But then, I wasn't dry from the previous trip trying to float it down the creek. DM, I might have some fishies in my boots you can have for your pond! Thanks for the rescue everyone. Let's see, I went with a FMF Megamax slip on, jumped up to a 110 main (I think) and put four airbox vents in the lid. Also a 1/4 turn - 1/2 out on the air/fuel mixture screw.
No nerfs.

Mine was upright, but the creek was moving swiftly and I was trying to take an alternate route that was supposed to be shallower than the 3.5 feet we were pushing through at the normal x-ing spot. as soon as it started spinning tires and throwing water all over me, I had to bail to try to get out. As soon as I bailed from the quad it started downstream towards a tree. I was very very wet after that and had one more ride to do.
I gotta say, that R450 hauls the mail around the rails out there. I got to flat fly and it took the potholes and corners like a dream. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Well glad to see it's NOT raining this morning just the "little" we got I was sick of real quick haha
Well we took Wonderboy, the Brown Kid, Trev, Ron & I out to dinner & Kart TRaxx last night for DJ's BD & had a GOOD time!! The 3 big boys did good thier 1st race they ended 1st,2nd,3rd It was Ron, DJ & Kyle in that order, Kyle got the fastest lap time of that race!! There was alot of people there too. They did 2 races each, the 2nd one there were a couple guys out there being a little rude but it was all good funny to watch!!
Trev even got to drive the karts upstairs he done GREAT for his 1st time, the first run he was by himself & the guy gave him 3 stars on his "ability" after the 2nd race he was up to 4 out of 5 He drove really good & figured out how to counter steer after the 1st few laps!! I didn't race but am glad I didn't after watching the 3 guys shaking thier hands/wrists hahaha
Just fair warning DON'T eat @ King's Buffet in Everett by Harbor Freight BLAHHHHHHH that place was a PIG STY & didn't have near the good food the one in Marysville has

Killer food last night,,,,roasted pork and cheesy potatoes were awesome......so was the shortcake and the shortcake lady!!! BR>

nice to meet all the new faces too!!! Wish i could have done a little more riding,,,,but nothing is tense or tight today,,,,so I have accomplished my goal BR>

Thats interesting. The Kodiak was comfortable for Linda as well. She says our P360 feels too big but the Kodiak she liked. Thanks for your input.
My wife likes her Arctic Cat 250. She says my 400 is just too BIG. But she has always been a manual shift person.
My wife hates to shift gears, she even wanted me to buy an automatic in the pickup! One of the few "decisions" I won.

DM, I agree, it does seem spendy going to the dyno to get your jetting dialed in but think of it this way, you spend all the money doing the mods on your quad and for another couple hundred bucks you can get the combination optimized and get your monies worth out of a tidy sum invested in mods plus pick up another 2- 4 HP, and know the A/F ratio is as close to spot on for your riding area as you can get as they use a wide band sensor for dialing the A/F ratio. As a bonus it takes the time and trouble and guess work out of riding , doing a plug reading, changing jets and repeating till you get close enough that you call it good. I haven't regreted for a minute taking my 700R to the dyno.

Now to tune the carb on the Z so it runs like it should. Poor thing is having clutch issues to. Hopefully just cable adjustment since it's a new clutch. Sorry to the victims of the rock shower when it was acting up on the mountain. I actually had a slack cable then and it wasn't coming out of gear. Now it's slipping too. Grrr. Time to tinker and get it ready for the dunes.
Maybe clean some quads today. Didn't even open the trailer yesterday.
Chris, I saw you bombing right along after me. I really do like that R450. I just get nervous on blind corners, but other than that, Easton is a great place to fly. img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Can't wait for the DUNES!

I have the top end of my quad off STILL our broken off bolt has started to become a nightmare for ME!!!!!!!1 I know I know your probably all sick of hearing about it haha I need some help though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the top piece that has the valves/springs in it, the easy out broke off in the broken bolt is there ANYONE on here that has fixed one similar to this & if so CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME OUT????????????????????????????? I would really like to get it back together SOME DAY & be able to ride this summer Thanks

Looking at the Holeshots for the 250ex.
Recreation Tire has 18x10x9 Holeshot MXR4 on 9x8 wheels for $212
RMATV has same 18x10x9 Holeshot MXR6 (basically same tire) on 9x9 wheels for $204
Obviously the 9" wide wheels will widen it out a little and the tire profile will be a liitle bit lower.
With your experiences with tires and stuff, do you think there is an advantage with either one???
Any thoughts ????????

Sean.. I am not sure when you talkin about that small of rubberBut with the big rubber i definatly like the 9x9 over the 10 wheels for the back.
The narrower wheel will give you more wheel protection inside the tire and Also allow more absorbtion on landings. the wider wheel Will make the tires more ridgid

Ash only weighs just under 100lbs and won't be jumping or high flying the thing.

I know the wife definately won't be doing any of that.
Ash is just using this thing to get used to a bigger quad on the track and practice shifting.
Only reason to go a bit wider is for a bit more stability, but that much probably won't make a huge difference.

A wider wheel will make the tire stand straighter and have a slicker tight slide if you will. a narrower wheel will allow more flex of the sidewall and a grippier looser feel in the back end. This is my seat of the pants evaluation. i could be full of chit speakin off.. better rush the kids to the pool

Before the end of the day I will be ordering some 26" Maxxis Bighorns on ITP C7 Black wheels for the 800. I think i might get some 22" kenda claws or sompin for one of the warriors for the back cuz its holeshots are bald and i aint using it but for a spare or maybe a captiol forrest quad so i dunno. cheap tires be aww ight for it. the raptor will get 22" razr2s on T9 baja black next go round.

I wouldn't ride a quad with that spacer set on it. If you go 300ex, get 400ex arms. Nice and simple, yet safe.

No i rode with one hand and held my camera in the other hand. taking a 30 second video snippet at a time what i rode the first 7.5 minutes is about a 2 minut lap for me.

Just got back from dinner. It took over 2 hours, no one wanted to leave the table. Dad is acting tuff, seems hardest on my sister. Today has been easier than I would have thought, so I guess that is good.

Maybe one of you guys could help me. Used to be a Riflesmith by the name of Jerry Shannon that had a shop in Spannaway. He passed away a number of years ago, early 80's, and I have been unable to find out what happened to his shop and the tools. He had some brass forming dies that were unique to a couple of wildcat calibres that I modified and I need to have some brass made up or buy the dies to do it myself. Any ideas about his family or where his stuff may have gone? I know his wife moved to Anacortes but she also passed away. I have searched the area for relitives and such but with no success. If you have historic knowlage of the area and can give me any leads I would sure appriciate it.
