As for the drag racing results,
22" Haulers won the races on flats ( Larry and Randy ) ( Larry and Rod )
20" Haulers and 20" Sandstars were even on the flats ( Larry and Rod )
20" Haulers were winners over 20" Sandstars on the hills ( Larry and Rod )
A +4 swingarm will win you races on the flats
Bottom Line:
22" Haulers will win you races on the flats and hills
20" Sandstars are a fun tire for general duning, but not for drag racing

From my observation point, all races were won and lost by 1/2 - 2 quad lengths
The second fastest quad I saw was the young lady on the Banshee, she smacked down everybody, except for the guy on the blue banshee parked next to Josh and Marcie.

Good evening PSAR. We had a fabulous time at Florence. The weather was so awesome!!! I would have stayed another day if at all possible, but with only two weeks to go, I didn't dare.
My little family unit didn't have too much carnage - a sunburn, sore hand, funky stuff on the ds, and a couple of ticks - it was all good BR>
Bikes were ridden and raced, yes, Josh gave Jayna a couple of photo opps but no ouchies other than Brian's dad I think.
PredEd and wife have absolutely adorable kids! Mariah will be happy to have a playmate and the little ones!
This was a great trip!

Florence was great except for sitting in the ER in Eugene for 6 hrs Friday night. Pops just got done telling my little brother to be careful of razorbacks and 30 seconds later, he is on his way to the ER. Shattered the inside bone of the left wrist. and it was twisted until the ortho surgeon tweaked it back into place. Justin said on the way home Pops freaked out about something and hear a pop and was in the same amount of pain when I saw him. He is in Wasougal Med right now having surgery done to wrap the bone back together. Other than catering to Pops all weekend, it was awesome. Can't wait to do that again.

Made it home. What an AWESOME trip!!! I almost think I played too hard. I was completely worn out after the last ride Randy Chris and I took. Got some awesome pictures of the holeshots and a couple videos of Randy coming out of the pondshots. I have a bunch of great pics from the whole weekend.
The R450 was perfect. It took me everywhere I wanted to go and easily pulled me out of everything I took it down. I had to go buy new rims for the front tires because RMATV sent me +3 or +4 offsets with no way to flip them and it was WAAAAY to wide for the first ride. Almost unstable. Found a set that had no offset, dropped to a 13-tooth front sprocket and it made a world of difference. LOVED IT!
It clung to the sidehills like it was glued to them, even in the very soft sand. I was even able to sit down coming up most of the really steep holeshots without the front end lifting up at all, instead of having to stand up over the front bumper like I did with the stock swing arm on the Z400. It wasn't too wide for anything we rode except going around one tree and I was able to pull it around it and shoot out of the hole no problem. I am absolutely tickled pink with it.
Since I geared it down for hill climbing, I wasn't expecting it to beat all the boys who were racing, and I didn't line up before I re-geared. I would be curious to see what the difference would be though. Maybe next time.

Put the same tires on his and mine, we are even. There were little tricks up the sleeves that gave an edge. On the hill, I saw Randy and Jim win 99% of their races. Tires and gearing make a huge difference. It was fun racing.

The Races at the hill were a good time but the tree shots and pond shots were a total gas BR>
Larry, thanks for letting me run your haulers Friday and Sat. They are the Chit for Drag racing. After taking them off and running my sand stars on Sunday I can tell the Haulers are the better tire but I still like my sandstars for playing in the tree shots and pond shots, they are a good all around play tire.
Well I'm going to take a nap, we left at 5PM sunday and drove till midnight and stopped at the Scatter Creek rest area and hopped in the camper for a power snooze and just as I was dozing off I hear this banging on my back door, I'm like WTF!! so I yell who the F is there??? Some one yells it's Mike!! I yell I don't know any Mike, WTF do you want. He says I need some money! I said well your SOL cause I ain't opening this door. (Make note to self, never forget the 44 again) He finally left, Julies freaking out by now so after it was all clear we got the hell out of there. Then as I was driving out the Dumb azz came running out in front of the truck from back in the tree's so I just gassed it up and he finally got out of the way . Friggen crack head So we made it to the fedral way rest area and took a snooze there then headed on home at 5 this morning.
Other than that it was an awesome trip with perfect weather and good people to ride and hangout with.

THIS JUST IN.... the Skagit Motorcycle Club are hosting a trail BUILDING DAY at Walker Valley. The date is sunday July 9th. we are having two work crews. 9-12 am lunch from 12-1. second shift from 1-4. We are only asking for volunteers for 1 shift. If you choose to work both shifts that would be great.
What we need from you
Ute quads with trailers to carry rocks and brick
bring your own shovels, rakes, ect. We are building brand new trails, we have a permit for nine new ones BR>a few small chainsaws
if you have little handheld motorola type radios that would be great.
the following will be provided
lunch and non alky drinks
a special edition "construction t shirt"

I had a pretty fun weekend. Justin and I had a mud bog contest with his friends. There was 5 jeeps/cruisers and nobody made it completely through are mud hole. First person to make it to the end gets a case of beer. LOL
Justin broke a u-joint. I broke either the transfer case, or transmission on my jeep. I guess i shouldn't have revved it up so loud and slammed it into second, to get a big roost??? LOL Had one neighbor all pissed off as justin was playing in the field. He just has headers on his cruiser so you can imagine how loud it is. LOL I took a picture of her with her hands on her hips. LOL I love my neighbors!!!!!

We didnt catch much I cought a 48" White sturgeon within 15minutes of throwin my line out and then we found nothing for 10 hours.. From the sounds of the people i know that had been down there fishing they were finshin a lil farther west than us in the shallows.. which we were fishing the shallows. but prolly shoulda maybe gone more towards the astoria bridge or even on the other side of it. boat netted 3 fish Friggin amatuers at sturgeon. thats only my second time.. We will go agin here in a couple weeks. Im thinkin about fishin up near bonniville for some lunkers around the may time frame next year.. It would be sweet to hook a 10 footer On light tackle.. I got a lil bit of a sunburn. and i posted a picture of the lil sturgeon on my MSN spaces page.. Link in my signature.. I dunno if the fish or horses will come up first.. I updated pics of both..
Sunday I trimmed my horses feets and posted some pics for a friend to check out. I been tryin to teach her what matters in hoofs and what you dont need to be concerned about.. She was out on an orienteering ride this weekend in the high country of eastern oregon and her horse thats converting to barefoot chipped out in the qtrs.. wich if you know about horse feets that makes no differnce in the function of the hoof and its a perfectly natural thing for them to bust out the qtrs. If you look at my pics you will see i left the qtrs high on my hoofs.. i did this on purpose to show her what happens when you leave em vs dish them out. Shoe's on my horse... NEVER!!! My last horse I used to shoe.. that was fun to learn but Barefoot is the way to go if you have the terrain to support a more natural lifestyle for the critters.. We didnt catch much I cought a 48" White sturgeon within 15minutes of throwin my line out and then we found nothing for 10 hours.. From the sounds of the people i know that had been down there fishing they were finshin a lil farther west than us in the shallows.. which we were fishing the shallows. but prolly shoulda maybe gone more towards the astoria bridge or even on the other side of it. boat netted 3 fish Friggin amatuers at sturgeon. thats only my second time.. We will go agin here in a couple weeks. Im thinkin about fishin up near bonniville for some lunkers around the may time frame next year.. It would be sweet to hook a 10 footer On light tackle.. I got a lil bit of a sunburn. and i posted a picture of the lil sturgeon on my MSN spaces page.. Link in my signature.. I dunno if the fish or horses will come up first.. I updated pics of both..
Sunday I trimmed my horses feets and posted some pics for a friend to check out. I been tryin to teach her what matters in hoofs and what you dont need to be concerned about.. She was out on an orienteering ride this weekend in the high country of eastern oregon and her horse thats converting to barefoot chipped out in the qtrs.. wich if you know about horse feets that makes no differnce in the function of the hoof and its a perfectly natural thing for them to bust out the qtrs. If you look at my pics you will see i left the qtrs high on my hoofs.. i did this on purpose to show her what happens when you leave em vs dish them out. Shoe's on my horse... NEVER!!! My last horse I used to shoe.. that was fun to learn but Barefoot is the way to go if you have the terrain to support a more natural lifestyle for the critters.. When the Shad run is on below John Day Dam you can absolutly wear yourself out catching and releasing them. We usually keep a few to process into Sturgion bait.
For Sturgion I have fished at Astoria, below Bonniville and below The Dalles Dams. Each area has it's own tricks and techniques that work for the big fish. Basicly it boils down to big baits for big fish. How the bait is rigged in each area makes a major differance. My favorite area is from the John Day Dam to just below Celilo Falls park. Couple of holes we have hooked fish we couldn't get to come off the bottom. Biggest one we ever had along side the boat was a little longer than the 12' tape we had with us. That was at the 109 hole across from Maryhill Park. Great fun but I haven't figured out how to fish for them from the quad. I really like to let the horses go barefoot as well and most of the time that will work out fine. When working with one horse for several days at a time in rocky country I believe it is better to have them shod. Too much of a chance of having hoof trouble when its quite a ways to a road. Kind of like putting Slime in your tires.

Yup.. but No need for shoes on my pony.. if im goin in the rugged chit i just put on some sneakers and away we go Easyboots I don't need the nails thru the hoofwalls. But really i have no problem with barefooters.. I have burned 50 miles in a day on gravel and big stone in capitol forrest and had no problems. when we took the horses out and were riding loggin roads and stuff lookin for deer i put the boots on just cuz no matter what your doin riding on arrowheads all day aint that good for the feets.

The sand was great, plenty of wind so it was smooth and fluffy on top, but there were a lot of craters and witches eyes out on the open dunes. The Sand was a little heavy in some places as the water table seemed to be pretty high yet. All in all it was great riding. It was to bad about WT's dad, I hope everything turns out ok for him.

The 450 was runnin' like chit. High RPM's it was gone but as soon as you shifted and gave it a little gas it just sputtered. We ended up scrapping it out for tires and fuel after my Racher smoked it on the flats LMAO

This Banshee boy was about half the size of the other Banshee boys, so Jayna's friend wouldn't have been needed. The Banshee girl looked like she weighed about 85 pounds!

BTW K-9 Fishing depending on the species your after can require some pretty heavy gear.. I had on a 135 lb husky/malimut/mastiff/rotty cross and let me tell you. I was usin some Big saltwater gear and he was kickin my ass. when you get in a stale mate with em its tough... I bet they would lead better with a hook I fish for Muddy in the pond some times. Thats fun I broke a pole dog fishing though

Whoever did this is responsible for some devistationg effects thats for sure. From the way I read the story it sounds to me like the fish were probably loaded into a truck of some type. I really doubt if they were transported somwhere and released due to the shear volume of water that would have been required in a tank truck to accomplish this. More likely they were sold to some fish buyer. Watch for them to show up in a processing plant outside this area. That is if they are ever found at all.

Whew! Tough morning and part of the afternoon. Must have done at least an hours work! Filled the sprayer on the quad and sprayed around the house so I don't have to use a weedwhacker. Also shot some Scotch Broom and berry vines.
I've used the power outlet on the front of the quad to run this same sprayer a number of times with no problems, today it ran for about two minutes and quit. Fuse not blown but no power to the outlet. Bypassed it and hooked to the battery direct but this bothers me. Sure don't want to start having electrical problems with this quad. BR>

Mornin PSAR, well Julies problem with her eye turned out to be worse than I ever imagined. We had thought it was just allergies acting up when we were down in florence. It just kept getting worse and worse. She has been to the eye specialist every day this week so far as well as the MD's and they have determined she has a fungus type of infection in her eye. At one point they were not sure if she would lose her eye or not. They have saved her eye but she may still have a permanent vision loss in the eye, and scar tissue at the very least. They can't tell us for sure what caused it, but it may be something she was using with her contacts. We have been having to put 3 different kinds of medication in her eye every hour on the hour day and night two different kinds of special drops and a paste. She goes back in today at 11:00 am again for some kind of procedure. Monday they had to scrape her eye to remove the fungus and she is in a great deal of pain. They said yesterday that there was a slight improvment so she is responding to the meds. It kills me to see her hurting so bad and there's nothing I can do to help her. To add insult to injury the focking insurance company is not paying for the special meds as they are compounded and non formulary. Poor thing, she has a nasty sinus infection to boot so she's double miserable. I'll keep everone posted as to how she's doing.

Randy, what kind of solution did she use for her contacts?? I'm not sure if you guys heard about this or not, but renu had a big law suit against them because whatever was in there solution was making people go blind. I for one used Renu never had any problems and when i heard about this, i switched ASAP.
That sucks that she is going through this. Tell her we all said to heal up quick, and take care of her.

Randy, We hope Julie's eye and sinus' get better, we'll keep you guys in our prayers. I use Renu for my contacts as well and have had issues with my left eye as of late, looks like I will be making a switch also.
