Feb. 13, 2006 - Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced today that his department would immediately implement a “Cheney Alert” system to warn Americans if an attack by the vice president is imminent.
The Department of Homeland Security has been under pressure to respond to the widespread panic and anxiety that have gripped the nation since Cheney shot and wounded a fellow quail hunter while on a hunting trip in Texas over the weekend.
Across the country, people have holed up in their homes and hoarded food and water, fearing another senseless attack by the gun-toting vice president.
“What we have learned, the hard way, is that Dick Cheney can attack without warning,” Chertoff said. “It is our hope that with this Cheney Alert system we will be able to give the American people some warning before he strikes again.”
The alert system, with five color-coded levels indicating the likelihood of another brutal pellet attack by the Vice President, was derided by some in Congress such as Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del), who likened it to “closing the barn door after the horses have escaped.”
“The fact is, the White House already had ample warning that Dick Cheney was going to strike, and they sat on their hands and did nothing,” Biden said, referring to a Presidential Daily Brief dated February 4 with the title, “Dick Cheney Determined to Strike in U.S.”
Elsewhere, former Education Secretary William Bennett said that he was “outraged” that an NHL gambling ring has been in operation for five years and he was never invited to participate in it.

Well lets see here ITS BLOODY COLD!!! just spent from 4:30 today till 9 which was a half a hr ago working on my lt250r and got the new topend in among other things and it started on the 5th kick...mmm sounds so purty..so im skiping school tommorow so i can break it in and finish packing with ease instead of rushing and forgetting something.... He can't spend more than $2500 and also has 4 boys with the oldest being 12 and youngest 6. With the quads I recomended he could pass them on to the older two boys after he learns and wants something bigger. First off anyone have any recomendations or quads for sale that would work for him, second here is one he wants to look at up in Everett and I am trying to tell him that it isn't that great of a deal 300ex, anyone know this guy or quad? And third recomend just don't look spelled right, What ya think teacher Marci.

Pacific City is the closest to Sand Lake, only about a 10 minute or so drive to the parking lot.
There are a couple hotels there, one spendy and a couple average.
We've stayed at 2 of them and they weren't bad.
When I get home tomorrow, I'll try to find you the links to them.
If not, just do a search for Pacific City Oregon and you will find a
website that will work for you.

what size is your buddy? You really cant go wrong with the blaster or 300,,,,or even the 250 class,,,especially if he has kids. 400 too

Cheech, that's not a bad price on that 300ex. See if your buddy can get him below 2K, then it would be a bargain!

He is 5'10" and bout 185. Never even started a bike or quad in his life, so I'm thinking a blaster or 300 would last himself close to 2yrs till he would be ready for a 450 or 660. Plus the two oldest boys are 12&9 and will get the quad when he is done with it.

Well folks, I rode the R450 this morning. A very nice machine. The power delivery is very electric, no hard hit like the Yammies. It pulled well from rock bottom to mid throttle (and a touch higher at times) I won't call it a race machine, but a solid duner!

She was having a rough night on this camping trip, BUT OFC still wants to bring her home to meet the parents and get MUM and Daddy's approval for her hand in marriage.......

Expert at picking the wrong trails for a quad In the year I've lived up here I've only rode walker about 4 times.
I have a lot of trails and the power lines where I can carry a bit more speed that I play on right out my back gateThen when I'm feeling adventurious I head into Walker.

Ok SEan on the 400 front end on the 300's here's the "deal" everyone says the bump steer is horrible the geometry is all off ect I DONT' care what they say personally I have +3 arms on my 300 w/ STOCK shocks it has a little bump steer but it's not bad at all it seems to get me where I need to go w/o that sillly skinny fornt stocker end!! When I first posted pics of my new front on the 300 everyone had a FIT they acted like the quad was gonna fall apart LOL
Anyway YES IT IS one of the best upgrades you can do I think, since they are so skinny stock!! ONE of these days I am going to put the 400 arms/shocks on mine I jsut need to get a shock relocator bracket 1st!!! So have fun do it & you'll find those parts for probaly $100 for the arms & shocks if you look good enough BR>
OK well we had our mechanic go over the motorhome, so NOW that baby is gonna fly hahaha, he put 2 new mufflers on it as they were blown out & the previous owner had clamps on it instead of hangers I guess DUH hahaa, he went in & adjusted the carb to the RIGHT way, adjusted the linkage on the tranny,(it was shifting too soon)oil change, fixed our dim headlight, & a coule other things HE ROCKS img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> he is meticulous but It's a GOOD THING!! Charged u s $250 & we're on our way!!! Haven't heard or picked it up yet but he said he's pretty sure it has a cam in it cuz now it sounds like his old hot rod img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">, So she' s runner & I'm glad we didn't just say F' it when we were all disgusted w/ it hahahaha, now some fridge work or a new one & we're set on the inside img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> I'll live w/ my propane only fride till next year's taxes if it holds out over the summer which it works great so we should be good!!!!!!!!!

Larry, I would suspect with the larger number of machines in a confined area on the sand that the overall noise level would be higher than a couple of machines out on the trail in the middle of nowhere. So they drop each machines noise level by 2/3s and then the overall noise would be about the same. At least it is a logical explaination.

Hi everyone we're back.
Had a great time at Sandlake and Cindy was kicking azz on her 400ex! I had to stop her from trying all the tree shoots!
The weather was fantastic and we stopped to see Marci and Josh and their rolling palace.
We never thought we would be sitting by a campfire in Oregon in February.
We even stayed up to burn all the wood I brought, got tired and headed for bed. It was 8:30 PM. Damn we hate staying up that late!
Got in a short ride this morning and headed home.
Looking forward to the next trip.

This is just a safety tip...
but the analally rentetive safety part of me just wants to mention this.
Be careful with the carpet in there. Any spillage or minor leaking of gasoline on the carpet is very dangerous.
Gas does not evaporate as quickly and is obviously not as easy to clean up.
The vapors and fumes will linger for a long time, and it only takes a little.
A little fire hazard obvioulsy, but the real hazard is breathing and lung problems.
Without going into all the details, the lingering gas vapors can cause real problems with your lungs and breathing.
In 15 years I have been on two gentlemen that were working on vehicles in carpeted garages,
They were both overcome by the vapors and were found dead, from relatively small amounts of spilled gas soaked into the carpet.
Again, just a safety message, not trying to be anything other than that.......
