just a heads-up for anyone that might be interested... the EWDRA (eastern Wa dirt riders Assn) has a fall scramble at horn rapids ORV, just outside of Richland, Wa, coming up on Nov 3. its a ~22 mile loop, desert style(mostly wide open, hauling butt, with some turns), quad classes are 250, 4-stroke, open, and ironman(2-loops)if they start having more quads show up, they're going to need to change the format of the start... dead engine lemans style start on the sand drag strip all go at once. last spring they had 37 quad entries, only 29 finishers.
i'll be there, racing 250 class, so will my brother.

well i'm close to you all as well, i'm in sammamish/redmond/issaquah. the guy that got me into quads lives in bothel, he & i go riding occasionally at reiter, oregon dunes, and other places.
the closest place to ride for any of you (desracers, m3kgt, 02duramax, big honda)is reiter. just a warning: it is rocky, make sure you have a swingarm skidplate at the minimum. it's out hwy 2, 1 mile after goldbar(milepost 30) go left on reiter road, stay right at the fork, and you'll see the first staging area on the left after about ~1/2-3/4 mile. don't go into the gravel pit you pass on the right, it IS active. there are other (better) staging areas at reiter, but explaining how to get to them is tough...
if you want MX tracks: sky river in monroe, dirty dawg in bonney lake(new), pacific raceways in kent, oakwood arena in roy, and hannegan in bellingham are the closest. there are many others too, i have info & links for most of them.

ORV park for snowmobiles? the only thing i can think of is the snow parks up on the other side of stevens and snoqualmie pass... and they don't really allow ATV & dirtbikes up there, even after the snow's gone(then it's forbidden).
as for ORV parks & riding that has less rocks, there's thurston county ORV which closes down in the winter(oct-feb i believe) to ORV. then there's tahuya state forest over by belfair, it's not near as rocky, but has tight tecnical trails for ATV's. over by moses lake is a dunes area, about 2000 acres of open sand dunes. another smaller dunes area is located outside of beverly, is about 300 acres.
then there's horn rapids ORV, outside of richland, which has open desert riding, and tracks for quads, dirtbikes & 4X4's as well as a kart track and sand drag strip. areas i've never been to: walker valley, evans creek, & many others down in the southern part of the state.

Well, I've got a group of riders (kind of a club) from Oregon and Washington. Most of us ride sport quads, with a few riders on 4x4's. I'm sure a few of them would be interested in some exploring. You should go to the poker run this Sunday at Jones Creek (east of Orchards). Meet some local riders, and I'm sure you'd make a few new riding buddies if you aren't too shy. I'll be there at around 8:00 a.m. to get a good parking spot. Only 2 guys from the group (out of about 25) will be there that I know of, but there should be about 40 or 50 atv riders.

Mid-week is pretty tough, since just about everyone works Monday to Friday. Just keep this post active, and you'll find some people to ride with.

If your ever in the victoria bc canada area give me a call. There is a group of us that go out on weekends and your are welcome to come along. We ride in a mountainus terrain, bush, (lots of rock)
and in winter some snow in the upper levels making it even more fun. Winter riding can be wet though so if you make it up in the winter months bring rain gear. We can always find free accommadations for fellow riders. I just got back from a trip to the oregon dunes (awsome trip)
Not knowing anyone down there though I had to pay dearly for accommadations. I live in sooke about 20min drive from victoria on vancouver island. My recommendation is to come on the port angels ferry if you live south of seattle as it is faster than going through vancouver(bc).

I live in Seattle, WA, but my parents live in Port Angeles, WA. I ride in Port Angeles and surrounding areas almost every weekend. There are soooo many places to go riding on the penninsula.
I think it would be cool to hop on the ferry and shoot over to Victoria and go ride over there, but the question is how to get the bike over there... to bring a truck on the ferry is not cheap! Walking across isnt to expensive, but I cant walk my quad across. It would be cool if they would let me drive my ATV onto the ferry, then have somebody on the other side pick me up. LOL.. somehow I dont think that would go over to well with the ferry people though. I have a few friends that work on the coho boat... maybe they can hook me up. heh

What goes on around here? Well... not a whole lot. I work Mon-Fri durring the day and go to school at night. On the weekends I normally head out of town to go ride my quad. I have family that lives on the peninsula, so thats where I ride. As for the cr scene, its pretty big around here, but mostly imports. Honda, Mitsubishi, Acura, Toyota, etc... you can check out our website at www.sirrommotorsports.com We have some sweet cars on our team. A 500HP Porsche, a Civic with a B20 engine and a high PSI turbo powering it... anyway, check out the website, sign up for the message board if you want. We have about 130 active members on the forums... might be a way to meet people.

A buddy and I will be at Beverly dunes this Sunday, around 9am if anyone is interested. I'll be on a Raptor and my buddy rides a Warrior, driving a green Ranger, black trailer. One day is all you need to see every square inch, but it's still a blast. SAND!!!!! It's why quads were invented. Don't forget your flag.

Checking in from southern OR-ee-gone!
Most of our riding areas are closed at present because of fire restrictions, but when they are open, we have some fantastic trail/mountain riding down here. We ride mostly John's Peak (Timber Mountain). Our local MRA owns quite a bit of land up there with access to BLM and Boise land in some areas. We are forever working with our trails, making new ones, cleaning up old ones, etc. Every year we have two family events for both quads and MCs, the Ghost and Goblins Poker Run (coming up) and the May Poker Run. We also have the Timber Mountain Hare Scrambles for MCs. Our family rides John's Peak just about every weekend that it is open, and have been doing so for years. There are STILL places that we have not been. There is riding for all levels, extreme (you shouldn't oughta be there, but go for it anyway), to intermediate, to beginner. Fun for the whole family.
We also have the Prospect OHV system. We (the MRA) have been working with the DOF and the powers that be to get, and keep, a huge system going up there. Also a lot of fun, and great camping (not to mention fishing) if that's what you're after. I can get you a map of that entire system, we're still in the process of mapping the John's Peak area.
We welcome, and look forward to, anyone joining us up there!
Feel free to contact if you would like more details.
cindyl@internetcds.com
p.s. The woods should be opening up here pretty soon. We got a little rain over the past couple of days. My huband just called the DOF yesterday and they said we need more before they will open the woods. We pester them to death, it seems they're not usually too anxious to broadcast it when they finally DO open the woods, if ya get my drift.

Hello,
Im new to the Forum, but Im also new to Washington. I just moved here from California and I have no riding buddys up here. I live NE washington in the Bothell area. If any is from around here please help me find riding areas. Thanks,,

Thanks everyone,
I went to Reiter Road about 2 weeks ago, and yes its very rockie. I bent my rear disc some how. I dont even know when it happened, not really the kind of ridding I like. I ride a 2002 Raptor and I like open fields with jumps and hills, but im not really into trail riding unless the rocks are not there. Has anyone else been to Reiter Road. That place will take a toll on your bike.
Im 27 years old and I moved to Washington to be with my Girlfriend. I had tons of ridding buddys back in California, but here in Washington I have no friends. I work all week at a local Bodyshop and dont have much time to meet any new friends. This move is kinda tuff on me. I heard about a ORV park some where around here that has good ridding. The guy that told me about it said it was great for snowmobiles. I will look it up soon on the web. Thanks for the help everyone.... Jason
