Spent an awesome day with my dad, stepmom, Josh, and all the kids up in Seattle. We did the underground seattle tour (fun - the tour guide was a crack up!) Then we took the bus up to Pike Place Market and had a light lunch and checked things out. The flowers smelled so good! and the kids got a kick out the guys throwing fish, crab, and other seafood. The buses are free in that part of the city, so we parked by Qwest field and walked or rode the bus. All 8 of us had a great time - then we headed back south and the horde invaded outback for dead animals. Yum!

Ray, we saw what looked like a track (they had banners and rope flags) on the west side of I-5 from your office. It looked like they had some jumps. Is it a new track?BR>
Oh, and would you mind passing the boots to Bill tomorrow please???

Posted by: nwcutie

It looks like we'll make the moses ride with our gaggle

and woohoo! This is my 500th post. I'm tearing it up

I got to hang out in his new quad crib today, very nice and roomy and it matches the two tone paint on Hollywoods truck to a tee

I actually saw a large group riding on that track. It's a private course for members only, there's a sign to that effect.

It is "Cuba Club" or something like that. Have not had a chance to check into it, but i will and will let everyone know.

Marci, I did not pack the boots for tomorrow, but I can give them to you at Moses or to him at Rock Candy.

We talked to Nate on the phone yesterday!First time we've talked on the phone with him in a couple of months.
He can fly out of Al Asad on April 6th (our 5th)
Hopefully he will be here by the 7th, 8th at the latest.
He has 15 days of leave!
It will be so great to see him!
I'm sure we'll have a trail ride while he's home, he also wants to go salmon fishing so we're going to head to the lower Columbia for a weekend.
Did I say how great it will be to see him?!BR>Bobby, our other son, is also flying in from Hollywood to see Nate and to surprise Cindy. It's her birthday on April 3rd so to have both her boys here right around her birthday is the best present ever!

As far as everyone else i don't think any body else owns a 05 or 06 Z400. I can't post the link because the blocked the word but i can copy a sentence, that might get you thinking."The 05-06 z400 have been having problems with the coolant eating the magnesium case and dumping coolant into the engine oil. "You might just want to check yours, If you want more info go over to the z400 site. and go to tuning.
i have not heard of this problem. we have not gone through any coolant and keep the oil changed real regular. thanks i will check it out.
I just read in the zuki forum that they are planning to do a recall on all 05 and 06's. This is what i read....well to any of you who did email the officer, I appreciate it. They got a hold of Suzuki and they are enforcing a recall. It should be posted and all original owners should be contacted through mail so you can get your quad into the dealer you bought it from and get fixed. I've already contacted my dealer and htey said that yes it is being fixed for free and with an aluminum cover instead of magnesium. Hope you all are helped by this. Jayna, I also read on the Z400 site that the 450's are having the same problem. Just might want to check it and get a new aluminum cover to be on the safe side.

I know this is a bit of a late reply, but I had read of that trouble on the forums, too. Not about the 450's, just the z400's. Funny thing, I was talking to the Cycle Barn Service department the day I picked up my 450(a couple days before this post) and he said they have never seen it and wasn't aware that Suzuki had any intention of doing a recall. He attributed the corrosion, if it was happening, to people using tap water in the coolant system rather than deionized water.

I think I am going to buy a 6 month warranty extension to have it covered for the first year. That should give me enough time for all the bugs to be found for this first production run. I don't know if it's just hype or not. My '03 Z has taken a beating and not really had any of the problems I read about online. Of course, I do maintenance and don't do 50'-100' jumps either. I honestly don't think there are enough people that have had the R450 for long enough to really determine what trouble might pop up. Thanks for the heads up though!

Well, Verity and I are back home. We got about an hour out and got a call telling us that Peyton was throwing up out of both ends, so we turned around and came home to take care of our baby.

Verity is shampooing the carpet as I write this.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun ride today. We are sorry that we will not be making it.

Good Sunday morning PSAR BR>
What a day, and on into the night...........

First things first, Kym and Ronny. I hope Trevor is feeling okay this morning. Those boys have been pounding on each other for well over a year now. Niether one of them was about to let up, they are both great little guys, and racers. We talked about it last night on the ride home. Those kids have had each other on 2 wheels, almost into the wall, and other racers. Lets just hope they are done playing nerf bar tag for a while. BR>
Mini is still asleep on the couch at this time. I'll give an update when he wakes up.

The Mom's race was entertaining. Equipment that you can't hurt, (thanks TP) Two first time racers, two "seasoned veterans", one new mommy, one "newcomer to the group" (at the track), and just a great bunch of gurls out to have fun. Taternutz plan to outjump Dirty almost worked, it was the landing that threw her askew. She wouldn't shut up, yes she had alot of fun. LdyJay, you are next, you can run, but you can't hide.

The 61-90cc class was nearly a nailbiter. 2 heat races, 8 kids, one main. I gave every child that raced that class a thumbs up as they rolled off the track. All of them rode good, only one crash from a first timer on the clay. All the hard hitters Austin and Austin, Mikey and two other Built LT 80's on the front row, Brandon was inside of the second row. At the start the newbie and Brandon came together, she had no nerf bars and her back tire climbed Brandons rear and she flopped over. (an omen for the next race ) Brandon never let up and was picking people off lap after lap. He passed all but 2 in his main, (I'm gonna say the suspension and tires helped a ton ) he ended up with some third place hardware for his second race on the KGB.

I love having people inquire about my kids mini's. I'm more than willing to help anyone out. I might even be supplying a hardtail to some of our "younger outside members" for them to ride in the next few years.

Well, I'm gonna wake up "king crash" and see how he is feeling I'll check back soon

cough, cough, thanks TP, RG, DM, now I've gotta buy/ build Brenda a racer

Posted by: TractorPacker

The yellow quad is ready for a re-stable.

Posted by: maggiesboy

This is Brenda....... Thank you soooo much TP for the bike. I had the most fun I have had in a while. That is very addicting. You guys are the best. Brandon is a little sore and his side is swollen ( he has one love handle this mornin) other than that he is good. I hope that Trev is okay. Even as the tears are rolling down his face in pain he still remembered his manners at every question I asked him. What a great kid.

Soooo on the yellow quad how much is the moving fee? See here I go.

hey guys for the ladies races last night, what are the ladies riding? My wife might like to get into that.

Posted by: TractorPacker

Jolene was on her 300, Kate was on her Z400, Brenda was on my 450, and Dirtmomma was on DJ's 450.

Posted by: WildTurkey!

Tell me if I am right on this. I would need a kill switch, flat track tires, intake, exahust, rejet, extended a-arms upfront to lower the front end. Is this what I would have to do to get my wife headed to the track.

Posted by: TractorPacker

The A-arms are not for lowering the quad. They are for more stability. You can lower it down, with "lowering" kits for way less $$. All you need to hit the track, for a try-out would be nerf bars and a kill cord. The stuff is helpful, but I would start with the basics to make sure it is enjoyable, before extra money is spent.

Got a few questions.

1. Other than scrolling through 1000's of posts, is there any way to find particular posts either by a key word in the body or by post number?

Im trying to find where we were discussing the Coos Bay trip. I spent a while scrolling back and couldnt find anything.

2. Are we keep track of who's going to various outings using a calander anywhere? Yahoo? MSN?

Im trying to find out who all is going to Coos Bay and the dates.

Cuz I dont recall if I reserved a spot or not. Im thinking I did. Spot 45 or something like that, BUT my wonderful record keeping has let me down and I gotta call them tomorrow and see if they show anything for me having a spot.

Trying to get the camping calander all booked up for the year ahead of time.

Only a few more weeks until reservations will become available for Dunefest!!!

Posted by: HappaRap

I created a couple of tables in the database portion of Yahoo PSAR for those that want to add their info for the trips some of us have planned in June and August, including where, when and site number.

No problem, you guys traveled many miles yesterday. Did you have any problem getting back home from my house?
The inside of the trailer is 48.5, maybe I could build a platform on top of the side rails and just run her up there, then use underneath for storage, wood, fuel, tools, ect.

No problems finding our way at all, your directions were good I'll lay a tape on the front end when I get home from work.

I had a blast riding, yesterday. But damn am i sore today. Do you see why i didn't take Jayna's offer on riding her quad. If i did i would want one. I'll just look , not touch, that's what my mom always told me. Like i told Jayna, we need to get together once a month, or so and do alittle ride. Even if it's to Darrington, it's not that far.

It was nice finally meeting you, OFC. On the way out on the dirt road i couldn't stop laughing. Your driving, with muddog hanging out the window, and every little puddle you saw you were in it. Thanks for the laughs.

2manytoys it was good to see you again. Should of brought you quad, we had alot of fun.

Sorry i didn't make it to the bbq. On the way home, i had a headache so bad, i had to roll up the windows, turn the radio off, and concentrate on my driving because it was a headache behind my eyes. Sounds like you guys had a great time.

Thanks for inviting me to go riding Ron and kym!!

Morning PSAR! What an awesome day for a ride yesterday! Couldn't have asked for better weather in March. Big HUGE thanks to Ron and Kym for l leading us around. It was really good to ride with everyone. WQ, glad you could join us. I think we should get a monthly ride going, too. RR, glad you made the drive up. Good to see you at bfast 2mny. Thanks to the Bing and OFC locksmith agency for retrieving my keys from the truck. You guys are awesome. Guess it's time to start carrying spares again. I am usually better prepared. It was good to see everyone else at the BBQ, too. Another big thanks to DM for the grub and hospitality. You rock! And you're right, DJ is an awesome kid.

Oh yeah, I LOVE my LT-R450. All stock and shiny right off the showroom floor, it was quite a ride.that erased any reservations I had about my impulse buy. So very glad I got it. It sits really low and wide, so it railed right around the corners and has all kinds of torque. Acceleration is smooth as butter. The stock suspension is set up a little stiff, but even at WOT in 5th gear it handled some significant potholes and bumps like they weren't even there. No bump steer at all. Stable as a rock. Can't wait for my skids to arrive. The ground clearance was only a problem in the snow and I had to watch for big rocks to avoid, but bigger tires will go a long way to correcting that issue.
That quad is AWESOME!!! I don't think the permagrin left my face until several hours after we got back. Another tank of fuel and I will install the Cherry Bomb, pull the pea shooter and the airbox lid to add 7.5hp. Can't wait to get that puppy down on the sand! img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I need a nap!!! Have a great day PSAR.

I atleast unloaded my quad off the trailer and tied it up with the others. Gonna wash it tonight and get it all cleaned up. Can't see out of my back window on my Tahoe. Was doing about 30 to avoid those big holes!! Left, right, no left, hurry go right. That's all i remember telling myself on the dirt road. I think my trailer does better going faster over those potholes than really, really slow. LOL

Justin will probably never go riding with me in the "woods". He only rides his quad at the dunes or around are property. He is very picky, with his baby!!!

Ya, it was nice to see everyone again. Forgot how fun all of you are.

I don't know what's goig on with my face though. I think i had to many pellets(rocks) thrown at me. I'm not sure if i have wind, helmet, sun or rock burn on my face. It looks like i got sun burned.

I wish Jayna would of turned around on her quad, when i was about 3 ft behind her and she didn't even know it, (i don't think). Man she was throwing those rocks at me like popcorn. I was dreading those corners cuz it would get worse. I was in 5th gear and she said she was in 4th. I was seeing what all she and that quad had.

BTW, where is OFC, did you have to wake him up from the outside fire today DM and send him off to work.

anytime DM

Plush? You must be talking about the structural tie-wire throttle, electrical tape clutch, bent steering stem, dirty grease buildup, out of balance rim and obnoxious pipe. At speed the front left tire is bouncing like a basketball.

A-arms and shocks would be 50" atleast, too wide I believe. I want to do alot of things but the money tree looks more like Charlie Brown's christmas tree hr>

Happy mine measures out at 52 in the front. and last time down in teh wet sand being that much wider than the average quad SUCKED on the trails. your always hooking outside the ruts and gettin thrown around. Its like driving a my lil truck on the freeway bouncing in and out of the ruts from the big trucks. kinda gives ya an outta control feeling.. My next trip I will be testing out the razr2's in the sand you wanna try and keep it under 48" if your gonna be in the trails and stuff. if your just riding the open dunes its nice bein wide for sliding the faces and such.

Is that measurement with stock arms and the Elka's?, you must have aftermarket arms and if so, how wide are they? I'll always be playing in the tree shots so guess I had better keep it under 48". Hummmm, maybe 1" offset rims and an axle, that would make it 48" square and throw in a steering dampner. I don't think 1" offsets would increase bump steer to much.

Ha Ha, I could hear you behind me, but I was concentrating on not becoming a hood ornament after that first truck we almost piled into on that little jaunt. If I had known it was a test, I would have tried harder. I still had some more throttle, but we were cruising right along at a good clip. It was a great break in ride.

I have 4+1 wheels with the sag of my elkas it gets wide. too wide. It was not that easy to cruise the trails in follow the leader. so im tonna go with my 1+4 trail wheels next trip and feel the difference.

I dunno.. *shakin head* Aint thats what ATVs are ment to do? Get dirty and pound off the rocks? Unless you live next to the dunes or got tons of traveling time, You gotta be able to trail your quad. or you like to spend excessive amounts of cash at a track. Its just not right to have a quad in your garage that dont get down n dirty now n agin...

Kammenga Canyon,,,that is our favorite spot,,,,,be sure to come in from the Elfendahl Road side. It has pit toilets and water.
Ryckman wants to ride tahuya,,,,maybe we will make a trip down.

There is also a huge billboard trailmap right on the Tahuya River Trail behind that campground.

A diet or a girdle maybe? Then again it might not be so wide if nobody is on it.

I think the stocks are 2/3 they are offset more to the inside than out. my trail wheels are offest waay in. the spindle nut is almost even with the rock ring. My sand wheels STICK waaaay out if you havent noticed In rutted sand as it is in late fall and winter and early spring this is not good. In summer its kick ass

Well, I know you were observing the 25mph speed limit, too bad that motorhome was doing 50mph putting you in harms way. If they would observe the posted speed limits like us quad riders do, there wouldn't never be near misses

My wife loves the 700 but never has liked trails. She now wants to hit the dunes to stay out in the open so the 700 wont beat her up.

I think she doesnt want to shift a Z-400 with rekluse clutch kit.

She is scared of shifting! lol

I had to pass this along....

Woman Gets Beer From Her Kitchen Faucet

OSLO, Norway - It almost seemed like a miracle to Haldis Gundersen when she turned on her kitchen faucet this weekend and found the water had turned into beer.

Two flights down, employees and customers at the Big Tower Bar were horrified when water poured out of the beer taps.

By an improbable feat of clumsy plumbing, someone at the bar in Kristiandsund, western Norway, had accidentally hooked the beer hoses to the water pipes for Gundersen's apartment.

"We had settled down for a cozy Saturday evening, had a nice dinner, and I was just going to clean up a little," Gundersen, 50, told The Associated Press by telephone Monday. "I turned on the kitchen faucet and beer came out."

However, Gundersen said the beer was flat and not tempting, even in a country where a half-liter (pint) can cost about 25 kroner ($3.75) in grocery stores.

Per Egil Myrvang, of the local beer distributor, said he helped bartenders reconnect the pipes by telephone.

"The water and beer pipes do touch each other, but you have to be really creative to connect them together," he told local newspapers.

Gundersen joked about having the pub send up free beer for her next party.

"But maybe it would be easier if they just invited me down for a beer," she said.

Well the welder is taking off for a car show in Fresno......that bums me out. He did tell me next wednesday he will do it for sure, I hope so.

I'm ready to swap everything to the other chassis and let one of the boys run the good motor in the clapper. Uncut plastic and unfinished nerfs with the bullet in it, that will be some funny chit forsomeone to see for the first time. Then let them scratch thier heads in amazement. "What the hell was that?" Damn that would be fun The old school plastic, torn seat, I'm gonna have to do it!

i've been busy working on other projects, distracted.... non-ATV related.... but definitely go-fast related. doing engine swappin on a car with my brother, after his is done, i'll start my own: putting a LS1 V8 in a 86 mazda RX7. when i'm done it should go high 10's in the 1/4. but.... it'll be a while until it's done. hoping to be done before summer....

in the mean time i have quad trailer full of car parts(you don't know how much it frustrates me)... anyone know anybody in need of late model camaro/firebird parts?

Cheech, what time do practice runs start? Or is it just show up and run? I assume you are talking about RMC? Just curious...

If so, let me know what you want for it.
