I have a lot of aluminum wheels that are not looking so well. The last time I polished them, it took me forever and a day. Is there a buffing pad of some sort that can be used? I thought I saw RR getting something at the barn one day.

Josh & Marcie, hope Josh's Dad has a full and speedy recovery. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

MOTHERS Makes a polishing ball you put on a drill. Kick butt too! I've seen them at shucka auto for around 35 duckets

Yes you did, I bought the mothers Power ball. It worked great the first time I used it but after that unless you wash it and get all the black out of the foam it's not so great anymore and you still need to hand polish when done to get a good shine. It does work good for getting rid of the sandblasted look then follow up by hand with some good old fashioned elbow grease. Your welcome to borrow mine if you like, they are kinda spendy, cost like 30.00 bucks new.

Head down to Shucks, get yourself a small Mothers Powerball, a can of Mothers Polish, hook the Powerball to your drill, put alittle polish on the ball and let the drill do all the work. You can do a set of wheels in 10 minutes or less. Mothers Powerball costs about $20.00. To clean the ball, squirt some dawn dishwashing soap on it and work it in, rinse with warm water and let air dry. Best $20.00 I've ever spent, works great

Posted by: HappaRap

They were on sale on Shucks for $20.00. Just squirt dawn dishwashing soap and work it in, rinse it off, it comes clean like brand new. Of course, after multiple uses, it will get worn down alittle and if you let it get too black and dry, it won't come very clean. I used it on my tractor wheels, worked great and it's alot faster than by hand. I don't like to polish by hand, way too much work, besides, my scrawny wrists get sore and tired

That's too funny. I went to shucks right after my last post and got the powerball. Shined up two pretty nasty wheels pretty quickly, but found exactly what you posted... Still requires a little elbow grease to get the polished look.

I did 8 wheels by hand last year and my fingers were raw by the time I was done. It took a couple days after work to get them done, but it was a lot of work.

Thanks for the tip on the powerball!

That I don't mind, In my experiance a union only works for the chit bags that shoud be fired. Pop hot on a drug test the union won't let them fire you, show up late all the time and the union won't let them fire you. ect.... If you show up on time do your job and do it well you shouldn't need a union.

I don't know how experienced TM is. It sounds to be equal to Evans Creek or Elbe, I've never been to Elbe, but, Evans is pretty challenging in spots. All we can do is ride as far as we can, I've ridden some pretty knarly trails, can't see it being impossible for a sporty, we just have to ride with dump truck ballz

We will see if Ranchers wife will let him have his nuts for the day. She walks around with them in her pocket! If I go riding TM lets me have them back cause I need them for the stuff that I do!

Covered that base so Rancher doesn't have a leg to stand on witha come back! HA

I think that would be kick azz! Do you think that it would be something that TM could do or would it be to challenging??? I just tried to call Rancher but I think he is trying to put his Honda back together.
I don't know how experienced TM is. It sounds to be equal to Evans Creek or Elbe, I've never been to Elbe, but, Evans is pretty challenging in spots. All we can do is ride as far as we can, I've ridden some pretty knarly trails, can't see it being impossible for a sporty, we just have to ride with dump truck ballz hr>

Did I just hear you compare Elbe and Evans Creek????????? Evans Creek is chump change, especially now that they opened up the other end of Elbe after logging. If you can't cross a 3ft diameter tree, the south end of Elbe is not for you But me I love that chit, you can tell by looking at the front rack of my quad

We will see if Ranchers wife will let him have his nuts for the day. She walks around with them in her pocket! If I go riding TM lets me have them back cause I need them for the stuff that I do!

Covered that base so Rancher doesn't have a leg to stand on witha come back! HA

My wife doesn't seem to have my nuts at the moment, I think TM had them last, you can check with her? I am ready to ride regardless

Well, since you begged I can probably swing it. The wife is working at least 8 hours that day, so I should be able to go. Besides she is working tomorrow too and the youngest daughter is taking me to dinner. So she will be feeling guilty about that. Larry, do we want to meet up and car pool for this gig?

I was looking up Naches Trail and everything I read says the trail is only open for motorized use from July 15th - November 15th
So according to the US Forest Service web site the trail doesn't open for our use until July 15th

A Northwest Forest Pass is also required on all vehicles parked at the trailhead.

This is a FAIR statement also..........BR>Unions are HERE today for a reason. IMO what Rancher described doesn't exist for the most part, Union Employers/Employees have UNBENDABLE rules the employers/employees have to abide by, If not it's 3 strikes and YOUR OUT and Union Employers KNOW how to make it stick when it comes to firing an undesirable employee.

TP's employer sounds like a VERY FAIR business owner and knows HOW to take care of the people that take care of him............THAT'S why a union ISN'T needed in his case.

You would probably be taking 410 thru Sumner, Buckley and Enumclaw to Greenwater. I'll be coming up 164 to Enumclaw. The way I figure, if you come by my place, you're adding 30 miles to your trip, or, we could trailer pool from Enumclaw. Doesn't really matter to me.

From my personal experience, the union would not stand behind you. I had an on the job injury and was 100% disabled with physcial injuries and a head injury for 8 years. Not once in that time span did the union even question my status. Most union leaders and company leaders only care about the size of their wallet, not the working man or woman. Like I said in a previous post, I'm just glad I was in the union for the pension I'll recieve in the future.

All a union contract is is an agreement between two parties about how labor relations or other covered issues are handled. If it is not in the contract then it is as open to discussion or being ignored as any issue in a non-union shop. You are lucky to be working for an individual or company that takes an intrest in their employees. Most places of employment would not have agreed, even with a union, to do what has been done for you. About keeping your job open for you if you are hurt/sick away from the job. Some of this is covered under state and/or federal law, as in the "Family Leave Act" but not many contracts I have seen are very liberal toward the employee in this regard. I would guess you have shown a strong commitment to this company and been a valued employee for some time. What has been done for you is seldom seen in union or non-union shops unless there is a very complex and demanding contract if effect. Some contracts require a company to hold jobs open, others won't. Most contracts allow the company to require a Doctors reliese for full or light duty prior to the employee returning and usually the company is allowed to decide at what level the employee will be allowed to return. When contracts get really complex it becomes very difficult to manage a business and all involved suffer. Too much regulation in business, as in government, is not a good thing. Sorry for the long post but not an easy yes/no issue.

OK, Gonna hi-jack this thread one last time then shut-up I promise. BR>
All contracts are not "UNBENDABLE". Many have a lot of give and take on various issues that are negotiated on a case by case basis between the company and the union. Area to manuver is important to give some flexability for many issues. EQUAL TREATMENT of all employees is probably the most inflexable part of any contract and must be observed by the union and the company at all times. Termination of employment may occure on a first violation in some cases, usually involving theft or violance, or after many more minor infractions over a long period of time. Most contracts require purging of minor infractions from an employees records if no violations occure for an agreed upon period of time and the employee then has a "clean slate". Most contracts also require a series of steps involving verbal, written and written documented to the union warnings followed by disiplinary time off, reduction in pay and/or other actions prior to termination. Many contracts also require counseling or retraining where appropriate. Most terminations of employment are looked upon, at least in any company I have been involved with, as a major failure on the part of management and the skills of the people involved. End of rant.

Then I get to pack for our camping trip. The boys and I are going to tent it down to the Redwoods and work our way up north again. We'll finish off meeting Josh and the girls at Coos Bay the 30th. The weather is supposed to kick butt that weekend!

If anyone is interested in a spot at Horsfall June 29 - July 4 ($109.) let me know a.s.a.p. A friend of ours can't go. Again the weather should be super!

Hope all you dads had a great day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there. Wild, TM and my wife and I went to Middle Waddell for a ride today it was a lot of fun. It is nice to have my own quad back. I even rode Wilds Raptor around for a little while. Just enough to get soaking wet and muddy Well I hope everybody had a good weekend. It is back to the grind tomorrow. I am gonna watch a movie and hit the rack early. G/N PSAR!

Is there going to be a ride on either the 1st or 2nd in Easton that a few others could tag along on? I am going to ride somewhere but not sure and since Easton is closer that would be sweet. What kind of riding is it there??

As you may have noticed (or maybe I never get noticed) I have been off-list for a while again. I had some family stuff come up with my dad and it's been a little rough and time consuming, but I'm back..

Thanks............Steve

So according to the US Forest Service web site the trail doesn't open for our use until July 15th
A Northwest Forest Pass is also required on all vehicles parked at the trailhead.
I pm'd PowerRam100 about this. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of it before the end of the day hr>

The trail is closed only when it&39;s really muddy. I went up there last year before July 15 there were no signs that it was closed. I also talked to a Ranger last year and she said as long as its no real muddy the trail should be open. The July 15 is an estimated date. We won&39;t know until we get up there. Yes you do need a US Forest service pass to park in the snowmobile parking. BUT if you park just past that off the main road you should be ok. There are a lot of turn a rounds on the road. Also there is enough parking for 3-4 rigs with trailers right at the unofficial trail head. It&39;s on a spur road off the main road. You wont get checked for a Forest Service pass there. I have been going up there for along time and never had any trouble with parking or being on the trail. I have however been checked for ORV tabs at the end of the trail in eastern Washington by the ORV police. Yes there is such a thing as ORV police. I think im probably gonna bring my Kodiak and ill be driving the DODGE.

I noticed you were one of the few, with little to no posts. Come to Easton, the more the merryer. You are supposed to pay a $5 park fee, for the day, FYI. Other than that people seem to saddle up and head out, by about 9:00 Saturday.

Do you ride right out of the campground? Is there day parking in the campground?

Sounds good. A friend of mine has only been on her quad a few times. It is kinda a slow going thing, but she rode/walked evens creek and Belfair with us, but there again it was a slow ride. You think she would be okay? Are there many bail out points to get back to the parking area?

The day use parking lot is right next to our campsites, it's just a big gravel area.

It's 80% dirt roads with trails that branch off, it's one of the easiest places to ride around these parts.

II am still in shock about Fred, such a tragedy. He was an Icon in the racing community and will be greatly missed.

They paid a nice tribute to him at Skagit Sat evening after opening ceremonies. Dick and Shawna Whilskey made a memorial lap and then the announcer did a nice eulogy. Beings the Friday night races rained out the purse money that would have transferred over to Sat nights program were donated to the Brownfield family. The drivers and car owners voted to donate it, so Steve Beitler will be sending a check for 10,000 to Debbie Brownfield. I think that speaks volumes about how the racers respected Fred. I know he had a major impact on my racing when I first started. He helped me out with parts and knowledge and always genuinely appreciated anyone who showed up to support his program. He was a good man.

Julie's hanging in there, we will know more after she see's the specialist this morning, thanks

good morning PSAR

Morning PSAR.

Randy, Julie is in my thoughts, I hope you guys get good news today.

Rod, I am very sorry to hear about Nate. That sucks. Thank him for his service though.

Looks like I will be a day person now. I think. I had the choice to move to a Central office in Mountlake Terrace(which is the job I want, but I don't do well at all with traffic in rush hour) or stay in the "new improved" call center in Everett. I struggled with the choice, but I am staying in Everett for many reasons. I am hoping to have the opportunity to move to a job north within a year as well as complete school. I am not looking forward to where they are relocating us, but it's better than unemployment. I think.

I know this is an old(for this thread) topic, but here's my 2 cents. Unions are what they are. Being a member of a sometimes less than effective union, I can honestly say, I have great benefits because of them and this company would have stripped us of most of them by now if we weren't union. However, I believe most unions today have turned into something that are not really so much for the worker anymore as they are about their own profit margin.
I have to agree about with whoever said the contract is mostly about making sure everyone is treated the same. The contract sometimes makes dealing with problem employees a more drawn out process, but it also protects us from management(or other employees) that may make judgements and treat some differently based on personal feelings and or predjudices. It's purpose is to make sure everyone is on equal footing. If you have read this far, this is JMHO as a union member. I am not always happy with the union, but I wouldn't want to work for this company without them.

Well, after reading many articles, forum posts and talking to a couple of 4x4 club presidents, I'm gonna pass on the Naches Trail ride this Saturday. There seems to be some confusion as to when it legally opens up for motorized traffic, especially on the Greenwater side. Everywhere I read it states July 15th, some say it depends on the condition of the trail and recent weather. I'll just wait until July 15th, so to not ruffle any feathers, don't need to give the greenies any amunition.

I'm waiting too. I called the Naches Ranger District # and even though it was past the operating hours the message said most all of the higher elevation trails are impassable due to snow and/or runoff due to the warming temperatures.

You know, I was reluctant to post this to begin with, but I've had a few beers now and well, I'll say it anyway...

I've been to the Skagit Speedway a few times over the years and have really enjoyed the races. I've helped out some friends in the pits a few times in Wenatchee and Spokane upon invitation, just as an extra hand, definitely not for my technical abilities... The things I saw and heard when I was there really shine within our group as well. Individuals contributing selflessly and helping other out. Why, because it's not only the right thing to do, but it's like helping family. We're all out there to have a great time, and the more people that contribute, the better the event is for everyone. Some people, and it sounds like Fred is one, that contribute so much they shape the sport without knowing or purposefully doing so. They're just good people.

Even though I haven't heard his name before tonight, Fred and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

But what's even more striking to me, is that this can be anyone of us. Sometimes we're out there and take risks in the name of having fun... and in an instant, you could be gone. From what I've read in the posts, Fred may not have been thinking he was taking any risks. I didn't think I was taking huge risks a few times and was carted away to the hospital... I was lucky, I got to go to the hospital.

My point isn't to stand on a soap-box and blab endlessly, but it's just to say: Be safe, not only on the machines, but off as well. It only takes one small thing to happen and we're attending your memorial service...

I am starting to suspect you have something up your sleeve You still won't be able to beat the stock Rancher on the trials though hr>

2mny can bury your rancher before you knew what hit it.

Don't look to me for smokin' anybody on the trails... I can barely ride the trails myself. However, Hauser road is fun to race down...

Hold off on saying no just yet I will call my buddy at the forest service and get the legal details.

I find when I look under the Naches Trail that it says closed until July 15th. But when I look up the Naches Basin OHV area it says it's open to riding. See here;

This is one response I recieved:

Note that the section of the trail that is closed in the winter time is not owned by the Naches Ranger District, it's the section on this side of the mountains.

The trail is (currently) open year 'round from FS1900 in the Little Naches River basin, to Government Meadows, but is usually not passable with wheels until July 15th anyway. The section from FS70 in Greenwater to Government Meadows is the section with the seasonal closure. While the closure of the trail was originally weather related, is it still closed, regardless of the conditions, until July 15th. A couple of years ago, when the 15th fell on a Sunday, the Forest Service had a ranger stationed just in from the entrance of the trail, sitting at a folding table and handing out tickets to anyone who came that far on Saturday the 14th.

Larry,,we went there in june the 1st time,,,,,and the only thing that limited us,,,,,was the snow, the campgrounds were locked and a lot of the road were taken over by loggers

i can remember being pissed that i had driven all that way just to not ride

we ended up at beverly instead,,,,you can imagine the disappointment

we rode the area the 2nd time in august,,,,,,much better

i would wait if i were in your shoes

Mornin' PSAR

I will wait on a Naches Trail ride. I suspect that with the large snowpack we had this winter that the top is still snow covered. That is what the recording at the Naches Ranger District said.
Like bing said, I will not drive that far to be stopped by snow or a closed trail. Let's wait till August or September.

Ahhh tencubed friends don't let friends run Mac's

Mac's are the devil

Did bobby bouchet's momma say that?

Yes She did!!!

img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Knew buying a Mac would bring the rabid PC'ers out in the open. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Linda has used Mac's in the past and I wanted somthing that would do vidio stuff really easy. My laptop was a year old Sony with a bunch of ram and such in it. Works great for what SWMBO does. I got the new puter - - - - again img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Mac's dont have the virus issues that PC's can have and are easier to do vidio stuff on. I need all the simplicity I can get. This new puter is just slightly larger than the laptops with the keyboard extra. Going to put a wireless keyboard on it to cut down on the clutter. Should, after some practice, be able to make some rather nice home vidios.

Glad to hear he is doing better. I'm sure he'll continue to improve. Best of luck to you all.

I'm up in the air on Horn Rapids. If we go we have to leave Friday. My dad is going that way and wants to follow us.
When can you head over there?
How much fuel cost to drive your beast over there?
I'm open to options................
Only thing is that Bob and his 2 kids asked if they could sleep with us. They are leaving from HR and going to Montana and don't want to take his
