People drive 1K miles up from Fla., to ride H/M.
If you can find the time, I would say "GO FOR IT"! The place is AWESOME. There are plenty of cheap motels to stay in. There are also "trailhouses", for larger groups, that rent reasonably cheap. There are 1000's of miles of trails in the general area, but you will need a guide to run those. H/M does have about 400miles, that would keep you busy for 3-4 days I would think.
Feel free to email, for more info. I'd be glad to tell you more, answer ??? you might have.

Is there nothing in the Ozark National Forest over by Ft Smith? Looks as if this is the only terrain for miles.

Drove 750 miles each way for 4 day trip to HM back in May . The people are very friendly .
The place was great and I only rode one trail system. Well worth the ride .Now my wife is spoiled. She says this is not like HM whereever we ride now . Cant wait to go back this fall. just wish it was closer but well worth the ride

If you can find a fellow called dodgepower, he may be able to help you find a place in MO.....he's from the Jefferson City area...you can try to PM him....I know he's close to transferring from one place to another due to his job so it may be a while for a response....

We would sure like to go there but its about 1100 miles from here in Okieville,Oklahoma. I know its not that far to some, but its out of reach for a trip this fall for us, maybe next year. What we are wondering is if there is anywhere closer with similar riding and accomodations. 400 Miles or less would be nice, say from Oklahoma City. We are awaiting your suggestions. We were thinking maybe Missouri. Anyone?
