Made it back from Waddell in one piece, dry and dusty, beautiful views of Rainier and St. Helens, you could even see the capitol. We did the Waddell Loop, first time for me, more challenging than the Rock Candy side, only two wrist breakers for me today.

Good morning PSAR! What a beeuutiful morning. Dog and I just got back from a walk and all is well with the world. Still learning new stuff about this puter, lot's of new things on this one.

Going to the farm tomorrow for a week or little less, gonna bring the quad back with me so will have it available for fun. Also gonna bring the camper pickup back for SWMBO and I to be able to do some overniters. Now that things are slowing down a little maybe we can finally meet some of you good folks. Would be easier if they could find a couple more nurses where SWMBO works. Too dang many shifts each week.BR>
Son and D-in-Law are up, time for breakfast and racing around some more. Everyone have a great day, and those that were "Buick Shopping" last night, well - - - this too will pass.

Good Morning PSAR

I did my first 45 degree stoppie yesterday, not by choice though

Tore into the Toyota engine yesterday and have discovered that it is officially dead!
Cracked cylinder wall on the #3 hole, wasn't a blown gasket as I'd suspected.
Anyone want a 1979 Toyoya SR5 Long bed Heavy Half pick-up for a parts truck? It has a new radiator, new brake master cylinder, new tires and I'll throw in a Felton's complete engine gasket kit and a shop manual. All this for $100.00. It also has a tow bar attached so you can easily pull it away from my house. Engine and all parts are in the bed of the truck. Come and get it!
Now I need a van for work.

You need to bring a watering truck to lead the ride, dusty, dusty, dusty, of course, I don't have to tell you that, you've been around a few years longer than most of us and have experienced such conditions in your travels.

Now camping with you would be great, stories of past flowing like the creek I was swimming in last week at Easton

If it was a quad I'd buy it. I don't want a 3 wheeler.

Umm, let's see now, Long nose Pete with a 30' tank behind it. Would that fit down the trails to wet things down? And are you insinuating the "stories of past" are all wet? Like the man said "the older I get, the faster I was".

Glad you guys got it. Nice to be able to see it go to friends who can put it to good use!
Tell DJ I want to see it when it's up and running again!
Also tell DJ not to forget to take the timing case cover off the old engine block before you trash it. Those things are hard to come by.

Good morning PSAR.

Off to the farm today, our son has "offered" to "assist" in putting a new starter in my old camper pickup. This means I may have to get a little dirt on me but he is gonna take care of the old man. Apparently we wil be back in the Seattle area on Thursday. May be able to make a ride this next weekend if anything is going on.

What the heck is a "wrist breaker"?

Hmmm If it's the over the bars thing then, yes, it hurts just as bad on a quad I would think. Havent had the pleasure of eating one of my own front tires on a quad but do remember the experiance of this phonomena on a motorcycle.

Good morning PSAR! We took the boat out Saturday to American Lake. For a little fishing boat, it did ok It pulled the tube fine, it pulled the wakeboard ok, but it would not pull a skier Josh and Mariah got sunburned, but the rest of us were ok.

Went and saw Pirates of the Caribbean on Sunday. Sat next to one of my former students and his family. Liked the movie. Even with the matinee, it can get spendy with a family of 7 (but only six of us went to the movie - Ricky was with his dad.)

Speaking of the big family adjustment, we have moved the girls into one bedroom and the boys into another - a real life bratty bunch! So far so good, except its a LOT of laundry, dirty dishes.......omg!

We are looking forward to riding again soon, but maybe a day trip with just the two of us next weekend BR>
Have a great day everyone!

How many of you are planning to ride the Naches Trail on the 29th? I would like to know so I can plan on parking in the upper parking area or lower parking area. If you are goin you might wanna get a NW Forest Service parking pass. You can get one in E-claw off 410 at the ranger station (it used to be a Dairy Queen) Im planning on meeting at 8am at Charlies Cafe off 410 right across the street from the old Pickle factory. If you stay on 410 you cant miss it. The trail is about 40 min from the cafe. The trail will take about 3-4 hours to ride round trip. This trail is not for begginers. Last time i rode the hole trail i rolled my 3-wheeler about 6 times down the trail. The back side is gonna be steep goin down and hard to get the sporties back up with some off camber spots. Lots of roots, rocks, ruts and lots of wrist breakers. Hope to see you there!

Any suggestions on where to ride near the Ocean, Westport or Ocean shores? I want to take the jet skis out to the ocean also so the closer the better. I figure some nice open area would be good place for the daughter to learn to ride her new quad. She outgrew her Suzuki LT80 so I got her a Honda 300EX.

We're trying to keep the number of tow vehicles down, but, rider wise, I think 7 or 8. I think the tow vehicle number might be at 4.

Pin the throttle and hold on, if that doesn't work, utes with tow straps work well BR>

I don't know of anyplace to ride in the dirt close to the ocean and you can't ride the dunes in Washington State, I think you're out of luck there. I don't have any other suggestions.

Posted by: lovbyts

Yeah I know you can&39;t rid on the beach I was hoping for something close so I wouldn&39;t have to go down to Oregon dunes, long drive.. and I hate riding the skis on lakes, to small and crowded, I like the waves of the ocean. Lakes are like riding an atv on a baseball field, you get bored the 2nd lap. LOL

They don't happen quit as often but when they do they are much worse remember Wilds dad never did fall off the quad it was the handle bars that shattered his wrist (Note) Honda's are tougher than human bones

The more people I have to tow the more times I get to ride the fun parts of the trail Like that creek at Easton in April I must have crossed that creek 50 times over the weekend. Everytime a group crossed it I crossed it 10 time to push / pull everybody through

I don't know how big the sites are. I havn't been to Spillman yet, most the time for day trips we just park at the turnout area just past Effendahl.

Does anyone know how big sites at Spillman are? and if U can stay overnight at either Effendahl or in the turnout, cause I know those are big enough.

The Forest Service just made a huge parking lot for the snowmobilers about 2 miles from where i get on the Naches Trail. Only problem is you have to ride your quads on FS70. The forest service dosent want you to ride non-street legal vehicles on there roads. I think its really dumb to have that rule up there. The place i park is off FS 70 and is right next to the trail it can hold about 5 rigs and trailers thats if no one is camping or parking there. I know alot of you like to follow the rules. I just dont want you to get in trouble. Alot of people ride quads and dirt bikes on FS 70. Ive even done it in front of the ranger and she didnt care. Its all up to you guys.

Im sure you could stuff it somewhere in Spillman,,,,but most of the sites will be kind of lacking for your Rig.

Right on the same access road as Spillman is Kammenga Campground,,,,,which would fit you easily (with options). I suggest that spot to many people. Its a bit more intimate,,,,and spread out,,,and is located right on the tahuya river trail. Both areas have running water and pit toilets.

and yes,,,you can stay overnight at elfendahl

The rule has to do with a Washington State law, which was changed and the FS supported the change at the hearings and said they would change the rule, but has seen fit to not keep their word so far. Also it is rather unfair to allow the snowmobilers to ride on the road and not us, don't you think.

Happa,
If Cindy comes along there won't be room to trailer pool for us.
I'd probably get off 405 at the Maple Valley Hiway anyway. A little north of you in Renton.
That's the way I've always gone to Crystal Mountain and it's the same way to the Naches Trail.

I honestly don't care who wins, just let the racing be good, and the beer be cold BR>

Posted by: RaptorRandy27

Actually, I know a couple of locals that have a good shot, one is Steve Kilcup, he has been on a tear in the Mike Anderson owned #18 360 car and if luck is with him he will be very competitive. ( He is also a fellow duner)

I still would like to see Kasey whip Tony in a winged sprinter, Kasey does have an advatage being a 2 time Dirt Cup champ he knows the fast way around Skagit. Eveyone always says Tony is the best sprint car driver but he would have a rough time making the "A" feature at an Outlaw race, Kasey has a couple of Outlaw wins to his credit and one of those was at Williams grove against the famed PA posse. The kid is a blast to watch in a sprint car, I just hope the pavment racing hasn't taken anything away from his dirt tracking skills.
The racing will be good you can bet on that

Posted by: LdyJay

I think snowmobilers should have the same rules as quads. I know in the fall and winter the rules go out the window because of hunting. Ive ran into many game wardens and forest rangers on FS roads. The game wardens always check my gun and check to see if i have current tabs then send me on my way. In the summer is another story.

I think with that many people going we should park at the lower snomobile parking area. I dont wanna get up there and have no place to park all the rigs and trailers.

Posted by: OneFlyCowboy

Julies having ups and downs but they think they have the infection/ulcerated cornea to a point where it's getting better instead of worse.

The stuff I was using to rub the hairline scratches out of my paint was 3M finessit II, it's getting hard to find anymore but check with an autobody supplier and see if they have any. 3m came out with a replacment for it but I don't care for it.

The mothers ball is good as long as you clean it after every use.

If a quad doing a doughnut in the road destroys the road then it was built pretty shabby at the least. Hell, upteen thousand pound log truck hammer those roads into washboard fast and cause more damage than quads can. Why don't they outlaw log trucks because they damage the roads worse?

I spoke with a couple of people, I told them it happened to me as well. They would like to see it.

I also asked about the frame. The problem is this. Suzuki is not standing behind the repaired frames. They want all liability to fall on the welders, which is a massive bunch of shat.

I say break it and they will have to replace it.

I could take care of that for you when I heal

I saw it in your photo gallery a while back. I'm not up to par on sprint cars, but I'm learning. Was it a minisprint? Tell me a little about it please. My buddy got all excited and started asking me questions about it.

I'd like to go to that charity race, but since it's in the middle of the week I probably won't go.

Are you going to Grays Harbor on the 28th & 29th? Kasey will be there again. I'm sure you already knew that. I'm going both days.

No, I won't be making the trip to Grays harbor, I'm conserving my funds for Dune fest. The mini sprint is my future son in law, he races at Deming speedway 1200CCcc kawi with EFI & a Power Commander IIIr with a custom Methanol mapHe ran 2nd from deep in the field at clay cup last year.

I ran Sportsman Sprints and then full on Sprintcars. I haven't turned a lap since 2003.

ya'll heard that the dude who managed or owned the Elmo dirt track got killed by a car crashing thru the infield like last week or sompin?

with 22's you will like 12 front and 42 or 44 rear.. 42 fits with no shims on skidplate.. 44 requires shimming

The rule has to do with a Washington State law, which was changed and the FS supported the change at the hearings and said they would change the rule, but has seen fit to not keep their word so far. Also it is rather unfair to allow the snowmobilers to ride on the road and not us, don't you think.

Wild and I can drop quads at the trail head and then park the trailer in the parking lot if need be.

With 22's,

1 down up front = 2.75 up rear

If you go down up front, that sprocket will wear out faster

If you go up rear, you'll need to shim skidplate

13/40 is stock, I'm running 13/44 with about an 1/8 shim

I've run 12/42 before, hell of a hill climber and you don't have to shim. If I was to do it all over again, I'd go with 12/42 and run 2nd and 3rd on the trails.

RG, can TP come out to play?

Posted by: RidinLCWA

Hey all, long time no post. My quads been out of commission for a few months (needed to straighten a few things out) and work has been a bearcat. I hadn't had much time to think about the forum, until I got an e-mail today saying that I'm a featured member on the photo page: http://forums.atvconnection.com/gallery.cfm.

Cool. How's the riding been around the state? I'm hoping to make a dune trip in August and maybe some local rides. Hope all is well in the PSAR world.

Posted by: HappaRap

There seems to be a few maybe or interested riders for the Naches, I figure in two weeks we'll know who's actually going and can figure out any trailer pooling then, JMO

More memory for maps and storing tracks, etc. and more features. The 130 has even more memory.

I think what well do is ill drive up to the small parking lot near trail and either ride my quad or truck down and let you know. All depends on how many trucks with trailers are gonna be going.
