Good Evening everyone. I got back from Moses last night, great time. Yard work and pressure washing all day. Back to work in the morning and start getting the quads and trailer ready for Easton.

Are the regulars taking thier regular spots at Easton?? I would like to keep my same one. Don't remember the #, but I know where to park.

You need to put what spot you want in the database, two spots have already been spoken for. Site #38 and #39 are taken, I believe you had #38 last trip.

If anybody wants specific sites, you need to contact Bing and he'll put you down for requested sites, then you can update the database under your name.

We have the same site as last year, but, we were in a tent, with the addition of the MH, we'll see how this one works for us. I feel if you must have a particular site, let the person making reservations know in advance or reserve it yourself. In the future, I may want to try a different site, I hope nobody gets upset about it.

Good Morning PSAR

NO Easton for us I guess Ron didn't get ahold of the shock guy Unless we do a day trip we will see Ron did get his quad back yesterday but I still don't have one Phuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH sorry a little early for name calling BR>Maybe DJ can easy out a bolt & we can be on our way this is once again getting ridiculousimg src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0">BR>
HOpe everyone had a good weeeknd got LOTS of yard work done!!! I am VERY VERY UPSET PO'D w/ WalMart though, Friday night Ron & I went & purchased a couple suckers for our pond well we put them in one was instantly a floater, YES we got them used to the water ect. well the next day the other was dead & yesterday morning Ron went to feed the 10 OTHERS & THEY WERE ALL DEAD img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif" border="0"> The damn disease ridden fish from there killed all my fish img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> They were getting huge too, I can't believe they survived winter, the dog "playing" w/ them ect & then 2 little diseased fish kill them off in ONE day!!!!!!!! So I have all of them in a bag & will be taking them BACK to WalMart & asking them what they would like to do about it!!!!

so that was my Sun. pretty much ruined the whole day for me, had to drain my pond now have to scrub it out ARGGGGGG OH sorry I was venting!

I haven't run 20's in years and have enjoyed the extra ground clearance from the 22's. I'm not ready to purchase new tires yet and am thinking of just running the 20's for a time. They don't have the nice aggresive tread design the Holeshots have, but they're better, I believe, than a set of worn down Holeshots. How many of you are running 20's and have you had any issues with clearance?

I been gettin stuck all over the place with 22's lately. But you prolly wouldnt get stuck in tahuya or capitol main trails with em Just lean With it, Rock with it, Lean with it...

I have the stockers from the 700R sitting in the attic, was thinking of selling them with the rims, (they only have one ride in the cul-de-sac) but since my XCT's are getting worn to the point of replacement, thinking of just using the stockers for the summer.

I really don't care. I need a pull through, with room for second vehicle. If this is not available, I will just find another spot to park in, like Dirty's spot from last time or another one.

We will not be there until Friday night or Saturday morning now.

Tire question:

The stock tires on the Z250 are 20x10x9, the Holeshots I want are 20x11x9. The number "10" or "11" is width of tire correct, and if so, will the wider tire fit on the wheel?

it will fit,,,but it may round the tread surface,,,,,which actually might benefit a z250,,,,,,which might otherwise have trouble steering with an aggressive flat tire

Nerve wracking huh? I close on my new house this friday or next monday. Got a buyer for current house daisy chained to close as soon as i close the new one. and they are selling one in Port Angeles. What a circle jerk. Good luck on your bid, nothing better than a new house.

Hi Brian, Val here...

If you need it definitly have if done. My thumb and first two fingers were totally numb all the time as soon as I would start using them and all you are doing is causing more damage to the nerve.

Recovery is going pretty well, it really let's you know when you try to do something that is a no-no yet. I am keeping the splint on it for as long as I can because just the thought of forgetting and grabbing something makes me woosy. It is about 8 stitches and they come out in a week, the cut tendon (big ouch) then back to work in 2-3 weeks due to the keyboarding I do same as you.

You need to go in for the eletrode test to find out the damage before you let it get too far gone

Hi Brian, Val here...

If you need it definitly have if done. My thumb and first two fingers were totally numb all the time as soon as I would start using them and all you are doing is causing more damage to the nerve.

If i put an Icecube on the lump in my wrist my thumb gets all sorts of twitchy its really wierd.
When i type its 1 finger left hand and 2 + thumb on right hand. right hand covers close to 60% of keyboard. When i first got this crap it started from me gripping the mouse too tight with my right hand. So i retrained and now do all the mousing left. and after that the swelling went away. then i hurted my thumb hittin sompin on my atv last fall i think it was and it hasnt been the same since. then I started riding agin this spring and it is Killin me to push the throttle.

One day i should go to a dr.. I have a picket knife and a soucher so i could just Jam a slot thru the tendon and sew it back up huh?

Oh yeah, that will help alot. It just moves the swelling and pain into the wrist. I know the hard way from experience.

What a fun morning I had. Nate was driving Katie back to school in Portland last night when I got the late night call. "The truck just died" Oh, great.
So, at 4am this morning Cindy and I went and got the trailer, drove to Kalama (South of Kelso) Picked up Nates truck and just got back. Don't know what happened but he blew all the fluids out of it. Oil and coolant! Ouch!
To make matters worse he had it sold to a friend and Nate is leaving tomorrow AM.
Dropped it off at the shop for a diagnosis, I hope it's not completely shot.

This weekend is the time. Arrival times from Friday am to Saturday am. You can come anytime. Maps are NOT needed at this riding location. Here is the link to the location Silver Ridge Ranch

We will be having a potluck on Saturday, so chime in and let us know how and when will be coming.

So won't there still be a bit of snow up there? Or no?

Think there'll be any problems for sport quads?

I'll talk to the better half!

Get the surgery done. Don't wait like I did and end up with semi-useless hands. I'm so bad that I even had it in the elbows (the crazy bone nerve) and all I got was pain relief and loss of feeling, strength and dexterity in both hands. If you have a really good surgeon and only have your wrists done, 2 to 3 weeks and you should be good to go at your age. The elbow thing is a whole other world and recovery is in months not weeks.

Brian, CONGRATS on the house. After the initial shock that you now own a home and it's YOURS(Well the banks anyway) you will come to the conclusion that it is one of the BEST things you could have ever done for you and your future. I was just sitting on the back deck looking out over my yard and got this really happy feeling that I own this place I love to be. It's nice to pay that mortgage as an investment in your pocket and not a landlord's elsewhere. BR>
If you are going to Florence-And YES you should go- I have an extra spot right where everyone is camping for Friday and Saturday night. You are welcome to it for those 2 nights before I drop the reservation. Then it shouldn't be an issue to reserve that site for Thursday if you want to come down with the rest of us on Thursday. Let me know!

I don't ever remember all the sites being taken, there's always room up there. We do have a blast up there, it's a great place to ride.

Good evening PSAR. What a bute of a day it has been.

Didn't make it to the map store today. SWMBO and I spent the day shopping for a new dishwasher. There are a LOT of places that sell dishwashers in the Seattle area. Second stop we made was Sears. Anyone want to guess where we ended up buying one?

Gonna try to get to the map store tomorrow - - - - right after I put in the new dishwasher. BR>
Anyone have much experiance with GPS units? Thinking about getting one or taking the one off the boat and making a second mount to put it on the quad. Any thoughts on what to buy or if the Garmin from the boat would even work on a land vehicle?

Ok, let me ask you another question.

If we can get a spot, I'm fairly certain that we will show up. But I'm wondering which quads to bring. The Suzuki Z400's (which are more suited for good ol trail riding and they have skids) or our new Suzuki R450's (that don't have the low end like the 400's and don't have skids and are WIDE).

I didn't want to be the one to bring it up!

Actually I missed a day of work today because of Nate's truck breaking down in Kalama and will not be at work tomorrow since we are taking Nate to the airport.
So it will require me to work this weekend to catch up.

You'll have one water crossing, probably 2 feet deep or so, (could be deeper with the snow melt) that you'll have to cross in order to get to the majority of riding area. It'll be 80% dirt and hard pack gravel roads with the rest being fairly wide trails.

Bill's Hill is pretty tight with switchbacks, (many have ventured down, few have ventured up), then there's Full Throttle Hill, it's wide with loose dirt, you'll never see the top of it. I would say skids are not necessary up there, but, that doesn't mean you won't find a rock and scrape your bottom.

If you happen to reserve a site, PSAR's in sites 36-45 or somewhere along those lines, you might want to try in get 34 or 35, unless Bing still has an open site that he reserved. I think we're gonna have more sites than overnighters. You need to shoot Bing a PM and find out if there's still one available.

just show up,,,,i know we are the only group there,,,,and possibly the only campers at all

the only reason we are really booking as a group is to iliminate what happened last year when a horse party reserved a spot right in the middle of us

we have our core sites reserved,,,and from the sound of it,,,we will be the only ones there

Got your PM back, thanks for taking care of all of the reservations, just let me know how much the sites cost.

Now to decide which quads to bring.

the sites are $20 a night payable to the ranch (we usually just pay Bud when he delivers the firewood)

water, power, dump station near the bathrooms, showers,,,,,,they have a good deal on firewood too

they also have an additional vehicle charge of $5

found that out last year BR>
Day riders/parkers are $5 too

I have a pair of the Garmin RINO 120s, both GPS and radio in one unit and they tell each other where the other unit is when you use the radio. The new 520 models have a 14 mile radio range, mine only have 5 miles. You can down load maps into them and everything fancy like that.

I am bringing both of mine. The z400 does great up there, but really the R450 will be just fine. There might be one or 2 short spots near the creek that slowing down across the rocks would be a good idea to avoid bashing rocks, but the creek itself won't be a problem. The trails are plenty wide enough to accomodate the R450 with few exceptions. JMHO.
Should be a good weekend. BR>

Thanks for organizing the campsites Bing! It's probably a lot like herding cats. No crying here. As long as I don't have to try to ride my quad to work because I have to leave early(Although, if I could get away with it...), I am good anywhere I end up. A+ for effort.

OFC, I had one of those also. It was on my leftt hand on the upper part of my wrist. When i bent my wrist this big cyst would stick out. Very gross looking. I went and saw a doctor and he took one look at it and said it was a ganglion. Anyways he told me i had 3 options. 1) leave it alone and it might go away 2) shoot the cyst with a shot of steriod to hopefully kill it 3) have surgery (but the cyst might come back). Needless to say i left it alone and it finally went away. If you want, i still have the card that he gave me with the hand specialist name and number, that i can give you, if you want to get it removed.

I think bowling and my thumb throttle are whats been aggrivating it lately. I'm just gonna bowl left handed now that this season is over and get better at it. I finished out the season with a 187 average. That means kill my right hand time to bring up my left handed average from 120 to 200 guess i'll have to practice.

Of course he is smart! And Dot is the newest addition to the Ferris household...little tiny Chihuahua, with a black spot around her eye. Very cute. Maggie seems to like her.

Sean, I have a 1 ton with the V10. More power than I could ask for. I don't care too much for diesels that's why I went with the gas. Also, with the diesels having to meet federal emission standards they are no longer a 500,000 mile motor. That is the reason they have more horse power from a smaller CID. They have about the same mileage life span as a gas engine. This was told to me by a friend who is a diesel mechanic.
I know a lot of people are brand loyal on here, including me, but he told me he'd never own a Duramax.

Sean, are you going to get a toy hauler and sell your enclosed? I'll trade ya for my 20' car hauler!

Posted by: RaptorRandy27

Quad 4 Fun, I love my older Ford F-250 Super Duty with the 7.3 power stroke diesel but I'm not to fond of Fords new 6L diesel. If I was going out to buy a new truck today it would be the Duramax Chevy. My boss has one that I have hauled a 30 Ft goosneck trailer loaded to the gills with racecars, spares and a Mule that was a mobile pit cart
and it pulled like a champ for many many trouble free miles, I won't say here how much we weighedBest driving and pulling truck I've yet to drive. A Chev Duramax Diesel 3500 will be my next truck.

I pass the V-10's going up the big hills with my PSD pulling my 38 FT 5ver when there just pulling little dinky travel trailers and get 14 to 15 MPG while I'm doing it img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

How many gallons per mile do you get with that V-10 loaded 6- 8 img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif" border="0">

And you pay more for diesel fuel than I do for regular gasoline!
Throw in that a new diesel is 5K more to begin with and I think it more than evens out!
With my V10 loaded headed down the hiway to Florence I get 8 - 10 MPG

8-10 at 2.89 a gal vs 14-15 at 2.98 I'll take 14 to 15 MPG loaded and as good as 22 MPG unloaded
Why buy new?? I buy used wholesale from Rallye Auto, I paid 12,900 for my PSD, it sold for over 30 grand new. There's no way I would ever pay that for a rig when I can get a good used one for half or less and it will go for 300,000 plus miles

Someone has to buy them gas pots thoughBR>

I'm just funning with you Rod, there's pro's and cons to both. I used to say I would never own a Diesel but once I started hauling the Race car trailers and the big 5th wheel with a Diesel I'd never go back. Gotta love that torqueBR>
But the cost of gas or diesel now a days just plain sucks

Love to but we have just the one quad here in Seattle, wife wants to spend time with son, relitives in Marysville to visit, business to attend to and the list goes on. Maybe next time he is in the area we will be ready for a family ride.

The Cummins is where its at, but then you have to drive a Dodge. I guess you just can't win.

I have seen and read that you can add Propane and nitrous and computer upgrades to a diesel that will smoke almost anything on the road. Problem is you have to find a way to make it stick to the road.
I have seen one Cummings 800HP and 1100-1200 ft lbs with the above upgrades. and still be able to pull almost anything you put behind it. You then just have to pay for the feul and the bottles you run through.
Trex which brothel does your sister work at?

Ford owns 25% of Cummins, Diamler Crysler owns the other 75%.

The guys that own the build up shops are nuts. They do 1/4 mile drags in one tons, with 37" mud tires. It is impressive seeing 37's damm near leave the ground when on a 8,000 lb pickup.

Since when. Last I heard Dodge was gonna drop the Cummins engine as soon as they could find a replacement. Pretty much like when Chrysler bought Sunbeam and the Ford engine Tiger got a Chrysler motor, which was to heavy and didn't fit, but Gof forbid the be a Ford engine in a Chrysler product.

You don't have 52 pounds of boost with 2 turbos, running 550. I have 550 with a single.
