I'm looking for information on the Red Dirt area in the Kisatchie National Forest between Natchitoches and Alexandria. Has anyone been riding here? What are the campgrounds like? How are the trails? I've been to Camp Claiborne several times and am just looking for a change in scenery. Anyway, I heard they shut down Claiborne recently due to increased erosion. Is this true and is it temporary or permanent? Any information is appreciated.

Thanks for the info. When I ride trails I always ride my Foreman 450s. My drag bike is just too clean to take out on the trails, besides, I could just see my drag pipe getting ripped off by a tree

I have been to the Red Dirt area. It is a pretty good long loop. If I had to guess I would say probably 30 miles or so. I'ts a really nice trail. I wouldnt go if you had to use a clutch. I would bring a 4x4.

i have been riding there a couple times....there is about 50 or so miles of trails...but half of the trails have been closed for the last year due to wash outs...there are lots of steep hills so you probably need a 4x4 to have any fun...have fun ridin...
