Been to Buckleberry's many times, havent found any other place like it...

I have been to uhwari(sp?) once and liked it... not much mud but a good ride if tou like hills, rocks, ect...

I have heard of a place that is opening up near Kinston, but have not confirmed it yet. Most of the really good riding areas that I have heard about are places that you have to know someone to ride... BR>
I am going to plan a trip to Brown mountain some time, but that is at least 4 hours from where I live...

I agree that Buckelberry's is not for everyone, their big draw is mud riders. They do have some regular non-mud trails, but they are limited. If you are looking for mud, the Buck is a good place to start. Heck, I would try it either way, at least it is a new place to ride even if you don't ever go back, at least you can say that you have been there, done that...

just my $.02

I thought that was you, we were trying to think how to get ahold of you wondering if you knew of some other places in the Wilson area, or if we could hook up and head someplace else...

Ma and the Guys from Tarboro will be in touch...

would like to ride this weekend, but we are not going to the buck... Probably won't get out, cause of the cold...

BTW, THe guy with the Big Bear Finally got his locker in...
Still can't mess with 14" of ground clearance...

Have F250 Diesel and Trailer, Just need a place to go... next weekend(Feb 1) I can get out and tear up something...

If we can get the Bear running right...

I will be listening for some word...

we hope he has it under control. He has some parts on order to fix it. I think he may have broke the carb heater. Don't know if it really matters, as I don't have one...He also has the choke plunger nut broken.(got that on order), and some more brake problems... He keeps blowing out the rear hub seal for some reason. Then the drum fills up with mud, then burns up the pads in just 1 or 2 rides. I don't care what those Honda riders say, Disc Brakes rule!!! Easy to maintain, and dont mind if you get mud on them...BR>

NC660Mudder, Like the pics of the Buck that you posted, on your atvconnection gallery. Especially the one witht the cat and a grizz BR>
guess it was a good thing you didn't get a pic of the day I broke an axle!!!

Anyway, thanks for the pic, I have been looking for a decent pic of the cat in action, but it is kinda hard for me to take one while riding...

Hello NC riders. I've never been to Bucklberry's but my friends went there and said it wasn't that great. I live near the Triangle so we mostly ride trails and fields around our houses. However, we have gone to a place in SC called "Saudi Arabia".You need to get off on exit 190 South, take a right and its about 15 miles down on the right. Its in a real secluded place so it is best if you go with someone who has been there before. Its $5 a day and he does have a camping area, pond , shower, etc. Riding areas include a hellacious, muddy trail around the perimeter that will test all 4X4 atvs. There is also a decent sized Dune in the middle of the land with sand surrounding it. It pretty much has something for everyone. Owned by one guy and his wife--good people. He does not allow any bad manners on his land and keeps a good crowd around. During hunting season he is closed on Saturdays. I would like to find other place though. I have a blaster so I want fast trails, sand, etc.
Have a good one!!

Brown Mt

Although never been to the Brown MT OHV area. Just most of the rest of the Mt.

Basicly the Mortimer/Joe White area.

Very impressed with the riding area,,,,

Be careful,,,you will get ticketed now, unless you are in the OHV park.

I live in Kinston and i have heard of a ATV Park in contruction, suppose to be near the Neuseway Nature Center. But thats been about a month ago and havent heard anymore about it, im starting to think its a rumor! It sure would be nice to have a ATV Park about 8 miles from my house!

Me and some friends usually ride BuckleBerry once a week just to be burning gas LOL I live in Wilson. We have some trails around here as well as the surrounding counties. We have one that goes from Wilson to Knightdale....its alot of fun! The Croatan NTL Forest in New Bern is alot of fun if you really want to get muddy. There are some tough holes in there if you go when its wet. Not to mention venturing into the bear sanctuaries there lol I know of a place in Newport NC that has quite a few trails as well as some nasty mud. I have permission to ride a TON of land up in Louisburg(Franklin County).

Most of us ride every weekend as long as its 35F or better. Some days we take a fast ride and other days are for soaking up some scenery. If yall would like to hit the woods with us sometime, fell free to email me so we can get something set up.

Posted by: NC660Mudder

SWEET! Yeah, one of my buds has his 660 on the shop for a broken axle (again). We are still planning to ride somewhere on Sunday. Callling for upper 40's around here. We will prob take a nice slow trail ride.

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Im game for anywhere. Have Grizz and Jeep......will travel! lol

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Let me know if yall need a hand with the Big Bear....I'd be glad to help.

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Red,
I have a good friend that lives on 39 just a few miles outside of L-burg heading towards Bunn. We ride all around their land and lots of other places heading back towards the airport.

Just got back from a ride today in Havelock NC............i give it a 7 outta 10. If ya want sand, they got it....if ya want mud..head to the peat bogs. There are some deep holes, but most of them would be no problem for a smaller machine. We all had an absolute blast in there today. Racked up about 75 miles.

Posted by: NC660Mudder

I may have seen ya...not sure. I am friends with the Nelms' . I know you know Travis. But, yeah, would love to check out some new places. Drop me an email so we can get some riding times set up.

Here's a link from some fellow riders taken at B-berry.

Buckleberry ------previously posted

Thanks owed to the Tarboro guys for posting these pics

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Sounds good Red. I think we're gonna go back to that place between Havelock and Morehead this weekend. It has tons of sand!

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Take Hwy 70 East to Morehead City. Right before you get into the city limits, you will make a right...i believe that is HWY 24 towards Cape Carteret. Follow that road about 6-7 miles and you will see a BP gas station on your right. Make that right on 9 mile road. Go about 3/4 mile and you will see a subdivision sign on right. Just a tad before sign, you will see a place where all the other atvr's park. Trails are on left side of road. STAY OFF THE POWERLINES ON THE RIGHT SIDE!! $120 ticket if the "man" is having a bad day. 90% of the trails on the left are open.....they post signs on the ones that are closed. No permit required to ride, but a helmet is advised due to random law enforcement traffic.

Another route is take 70E into Havelock. Once in Havelock, you will see a KFC and a Burger King. Make a right turn between them. Follow that road about 3/4 mile and you wil see a RR crossing. Make a left at crossing. (lake road..well, at least some of it.) Appx 8 miles down, you will see that neighborhood entrance sign followed by the place to park on the left. Trails will be on right.

Just a warning though...the main trail that splits the forest it nothing but whoops! although I had a blast on em lol
Its a great place for a race quad but we still had plenty of fun on the 4x4's.

Posted by: NC660Mudder

I am planning to go this weekend. You wont have any problems man...its not that bad. Even most of the bogs arent to rough...i stayed in 2wd most of the time. Let me know for sure if your gonna go on Sat and I'll bring the fellas down there with me

Posted by: NC660Mudder

Just let me know...ill bring the digi cam and you can ride your wheels off....ill take care of the press coverage

Posted by: monster650

we ride mostly every weekend on the powerlines and gas lines along the lakes up here, would like to get together with some of yall and do some riding.

Posted by: SWAMPBEAR

Hey Scootdog,
What kind of name is that for someone that rides a cat.
The Big Bear will be fine by the end of the week. Once I get my rear seal in we will take that cat down to the black hole and see what "14 inches of ground clearance " can do. Don't let the Bear have to push you out, "like it has down there before".
