If the adjuster is not backed off all the way, that would be an impropper install. I know it has to gears, but when the adjuster is removed it goes all the way out. It will go back in, but stess the chain.
I do not have an aftermarket or new chain. It is OEM.

Are the honda tensioners like the ones on the warrior? the warrior is a spring loaded plunger type dealy that pushed against a plastic chain slide. on when you put it in you have to unload the spring by removing the bolt in the middle then push the tensioner rod back in the hole then intale and push the spring back in the hole and tighten boltand it auto adjusts from there

Well, we made it back from the "Dry Side" of the state a few hours ago. Gone for a couple of days and it takes awhile to catch up with all the posts.
Really a wet winter and spring at the home place. Talked to Scott Droubravski, owner of Eddieville and Starvation Ridge tracks, and he was telling me the race last weekend was way to wet. Lots of people getting stuck but he had good feedback from the participants. Anyone go over there for that?
Had a great time, grandkids, kids, friends over for supper and that kind of thing. Got to do a little shooting but no quads other than our 3 year old grandson riding his little electric one.
Looking forward to the ride on Saturday. Anyone ever bring a dog along on these? The Corgi rides with me when I'm working fenclines and such but that is low speed and easy going.

If you have metal anywhere near or in the knee, then then MRI is a no go. I know because my left knee has 4 screws and 2 pins and they shoot that one full of dye and x-ray it to see what is going on in it.

Hey TP,
my last knee injury was a torn miniscus. Part of it tore and folded back on itself. They had to just cut part of it out.
Surgery was pretty easy, and recovery was prett quick.
Hopefully they can get in there and see what's wrong and fix it up.
If they can't get pictures, they may do and arthroscopy and go in and have a look see.
Anyway, keep us updated, and good luck...........

TP, I've had the worse and the best of knee surgeries. I plateau fractured ny left knee in 1984 and the used a piece of my pelvis to replace the broke off piece. 4 stainless screws about 2" long and 2 pins held everything together. It was later decided to leave the metal in. A week and a half in the hospital and 9 months getting back to walking fairly normal (the P.T. was worse than anything to start with, because the knee had to be immoble for 8 weeks while the graft took). In 1994 there was a bunch of trash in the sam knee causing all kinds of trouble. They ortho'd the knee, removing the trash. A week on crutches and 2 weeks with a cane and no P.T. at all. I suspect you will have the latter at the most.

Darrington is a mix of loggin roads and spurtrails.. pretty friendly terrain. its state land or is that national forrest? I think its actually national forrest.. open year round and its pretty easy to get to. 530 thru Atown to Dtown hang a left at the stop take the right on sauk prarie follow a long ways to a T stop. take left and follow the camp signs to darringer.

That is one of the six things I can actually teach him. I can't wait for him to take to the track with other kids with the same experience. I think he'll hold his own. He has a ballzy no quit attitude. Makes me really proud.

I'm pretty sure that Mr. Toys has ridden the Desert 100 several times. I'm not sure, but Jacob may have done it too.
I got my start on 2 wheelers as did Blunderboy. He started on a ttr-90. In fact, that's what he was riding part of the time during that trip in August 2003 that started things really rolling around here.
My favorite bike was my XR-200. I wouldn't mind another one - just my size and well-mannered (at least since I rode only 60s and 70s bikes) Originally, I was going to get back into dirtbikes, but after riding the Taco, the bod said, no, quads is more her speed.
My dad raced enduros when I was growing up.
So, tell DJ to be careful and have fun. Dad always said he was a winner if he finished the race without carnage. BR>

Exit 104, Highway 101 towards Port Angeles / Aberdeen
The highway splits about 5 miles, stay left towards Aberbeen, this is Highway 8

When me and Big D had my clutch cover off my raptor replacing the gasket it looked brand new. Thats why i asked what kinda oil. maybe the oil is makin it slip. Ive had that happen in another bike.. HOLY CRAP TP thats stock clutch Your a clutch abusin mofo if there ever was one too.

How often should the trans oil be changed in the 450rrrrr...I have been changing it every other engine oil change...
as far as clutch I am still on the original clutch with a motorcross season and a half on it ..
It's not impossable for your clutch to be slipping..just unlikly that it failed ....I had a honda 300 that I put synthetic oil in ..and the clutch started slipping right away...get more opinions ...

Synthetic is bad for the clutch, and so is car oil. (penzoil, etc.)
not 100 true.
Synthetics with moly are bad for the clutch, I ran Motul 300v and Dumonde Tech in the fofiddy, those do not have moly.
Mobil 1 red cap is the only "auto synthetic" approved by Kawasaki for wet clutch use

this is on the 350? pretty easy to tell if its slippin go up a long hill and pin a gear to high and pin the throttle. If it hits the rev limiter then you got a bad clutch

Make sure you have a little free play in the lever, then ride it. If you can accelerate (pull the front end), you are still good.

Nope its on the Pirate bike. It does have a wet clutch though. If synthetic is bad I will chnge on the next oil chnage. That and I can pull the front end 1-3rd.

I made it till King kong gets the girl and then about 15 minutes past that. It was the longest friggin movie. ATTENTION HOLLYWIERD.. movies need to be more attention getting througout. Spectro blend is fine. sompin in the adjustment, has to be.

It's not impossable for your clutch to be slipping..just unlikly that it failed ....I had a honda 300 that I put synthetic oil in ..and the clutch started slipping right away...get more opinions ...
what synthetic oil did you use?
the 450 has had nothing but honda oil and filters in it...
same with the 250ex...
on the 300 i used valvoline (my first quad)

When you came up on two wheels on the right side,You put your right leg out and it looks like it twisted inside. It looks like it would be a knee issue or tenden issue from knee up through the thigh. b/c you landed pretty hard on your leg when you jumped off the quad.
