Is the Marienville atv loop open? I only thought the Timberline loop was open. What time will you be there? Are there taking your 400EX? Is there any problem in only having a 2wd in the snow or do you need a 4wd up there?
Thanks

So let us know, how was the ride & how did the 2wd quads make it through? After talking to my friends about your winter ride one went Sat & bought a trailor & the other is getting his sticker so maybe in a couple weeks we too will be ready to come up also. I'm really looking forward to it, it sounds like a blast.

Yahoo! SNOW!!! lol
Hello!!
I will be going up Saturday night!
ANd the only crazy person with a banshee!!
And a Girlfriend on a red Wolverine.
I will be camping at the Timberline trailhead off rte 948.. Look for the funky white enclosed trailer! Trust me can't miss the design on the side. As far as two wheel drive in the snow! Expect alot of slippin n sliding, and a whole loads of fun! The Marienville loop is open, but, the hill climb is closed you must take the trail to the left on the big hill to get around.

Going up this weekend! Should have a nice turnout for the snow. Let me know if you're coming. We'll be riding all day Sunday...bring firewood to help keep toasty. Parking at the PigsEar trailhead between "the marienville" and "the timberline". See ya there! (only 2.5 hours from Pgh.)

Not sure, Jim. Looks like 6-9 inches though. Might be a little rough getting around but sure would be fun! Yea on the EX. Son is coming too with the 90. I was hoping one of the locals from St. Mary would jump in here with some scoop for atv and snowmobile traffic, weather, etc.

It was a blast! The trails were packed down from the snowmobiles and quads so getting around was fairly easy but didn't take much to do a donut at 30mph! The only major problem was the hillclimb on the Marienville trail...solid ice and unpassable...had to retreat back to Pigsear. The Timberline is the place to go...no ice there unless you look for it! Sure was cold, though. Chin, fingers, and toes took a beating. Still had fun anyway.
