Hap, you could also call either Les Schwab or one of the shops in Florence to see if they have Haulers in Stock. Scwhab did last year when I was having trouble with mine. Since they are on the dunes and that's their market, they carry alot more in stock of what their customers will need for that.

well the DS runs and rides....seems to hold in to first gear now..(what little riding I did)
the clutch is grabbie so it still seems to be hard to shift out of gear at a stop...I think the clutch plates (steels) are warped ...but clutch was not in the budget at this time....so now it has a new shiftfork, new bearings in the lower end,new ringsall new seals and gaskets...It started right up and no smoke....had one little oil leak but got that fixxed....so now I cant say I have never split the case on a quad engine...(and my first didnt have to be mine)

Finally got the nerfs and K&N installed today. Wasn't so sure about how the nerfs/propegs fit together on the frame, didn't seem like they would be attached very tightly. Got them all fixed up slicker than snot on a doorknob though. I like the flat black look. Stopped by the TP/RG/BarBpakr house for a matching part, but they had all run away. TP, SPM.
It was nice to visit with MB and peek around the new digs a bit. I like the holeshots that you showed me, what was the model and did we discuss if they were 4-ply or 2-ply? I think those are my next upgrade.
The K&N was a biyatch. Had to pull the whole subframe and exhaust to get the airbox out. Finally got the adapter installed and found the Filter wouldn't fit in the box on the adapter unless I cut out the bolt bracket for the stock filter. Glad I got a chance to fiddle with this stuff before I was ready to pack up for Florence. What a pain! I might just get to depart on Wedesday. Wahoo!!!

Well Wonderboy & I went up to Hannegan last night & had a good time!! DAYUMMMMMM I'd never seen him or the quad go that FAAASSSTTTTT img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> He was stoked hahaha that was the 1st time on a big track w/ Eleanore she runned good & seemed to put down some good lap times(stop watch had a dead battery the 1st couple times he was last out on the track & reeled them in up to 2nd img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> then ran out of laps!! He really wanted to try the TT but he refrained from it good boy!!!! The new set up worked GREAT & I'm VERY happy we got him that sway bar it takes ALOT of stress off of me haha img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
The last run out he was 1st out & Ms. Swain was 2nd hmmmm by the end he was almost a straight ahead of her & pulling away more img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0"> until someone spun out & got spit off as DJ was LAPPING him img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">so they ended it there!!! DJ got pushed into the fluff once but didn't have any issues, he said if he would of wiped out going that fast he would of been "smeared" on the track LOL what a goofball!!!!!!
I will say HOLY CRAP did those Hoosiers get worn BIG TIME!! The track was wet/lumpy it seemed @ first but by the end the 1st turn was total blue groove he said he had her hooking up good!! He started w/ his 13/40 gearing then went to 13/36
Anyway that was our night we had a good time he thought it was cool he got to pull up to the track in HIS truck w/ his quad in the back he got a few thumbs on on the freeway so he thought that was cool too hahaha the things that teenage boys think are cool img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> Gotta love him!!! It's possible but it won't hold up for the kind of riding you do. It will get scratched all to hell in no time and then look like crap, black is the worst, it looks great when it's in good shape but looks like hell when it's scratched up so I would not reccomend it.
It works fine on a Dune only machine with race cut fenders in my experience, but take it from me prepping and painting plastic is a royal pain in the Azz and if you don't do it yourself it ain't cheap. Paint materials are very expensive and the process is labor intensive. For what you would have to pay someone to do it you could buy new plastic in the color of your choice that would hold up better. I don't know what choices you would have with a ute as far as plastic goes as I've never considered doing a Ute.

Oh, I've ridden in the rain and very hard downpours. But for a short couple hour break-in ride I'd rather not. Especially with the technical trail at Walker.

Fellows, it is possible to do a yard project right the first time! OFC your one of the few here in the Metro area that knows not to overfeed a horse I do believe. I see all these potbellied hayburner yard pets standing around with hoves grown way out, manes and tails untrimmed and Bot fly eggs all over their front quarters. Makes me sad that they are being ruined and even killed with "kindness" by apparently well meaning owners. We are keeping fewer horses all the time and use quads more and more in their place. Some ways I am sorry to see the horses go but the economics and productivity issues can not be ignored. Owners like you that know not to grain and overfeed a horse will also take care of all the other stuff that needs to be done. I'm glad you enjoy being around the beasts but for me I think the quads are the way to go.

FOCKIN HORSES.. Im sure ive mentioned tha orchard grass bales are way to focking heavy. and i had to throw them up to 16' and 6' over my head. Im tired. pretty sure that was the last session of sqaure bales i wanna do. fed outta orchard grass round bales all winter by unrolling them in the barn and just filling a wheel barrow for the horses. thats so much easier than movin bales by hand. bigger bales = a machine to move BR>
I feed everything the same. horses, dogs, people. if you aint doin much you dont need to eat as much.
I'll agree.. a couple horses is ok. but when you have double digits its too much. then all you can do is crap for horses. Mocycles and quads shut the key off and park em.. feed em when you wanna ride em BR>
