What kind of work is involved in a valve job?? I have never done it and I don't know if the shop did it but how do I know when I should do one or how serious it will have to be before I have to do one.

LOL
Mine and Joel's type of "valve adjustment"? Or a regular valve adjustment?
BigD, Larry or Bing can help you with adjusting the valves on a Rappy!

there are valve ajustments that really mean adjusting the Valves, and the there are the expensive ones that add horsepower and displacement

It's easy if you have the right tools
Front plastic , tank, intake and exhaust covers off
Check the clearance with a feeler gauge
They're either gonna be tight, loose or just right
Motion Pro sells the feeler gauges and a nifty little Tappet Socket Set that makes the job alot easier
The shops probably check the intake and if they're close, they may not adjust them, the exhaust are almost always within tolerance

gonna get an intravenus needle if it goes much longer
pedalite kiddie beverage, it will put the goodstuff in ya. If you can keep it down for as little as 5 minutes, you will begin to feel better.
i kept it down for 2 hours,,,,then right back out
pedialite is what the pharmacy recommended

LdyJay: Takes a while to get used to working weekends and making plans with folks that have weekends off but I suspect you will like it. SWMBO and I had that kind of schedule for a number of years and really liked it. Having time off durning the week does make for a lot less crowded camping, fishing and such and also makes it really easy to take care of medical appointments and other business stuff. I really think the advantages outweigh the problems that come up. One of the big advantages is the big bosses seldom, if ever, are interfearing with getting the work done. You may not have that problem where you work but most folks will understand this. The 4-10s is a sweet shift. Hope it works for you.
Yeah, that's a lot of the reason I honestly liked working graveyard the last three years. It was the schedule I could get with my seniority with the most flexibility to still do the things I wanted to. I work to live, not live to work. Nice thing is, I have a good deal of vacation time so I can still probably swing a day ride here and there on the weekend. Of course, I already have the Florence and Horsfall trips reserved off. Wahoo!

I have an extra site reserved for Florence on Friday and Saturday. June 9 and 10. Site number 6 on the outside of the loop. If anyone wants it, you can pay me the $40 and save yourself the $9 reservation fee. If you come down Thursday, it shouldn't be occupied and you will probably just be able to pay that night at the campground. Otherwise, I am going to give the site up and get my money back or reserve a site on different dates. Please let me know. I will probably dump it by the end of the week if no interest.

Morning everyone!!!
What a crappy weekend, for weather! I did get alot of outside work done though. My yard sure is starting to look good, just need to trim some rhodies back, and do some more weedeating. I had two weedeaters and they both took a crap this weekend. One is electric and it started smoking bad, so that is in the pile for the dump, the second one wont stay running and it's a 2 stroke. Justin worked on it for alittle bit. He thinks the carb keeps getting clogged, so he cleaned that out several times. Got two sides of the garage sided. One more side then it's onto the gables, and sheeting the carport. Looking forard to this weekend so i can get the rest of my yard done.
Everyone have a great day.
Congrats on the promo MB.
I hope you feel better bing. What ever you have sure does sound nasty.
Hows the recovery coming, TP??

Ok i need to ask a question that you guys have already answered. I wrote down what you guys told me but can't find the paper now. Anyways my nephews birthday is in 2 days. I planned on getting his name and number on his jersey. I looked on everett mall's website and it doesn't look like the store that prints on t-shirts ins't there anymore. Has anybody been there lately and can correct me if i'm wrong? Where would i get it done at, and also who would do the chest protector?

Has anybody been there lately and can correct me if i'm wrong? Where would i get it done at, and also who would do the chest protector?
If you buy a jersey @ Motoplex I believe it is they will do the name # for free I do believe, otherwise you can do it yourself they sell the kits @ your local bike shop very easy to do if you have an iron!!
As for the chest protector Tom @ RPM Signs in Arlington can do it anyway you want it img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> his # is 360-651-9221
Hope this helps you out!!

It's going OK. Just sitting here disolving pills into the blood stream. We took the brace off last night, that was like the best 10 minutes of my life. I started getting nervous though, and had to get it back on. Needed the security blanket to protect me.

??? ummm... I dunno.. Saturday I spent 12 hours runnin the Chainsaw fallin trees and sizing them. the running the saw part is easy. the packing it all over the hillsides is a mother BLEEEPER.... Sunday I cut the rest of the trees then ran dozer for a while.. we are making a new pasture so the trees had to leave.
Riding on sunday evning was with my uncle on the poo 700 my bro on his bomb 800 and me on my ol warrior 350 I was blasting thru the brush smashing thru fallin branches and small trees makin a trail then we went down and git the warrior stuck so the Utes could drag me outta the canyon It was fun. well i coulda done with out 5 minutes of steady roost of giant mud globs.

If you need a home for those trees you can always bring them to my house.

Give it acouple more days and you will be getting bored out of your mind. RG is going to have to take you on a car ride, just so you can get out. Good thing it's been kind of crappy weather. If it's sunny out then your going to want to probably want to ride the RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! So what kind of talk shows/ soap operas are you watching now? LOL DR Phil? Young and the restless? This is for all the gainfully unemployed, sneaks who escape from work and the those of leasure! I'm thinking a mid-week ride, wednesday or thursday, Capitol Forest or the Shelton Fairgrounds. Both days and places work for me. Any other takers? This time of year during the week pretty much means the place is ours.

Good morning PSAR! Been out with the dog visiting folks and enjoying the day. Got a smile from one old dude that usually has no reactions at all. Big leap forward today. Makes it all worthwhile. BR>
Glad to see the PSAR wounded list folks are healing up. Maybe the Corgi Dog needs to make a couple of house calls, he seems to have magical healing powers.
Have a good day. And wear your shades for all this sunshine.

Does anybody that lives up north know the name of the store inside the mall that does the t-shirts? I looked on the directory and i can't find it. Acouple of years ago it was right outside of Mr. Bills, then they moved it right next to the food court. Anybody have any ideas?

Hey Josh,
Do you know Chris Ralph ???????
I think you already had left, but he wrecked really hard.
Cleared the big table top to far, came down nose first and augered himself into the ground head first.
If any of you have seen it, you know how far and how tall it is............
He "appeared" to be in not to bad of shape.
But had a definate head injury, with some swelling going on I'm sure.
Hard to keep him awake by the time they transported him.
Not sure what all injuries he may have had.
Quad didn't look bad at all, hardly any damage I think.
Hope he gets better soon.
Lesson number two for me....
I'm to old to chase an 11 y/o girl on a 250 around an MX track, and try to keep up with her.
The lil stinker evidentally wanted nothing to do with dad being on her back bumper img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">BR>I was so tired it wasn't funny, but I've also never seen her that tired when she came off the track. hehehehe.

Next week I'll be at the farm, probably for eight or ten days depending on how the work and remodel go. SWMBO just got called and has agreed to work on Thursday so our plans for that day are changed. I would be available for even a short ride if you are interested.

Come on Larry, I've had my 450, excuse me, 480R apart and back together 4 times now in the past two weeks.
Just put it back together an hour ago and started it up. She purrs like a kitten. Now I'm letting it cool down to see if the valve seal replacement fixed the problem. Keeping my fingers crossed.

So maybe next week or the week after. I try for at least one mid week ride if not 2. Too soon for me to know about saturday, SHMBO is off saturday and sunday this week.
Next week I'll be at the farm, probably for eight or ten days depending on how the work and remodel go. SWMBO just got called and has agreed to work on Thursday so our plans for that day are changed. I would be available for even a short ride if you are interested.
Thursday works for me. You want to ride Capitol or Shelton Fairgrounds? What time do you want to meet up?

Well, wednesday now looks better for me than thursday as I have to back in Shelton by 4PM to see the Doc on thursday now. Thursday still works, but will just be a slightly shortened for me.

Doctor Death put xoxoxo on my leg. Oh a little heart. I think my doctor is little fruity. It was weird, we just unwrapped it, and I had to lay back. RG was like does it hurt? No I just need a few deep breaths. 7 staples, and a knarley bruise.
You prolly don't relize how good a shower can feel, though.

Well you all talked me into going to Florence! I have my old man bringing my brother for his farewell trip before he joins the service. Good old camping camping trip. I will have to double and triple check to make sure that the tent poles are in with the tent this time!!!!!! What could I do to my bike to make it go fast for a relitively good price??? Stage 2 cam and springs or PCI? BOTH, right like the midgit will let me have that.

No, not yet. I'm still looking at what components I need to run a hard hitting reliable wet system that is independant of the EFI system. I'm not into the boondocker or Noss dry systems and I don't want any other EFI controller other than the PCIII that I have, so a stand alone bottle regulated wet system with a seperate fuel supply is what I will eventually end up with. I'll go with either the NX or NOS brand components with a fogger nozzle downstream of the throttle body as close to the valves as possible and a micro switch on the throttle body that when the system is armed and the bottle is open will inject fuel and N2o at WOT. Before the N2o I will need an after market rod and piston combo as well as a cam, AM valves, port & polish ETC to insure that the engine will handle a 30 to 50 HP shot of spray, so I am still aways off. I hope to get the engine mods done this coming winter.

Doin' good! Gettin' the itch to ride, but that ain't gonna happen too soon.
Sounds like you're gonna need a longer swing-arm or a wheelie bar if you had a little time and money on your hands.

I guess a wrench won't do any good, without something to set it at.

Not familiar with where Shelton Fairgrounds are, been to Rock Candy once. Why don't you pick a spot, give me directions from Burien and tell me what time. I'm free all day so any time is good.
Shelton is 15 miles north of Olympia on Hwy 101, 14 miles from where Hwy 8 and 101 split. You pass the split about 5 miles before you hit Rock Candy on Hwy 8. I don't have a favorite between the 2 and once I'm loaded up either works for me. If I have to choose I would pick Shelton because lately there has been no one there at all during the week. But Rock Candy works as well for me.

I'm in discussion about getting the time off.
The job thing....
The money is right at the new place, weekends off.........
Da Barn stepped up for me I'm getting a "promotion". getting moved into the backroom for shipping and receiving. More doll hairs, 90% of weekends off (gotta work the event weekends).
I need to give the "new" place a final answer tomarrow morning. I think I'll stay at the barn. I have a gut feeling that if I leave, I will regret doing it. (sompin about wearing shorts in January). You folks kick azz, and I really enjoy seeing you all, even OFC img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
Right on, glad to hear your staying at the Barn! It sounds like things worked out well for you

Good to hear the Barn stepped up! Gut feelings are usually good instincts. Would have missed harrassing you when I come to spend more money there! Congrats on the upward movement.

You got that right, I'm scared of it's power, don't know if I'll be able to handle it with the new mods, besides still waiting to see how Kenzs 4 Mill Stroker turns out
