I LOVE the Adrenaline, but the cost is a bit much! We are realizing we have to give a few things up to have it. The kids adore it - room, entertainment, etc. -
Thanks for the thoughts.
Only problem is I blew my was already by buying the truck.
So now it's a trailer or camper.
Looked at the Arctic Fox yesterday. Way nice and would love one. Looked at the 990 like Rods img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>But after further review, we decided that might be a bit small for as much as we will use it.
So,
Does anybody know a Weekend Warrior dealer between here and Everett??????????
There is RV Town in Everett, hey TP and whoever else, who should I talk to there?????
But would also like to look between here and there.
Gotta run, be back later.......
We didn't talk to a salesmen, we got the owner. I think his name is Gary. It was slow and he had sent the salespeople home. We stopped by, and it worked good. He didn't have to get commission on top, because the $$$,$$$ was alredy his. I think that saved $ or close.

Well, we are back to looking at the camper/enclosed trailer setup........... Arctic Fox 990 img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>It's not for sure, but pretty dang close.
Tam looked at the camper and it had a lot more room than she thought.
We stuck all the kids in there and it won't be to bad......
Not much storage at all for clothes etc with 5 of us, but we can figure that out.
I wish I had a dually so I could get the big camper, nice having that extra room.....
Hey ROD,
What setup do you have for towing your trailer?
I'm probably gonna have to go with the Super Hitch.
Do you have airbags on your truck??????
Hey WILD,
I haven't heard of many problems with the Zuki 450 other than the frame.
Depending on your size (maybe around Happa size or bigger), you may want to get the shocks re-valved.
Ken (dsxbear) did that and he likes the ride a lot better.
I'd wait until September/October if you can, when Suzuki puts out the '07 models.
Good Luck

Sean,
I had an extension made at our local welding shop here in Snohomish. I don't carry that much tongue weight so it works fine. With your enclosed trailer set up you probably need to go to a super hitch.
I made Apache Camping Center throw in airbags AND tie downs on my truck, included in the price of the camper!

Thanks Rod,
The guy at Apache down here told me before I asked that they would throw in the Torklift tie downs.
Which are the ones I would have got anyway.
He said they could set me up with airbags, not sure if he meant throw in or just a good deal on them. I'll have to nail him down on that.
I'm probably going to go talk to him some more tomorrow, see what kind of price deal he will give me.
Thanks for the info.

I do just fine on the trails, thank you. Wild, I LOVE my LTR450. I am thinking 22" tires for trails to add some clearance and make sure you have FULL skids. Yes, it's a little wider, but not really much wider than the big Utes. Just gotta watch the edges on the tight spots. They also make narowing kits for it.
It kicks booty at the dunes.
If you want to wait, word is, Kawasaki is coming out with the LTR450 version with reverse and actually set up more for trails. Don't know release date though. That should be a biyatching machine.

here is my first response from a Mount Baker Motorcycle Club member.
Response for Bill. First off you have a right to be angry. The way things went were not that great. However don,t lay the blame on Hannegan Speedway or MBMC.Almost all of the people who run that program are not club members.I don,t know were they are from but I,m sure Brian Billings could answer that.Second,I have been a club member for 7 years and the club has been getting better every year, but remember that it is a club. The club has to make money to survive and the flat track program has been going down hill for years. Why? There are lots of reasons. As for Brian Billings there is only so much he can do with the people that do the sign up etc.Brian is only trying to right a sinking ship
what BS is that. These idiots are letting non club member ruin thier club and facility.

bouncing a ltr off the roots, rocks and mudholes of a tight rutted out trail could be considered a tragedy
abuse like that should be reserved for bikes that deserve the abuse (like my raptor) BR>

Sean, something that's worked pretty well for us in the past and would work really well for you with your enclosed trailer, is to use the large plastic storage bins (I get mine at Wally World on the cheap). You have to plan ahead to get what you need in the AM the night before, so you aren't running around in your skivies finding stuff in the morning. But it solves the storage space problem. We still use them to this day, so as to keep the camper less crowded with all the stuff we have added over the year.

You're right, probably not on Molly Porter, and I MISS reverse. Maybe there's a trade-in in my future...BR>
Of course, that's why I kept the Z, for trails and an extra dune quad. Maybe one day I will even get it to run right. I have lost patience with it and have little motivation to touch it anymore. Who knows. It has cobwebs on it now. Bah.
Think I am going to see if my 22's from the Z will fit the LTR. They only have one ride on them. The aftermarket nerfs might give me more clearance, tooThat would be a cheaper way to gauge what size I want to buy for it and how it will handle with the bigger tires.

Last time we bought an F350 at the farm the single rear tire had a greater load capacity rating than the dually. Might want to check on this for yours. Replace the stock tires with some good wide ones and you will have plenty of stability. JMHO based on past experience, but I could be wrong.

I was looking at trying to start racing. I would definatley have to talk to Sean, Josh, and Billy about that. MX has been something that I have been wanting to do forever. And now I might have an oppertunity to have the time and money to do that. I have no problem keeping up with Rancher. I just need to keep up with Jayna. If I could keep up with Jayna then I will be good to go!

maggiesboy, Have they made a power comander for the LTR yet. And if I even start racing will I be able to use it???

Last time we bought an F350 at the farm the single rear tire had a greater load capacity rating than the dually. Might want to check on this for yours. Replace the stock tires with some good wide ones and you will have plenty of stability. JMHO based on past experience, but I could be wrong. hr>
Arctic Fox will not sell campers larger than their 990 to anyone who doesn't have a dually setup.
With the larger campers when you go slow around a slanted corner so much weight shifts to the inside tire that there has been problems with the tire seperating from the rims. Thus the reason for requiring duals.

HA! Get you on the same quad and you will smoke me, no doubt!
Yes, they(several manufacturer's, but Yoshimura is the one I would o with) make the LTR version of the powercommander. Unless I am mistaken, the Powercommander is the interface for the EFI to change your maps. The LTR also has the CRBM (Cherrybomb)that is a plug in module for $40 that accesses an existing map already on the computer to compensate for when you pull the pea shooter and airbox lid to add 7hp. It did make a NOTICABLE difference. 7hp for $40. Hard to beat that.

You should run toyo M55's on the f-350 in the 285/75r16.. the SRWs will do just dandy. and actually haul more weight than the thinner duals.

Well now, I didn't know that. I really doubt it would be a common occurrence with properly inflated tires. May be one of those CYA type of things.

Ohh hell thats right.. you have one of them new trucks that was a pretty retarded move on Fords part .
. Yeah the bigger rotors should be better for braking but they could have developed sompin differnt than pushing their consumers into an ass tire market. do they even make any heavy tires for the 18'

I had forgotten also about the odd tire size. I suspect that there are heavy tires available for the 18" wheel as it has been around in the past. May be kind of spendy like the 17" 8 or 10 plys my '56 Ford F350 uses.

It isn't how wide the tire is, it's the load rating. I put nothing but load range E and above on my truck. And I real doubt you can knock a tire loose from the rim with it inflated to 80PSI.

You have to beat me before you step to Jayna and I can't ever remember you doing that (on the trails). He made me laugh saturday I lead most of the day stopping every now and then to wait. He jumped out in front hit 3rd and popped a wheelie through a straight looked back to see me about 1 foot from his rear. I think he thought he was fast, just for a minute that is

Just my experience...
I had an Alpenlite Silverton 11 1/2 foot camper. The camper was right on the bubble for the capacity for the truck. Used load range E tires on my single rear wheel truck and ended eating up sidewalls. The load range on the tires were 3,000 lbs each. Never blew a tire, I always noticed the bubble on the side of the tire. I got my money's worth out of Les Schwab's warranty on several sets of tires. Ended up with a dually and all those problems went away. The ride was much better as well.

I was there for two of her wipe-outs. One was slow motion where both the quad and rider had to be assisted DOWN from the bushes. Never seen a quad just hang there... kinda like the velcro wall. The other was high-speed where I almost ran over her on her way to wash her atv and take a quick bath... unfortunately she was doing cartwheels beside me on the way there. Glad she was ok for both.
Jayna is one tough cookie.

I am only afraid of Jayna @ the Dunes. I couldn't keep up with her at Easton but I am going to blow some BS and say it was because of the dust ;Q (even thought it wasn't entirely because of the dust) As far as her having a gun I probably have more and the only thing that I am pretty sure I could beat her at is shooting That is until I get my Renegade

I asked Brandon what he wants to do, he said he would think about it.
How bad do you have to f up when a six year old is going to think about it? They left a mark, and he knows it. They have wronged a little boy, and he knew it from the moment the engine shut off.

When things go well, you guys really enjoy it. I'd take 'em up on it. Even if they don't publicly recognize the screw-ups, the definately heard you. You and your family are an asset to the sport, make it happen.
I completely agree, go for it and like 2mny said the heard you loud and clear even is it was not the spectacle you wanted or expected. Unfortunately I also agree with Joel, if you didn't work at a shop they never would have offered you anything

Everybody says it is heavy and it is, but it is only 32 pounds heavier than my current 400 with 4 times the HP and 3 inches more clearance and I don't have any problems keeping up now It is hard to fathom the massacre that could take place

Now your starting to sound like my wife, I say 4 times the Horse Power and she assumes I will kill myself then again she has seen me ride the 400 She is starting to make me wonder but I think it is better to have more than enough then the right amount I am sure I won't use it half the time but when I want it all I have to do is hit the throttle and it is bye bye time

We "may" be up at Hannegan to watch the so called races on Thursday, depending on if I get a camper etc.
Would need to find a place to stay Thursday night if we can't stay over at the track.
Bill (and of course anybody else), img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>If the kids are set up for MX, you should bring them out to Hannegan this weekend for our series.
I'm betting it would be fun for them.
Practice Saturday, with maybe some Team and Rhino racing saturday evening.
Then racing on Sunday.
They may even have some different fun events, but I'm not totally sure on that.

You are right Rod,
Apache won't sell ya the 1140 or 1150 without a dually. I was looking at the 1150 when the sales guy came up to me and asked how I was doing. I told him I wish I had bought a dually so I could get the 1150. He said "oh good" I didn't want to dissapoint you buy telling you this one wouldn't work with the single rear axle.
My tires are load range E and are rated at over 3,000 each. But it don't matter if they were rated at 5000 each with the single rear axle. The problem is the GVWR and the GAWR for the rear. You can add airbags, larger load range tires, different springs, but the manufacturers GVWR and GAWR won't change. I'm not about to go grossly over the manufacturers ratings and put myself or others at risk. Sure the truck will probably tow that weight, but I don't believe it is all that safe.
As it is, I think I would be a litte over those ratings with the 990 and towing my trailer (due to the tongue weight).
I won't be over the GCWR, but may be way over the GAWR for the rear and a little over the GVWR.
Not sure though, we'll see.
I'm gonna hit the scales tomorrow and see exactly where I would be with the camper and trailer fully loaded.
This whole weight issue is what steered me away from a motorhome. I didn't want to spend $90,000 + on a motorhome (probably more) that would be close to the capacity I need. Most gas class A's don't have any more than a 5,000/500 lb receiver, and you cannot use a weight distribution system with most class A's or any class C's.
I've learned lots about them in the past month. I can't believe how many motorhomes (mostly class C's) that are way over there GVWR, way way way over their GAWR in the rear and thus way way over the GVWR due to the tongue weight of the trailer they are hauling.
been very educational for me..........
But also very hectic trying to find something to work and stay somewhat within the weight limits.
I am researching a different trailer to try and lose as much weight as I can..........

If Rod doesn't want those from you, I am interested for the R450. I am thinking the extra height will be good for the trail, but have been debating between 20's or 22's. I am also curious how much power it will rob with the extra weight and size. It's the same setup I have on the Z, so I may try out mine to see if I like the feel of them. Hate to put wear on your new ones to find I hate them. Just keep me in mind.

Funny! It could be us, but it's not. It might be one of my former students. There are 7 kids in that family, with a single dad who is an army pediatrician (sp?). Four or five have CF and they have gone through a few nannies. Course, if the dad would stop hiring 21 year old cuties and look for a no-nonsense RN (due to the health demands of multiple CF kids), he might have an easier time.
A week and a half ago I took all 5 kids bowling, then last night, we took the older 4 to the Rainiers baseball game. It's kinda funny the looks you get when you have a troupe, but I keep remembering this is temporary and someday I will yearn for the chaos

Guess not, called and they don't have the 5th wheels I'm looking at.......
Thanks for the call and thoughts Larry............you to Val img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
I called RV Town and they got nothing.
I know it seems like I can't make up my mind, which I can't.
But, I really appreciate all of your thoughts and ideas, it has really helped me.
So, I'm done asking/bugging you guys for now....I'll just post when I finally get something.
Hope some of you can make it to Hannegan for our MX racing this weekend.
Ash's quad is down so she'll just be riding/learning the 80 shifter.
Nobody has any weekend warriors that are that long. Believe me i have been looking for over a month. Justin did go and talk to a sales man at RV town and looked at acouple 5th wheels. Just wants to get a 35 foot 5th wheel, no slide outs with the generator. The guy gave justin a price, so we are doing are best to pay off some bills, so we can get it. If we want to get it before we go hunting, we have 2 months because it takes 8 weeks to build. We are just going to get a brand new one, since we will have it for a very long time. I can't remember if it is RV town or Great American RV that you can trade in basically anything. they take chain saws, motorcycle's, quads, etc. Also I recommend that if you do get a weekend warrior do some history on it. I have done alot and have looked at all of the 5th wheel toyhaulers and the weekend warrior is the one that is the strongest. Also the salesman told justin that the weekend warriors hold there value more than any other toyhauler. They are the first to make the weekend warrior. The salesman told justin that in a 7 year range the weekend warrior toyhaulers only lose about a 30% value.

Wow, what a great July so far. Havent been to work since the end of June and dont have to go back til the 2nd week of August. The weathers been great!!!! Taking care of mama has its perks (dont have to go to work).
Jayna.
I went and bought a GPS. Been researching the GeoCashing and Berta and I are going to get involved in it. Sounds like fun to us. Got a bit carried away on the unit though. Ended up getting a 60CSX. It has a color screen and a SD card slot for more maps.
May come in handy on some of the excursions us Quad Junkies go on!

I can't, my dad says I can't get wet.
OUCH! Don't come cryin' to me when she kicks yer azz. I'd help protect you, but I'm afraid of Jayna, she has a gun img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">:0hr>
I am only afraid of Jayna @ the Dunes. I couldn't keep up with her at Easton but I am going to blow some BS and say it was because of the dust ;Q (even thought it wasn't entirely because of the dust) As far as her having a gun I probably have more and the only thing that I am pretty sure I could beat her at is shooting That is until I get my Renegade hr>
your so full of chit, she rides hard, cooks like no one else's bidness, and is kewl as a short stack of steaks for breakfast. I'll bet a buck she can out shoot your tail img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">hr>
Hmmmmm I woudl like to see, there are many thing that I am better at than quad ridin and shootin' is at the top of all of the list, I shoot way more than I ride hr>
Gee, all this talk about me and I wasn't even around to participate. Seriously, I have been in a foul, foul mood all day(really all week) and popped around to catch up before bed. You guys are all the bestest. I absolutely appreciate every one of you. You totally tanked my crappy mood and made me laugh out loud. Been needing it, too.
As far as the out shooting Rancher, guess that will have to be one of those things that only time will tell. If it's a contest at shooting off at the mouth, he wins hands down. j/k Rancher, all in fun. You da mayun! Now, about outriding me...You're gonna NEED that 800 to even try. Bring it, big boy. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">hr>
I think it's called, "piss and vinegar"???????????????????????

Wild, Rod and I had a great ride at the Naches Trail today! It took us a little while to find the trail head but when we did and it was great, you climb more in the 1st 3/4 of a mile than the rest of the entire trail combined. Scoped out a couple cool camping spots We never did go all the way to the end because wild was quickly running out of fuel; it will be something to watch up there for you sporties I had 31 miles on the rancher but I am sure 7-10 of that was just trying to find the trail head (forest service roads). I talked to a camper and there was only about a mile left before it ran back into 410. When we stopped at the Ranger District in Enumclaw to get our passes they mentioned that there was a fire ban on starting Friday Overall the Trail was great and there is some beautiful country up there. May not be for the beginner to moderate sport riders but if you have a Ute you should be OK

If you couldn't keep up with Jayna, OFC would be a spec in the distance!
I can't keep up with OFC on my best day. I don't even try. Well, ok, I try, but I know better. OFC rocks!
Of course, the only way I can keep up with or stay ahead of TP is to head for water cause he's skeered of water. hr>
I'm not a scared, I was told not to plat in the water. Whats wrong with listening to your elders.?
