean in your old age.img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> Next week on the pooling is cool.

I do not know if Jenna and I will be making this ride. Verity wants to go camping 1 more time before I start on football, so that might be the only weekend open for us. I will let you know.

I'll let you know later today if any of them are OFF the market img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
I'm still hashing the weights of the 3305, 3505, and the Raptor 3812 on paper to see which will put me the least over my GVWR.

If you get a chance, can you leave me a message @ 253-381-9060 with what they told you price wise on the 35 without your camper trade in????
Sounds like they may have given you around $4-6000 trade-in.
I just may go South and deal on the 3505 today.
If I get any good info today, I'll pass it along to you also.

Thanks a Bunch

MB,

Tell the little guy to take care, we'll be thinking about him.
I'm sure he'll have a speedy recovery and everything will go well.

The price they gave us is the price you said. They were give us $4000 for our camper, without seeing it. i dont' even think it's worth 4, but whatever. it was one of those campers that was a rental one. It doesn't have anything in it. Alls it has is a burner, no micro, no stove! Which sucks!!

We are getting the triple axle to handle the weight.

Posted by: Quad4Fun

Thanks WQ,

I'm just heading out the door. We'll see what happens.
If I can get the 3505 for about $41,000 or so I think I'll get that one instead of the 3305.

Don't you mean GCWR (vehicle and trailer) rather than GVWR which is just the truck and the weight it can carry.

Well park in the upper lot or on the side of the road if the upper lot is full. Remember to bring your camera the scenery is gonna be beautiful.

I dont have a problem with it but i know alot of you might.
I won't run FS70, a possible ticket on my quad goes on my driving record, being a CDL Driver, maintaining a clean record is very important. I'll just park my rig near the closest trail crossing.

What about the upper parking level you were talking about?

That is where we parked, we rode up the FS70 about 1 or 2 miles to the trail that just cuts strait up from FS70 and entered there. On the way back there was a guy in a truck that gave us a warning he said "If the law catches you doing that you will get a ticket" but from where we entered the trail there was no parking, so I don't know what the expect us to do

Nope, he wasn't stuck. Just sitting next to him leaving me no where to go except cut my own trail. If I would have stopped at that particular point in the trail I don't think I would have gotten going again very easily.

It isn't better equipment, just differently abled.

A dump truck vs wheel barrow, both do the job, each has its application

dump truck vs dump truck with no hydraulic fluid, the first being better equipment because it is usefull

Good evening PSAR. Kid to the hospital for tonsils and tubes good news on getting home and wanting MEAT. Sounds like that boy has his priorities in order. If you get to eat what you want, want good stuff.

Sounds like it's gonna be a great ride on the 29th. Wish I could join in but will still have visitors from Mexico and other places to chauffeur around. Maybe around the second week of August I can join in the fun. For now having fun with family and friends.

Gonna get hot next couple of days. Air conditioning is the answer. Gonna sit in front of the outlet and try to avoid taking a nap. Or maybe just sip some iced tea and nap the day away.

All right! All right! Let's put a stop to this right now! Bear is just going to point his finger at me! I'll be 65 in November. Does that make me the "Senior Citizen" around here? I don't mind if it does cause the alternative to old age really sucks.

Edit: And another thought on this - - - I've made it this far in spite of myself, and others, and you still have to get-er-done.

Congrats TP and RG on the mobile little one, now the fun begins. on the kid proofing, get the plug covers and maybe some cabinet locks and pick up the breakables and you are set. There is no need to go spend mega money. That just gives people the excuse not to watch their kid, unless that is your thought.

Got to thinking about this, now is a great opportunity for you to do some pre-move packing. Everything that is baby vulnerable you probably wont have time to use anyway so just pack it up and have it ready to go.

I need a beater to get back and forth to work. 40 miles round trip for me and that is if i don't go anywhere else at all

AM?

Is Jayna picking up those tires/wheels from you?
I'd love to try them out but I'm not sure how soon my next ride is.

Nope, Rod, grab them up.

I don't have the duckets for them, but thanks Bill. Just got a vet bill that almost gave me a heart attack. Dayum. The Furry kid's final doctor bill added up fast. Wish I could put them on my health insurance. Geez. They took good care of him and me though, so they earned every penny this time.

No, I mean GVWR.
funny thing is I'm fine overall on the GCWR.
But with the pin weight on the rear axle, it may put me over on the GVWR, which is 11,500.
I can't remember the exact numbers, but with the dry pin weight it puts me right at the GAWR for the rear.
When I add the front axle weight and the rear axle weight on the scale, I'm just at the GVWR.
So depending on how I load the trailer and how much weight I add to the pin weight, I might go over the GVWR.
But, with the garage on the Raptor and how it will be loaded, I doubt I will put a whole bunch more weight on the pin.
All the weight in the garage will kinda of counter balance whatever I add up front.

So, next week I will be picking up the new house. Momma decided we are getting the Raptor 3814. Almost got it today, but couldn't take delivery until early next week.
So I told them we would ponder over it this weekend and probably come in on Monday.
Since we are going up North for the weekend, I'm gonna stop by the dealer up there and see if I can get a better deal from them. Won't hurt to try.

We ran a HVAC/R business for many years. If you want an Alice take a look at Craigslist and pick out one of the free refrigerators that are offered. Get one that has the coils on the back, easier to drill holes without destroying the box, and as small as will hold the keg size you want. Pick up a tap of the type you like and your in business. If you want really good cold beer I can get you an after market T-stat for it that will hold the temp at 32 to 33 Deg. F. Fill the freezer compartment with plastic jugs full of water and the temps in the fridge will be much more even. Leave a little space between the jugs to allow for airflow. Built lots of these for friends over the years and not much too it.

Edit: Best kegorates are the freezer on the bottom type. These are hard to find with coils on the back but ones with the coils below the freezer will work but they have to be cleaned a couple times a year. Second best are the ones with the freezer on top. Side by sides are usually way too big unless you want a bunch of space to keep canned refreshments. If you go with the after marked T-stat it will freeze the canned stuff that is non-alcohol based. If you stay with the stock T-stat the beer from the keg is just a tad on the warm side. Part of the freezer area in any of them makes a great place to keep mugs pre cooled.

He was looking at that setup until he decided he needed more room. I don't think there is a weight issue.
His enclosed probably doesn't weigh more than my trailer. Mines a car hauler and is built strong enough to haul tractors. It is built a lot heavier than an enclosed snowmobile hauler.

I ask eveytime we see him. He is weird. He'll come over 3 times a week for a month and then disappear for 6 months. It has been a few weeks since I have talked to him. Still remember, though.

I'll have to weigh my empty trailer and he can weigh his.
Remember, I load mine down with 4 quads, gas, firewood, tools, bbq, chairs, the kitchen sink more tools and more gas.
Not sure how much it weighs fully loaded but it isn't light.

Well, due to personal matters at their business our visitors from Canada had to depart over a week early. Our Son and D-in-L decided to take off early for their tour of the Western US soooo it looks like I am going to get to go play instead of driving folks around and trying to find new and exciting things to do. Any openings left for this outing? I don't know where the meet point is or if it is a day ride or what. Any info?

Why of course

Meeting place is across from the old pickle factory, on 410 in Enumclaw, 8:00am, it's either a restaurant or store.

Heading east on 410 out of town, old pickle factory is on left, meeting place is on right.

We could just meet at the Safeway on 410, that might be alittle easier, say 8:00 or 9:00.

The Safeway is where Rod met up with Wild and I. It worked out pretty good about a mile further down the road is the Ranger Station where you must purchase your Northwest Forest Service pass. 5$ for the day 30 for the year. I could have bought about 3 years worth now after all my day passes

Talked to my son, the one on the farm, this evening and had him look at the old fridges in the storage area. He says there is an International Harvester fridge from the late 30's or early 40's there that would probably come back to life. If you are interested in a unique kegerator it would probably cost about $150.00 for a new door seal and new wiring. Wouldn't attempt to salvage it if the sealed system was bad, way to costly for this purpose. It may also require some sanding and a coat of appliance paint as many of these really old ones were not porcelain finish especially during the war years. This one is about 4' 6" tall and just big enough for a standard keg. Very limited freezer area. Let me know if you are interested.

We went into Safeway and got some coffee and sandwiches. I am not sure about the other folks but I will probably pass on the camping, camping is just not the same without a camp fire. The Parking lot is about 30 miles from Enumclaw. 20 Miles further down 410 and the make a left of FS70 (it is paved) and go another 10 miles until the pavement ends you can't miss the Parking Area on the left.

I could do breakfast, those that want to eat, meet at 8:00, those that don't, meet at 9:00. There's a diner just down the road, don't know the name of it but, we can meet at the Safeway and drive to this diner.

Or we could meet at 9:00 for breakfast if that works better, whatever the mass wants to do.

It's 35 minutes to the riding area from Enumuclaw.

You guys have fun today and HYDRATE. It's gonna be hot without the riding gear. You'll be probably be sweating like a whore in church with helmets on. One of these rides needs to be on a Sunday or Monday(for those that ride on weekdays)so I can come out and play with everyone.

Have a great day everyone. Dayshift sucks.

I've seen your attempt at making coffee and it's scarry!

As long as it's a quad part, not a body part !!!!!!

At the speeds I travel a head on may result in minor soft tissue damage or a broken nail. Thinking more of my ability to lay the poor old quad on it's side type of thing.

From an energy efficiency and cost per usable BTU standpoint you would be better off with a couple of small window shakers. The rollarounds suck cooled air out of the room to cool the condensing coil of the unit and expel it thru the hose you stick out a window. Cost for these units is quite high for the number of BTU's of cooling they deliver. Many folks make the mistake of thinking they need to buy a 220 Volt AC because they believe it is less expensive to operate. Unless you need the capacity of the larger 220 volt units they will have no advantage over the little 110 volt ones. If you decide on central air, we need to talk. There are some of the well known brands you would be wise to avoid.

The schitty thing is, the fact that we are looking to buy/sell. Hoping to not have to do this house, just to do another in a month or so.

3 Beautiful Brand New houses for sale right next to me, 1876 sqft, 4 bedroom, 2.5 baths, gas heat, a/c, 2 have hardwood and slate tile with granite tile countertops. small lots but 20 minutes from tahuya. All under 300,000. hr>

Mapquest from your house to Bickford ford in Snohomish. That would give you an idea of that comute.

hour and 41 minutes

ferry ride included

I'll keep looking local. In the truck 13 hour days are common, that would be 16.

Every summer we talk about getting a/c, the heat passes and we decide not to do it, one of these days it just might happen.

We have a window mount A/C machine. Life was good, till we went into a house yesterday. It had forced air A/C in the floor. We must have "looked" at that house for a half hour.

MMMMM....... Sweaty whores.........

I like the thoght of a Sunday ride. I would be up for a little trail thrashing. The 400 is going to the frame, as soon as we settle into a new crib. Might need to ride once before that.

i snagged a 5000 btu a/c from costco a couple years ago for 79.95
money well spent,,,,,our place is like an oven without it

that being said,,,,,i do believe that any money spent over and above 79.95 would be a waste of money in a place like Seattle

we use our a/c for a total of about 7 nights a year,,,,,and that may be a stretch

Ahh, but they are absolutely invaluable for those 7 nights a year. My little old window unit in the bedroom kept my house from being a complete oven yesterday. Got it used on Craigslist at the end of summer 2 years ago. Great deal for $40. I went outside after 7pm and dang near melted trying to put skid plates back on the r450. Was glad to get inside and cool down.
Still need to figure out how to get those quads through the slider so I can work on them in the living room.

Yes MB is at work. Offroad open house is today. He is gonna be busy. So his schedule: open house, party at our house, and watching the munchkins while I go to work at 6 pm. But without work none of the partying could happen so I'm not gonna complain.

MB,
I was figuring my finances to see if I could pick up those wheels and tires from you. Looked like it was going to work until I discovered that some azzhole had broke out the back window of my van last night. Nothing stolen but still enough to piss a fella off.
Now I'm waiting for the window repair man to show up.

Yeh, always seem some jerk wants to mess with a guys stuff. I carry comprehensive on all our rigs and it has been the best investment of the various insurances to date.

Afternoon PSAR!!! We had a good ride at Middle Waddell, well kind of Wild rolled and dumped his quad down a hill bank, but he is ok nothing but a busted headlight and yes I pulled him out (Again). Wild's neighbor Adam went along. For some reason he was trying to keep up with Wild and I, He dumped Fred's 350 4 times <--- 4 there goes another headlight and some scrapes with a nasty looking side but he will be alright and yes I pulled him out too. It was really dusty, the heat wasn't to bad until we were about midway on the loop. By the time we hit the truck we were all sweaty whores and about to pass out. Yeah we drank alot of water but I think I was sweating more out than I was taking in. Things could have been alot worse but I have defiantly had better rides.

I would have been okay if that damn log would have stayed on the side of the trail. But yes I had to have Rancher pull me out of this big azz hole on the side of the trail. Its cool though, he always pull me outta chit when I get stuck!
