Man i think that would be a good idea!!! i would dig some pits and have big dirtmounds at the end of each pit like you said. the pulling of a sled would be pretty cool to.

Mudmachine....what about racing through the mud with pushers like they did at the last mudrun in Marshall....I dunno if u saw but OMG that was so much fun to watch....the pusher would have to have one hand on the quad when they crossed the finish line...but usually they would end up being drug through the mud super fast and one guys pants filled up with mud after being drug a ways and came off....That is something i would love to watch again(Not tha guys pants comin off but just havin pushers in the races) If you didnt see it go to the links from this web site then click on Texasbackwoods bandits or somethin like that....they dont have many pics of the pushers being drug around but do have a couple

I want to get the opinon of all you local guys about this... Some people I know that run a local go-cart dirt track have decided they want to try and set up some "pit races" for ATV's. One of them called me last night wanting my thoughts on the matter... Not really any trail riding to speak of, they are talking about digging a couple of pits with hills in between and filling thm with water. Letting it get all churned up, and have like "races" for prizes.. I offered the suggestion of variations of team races, and singles.. I also said that it would be kinda cool to build up some kinda weight sled to have pulling contests... He asked about two quads tying rear to rear and trying to drag one another.. I dont think that would be a good idea.. too many variations of tying high/low for different machines..but I think a weight pull such as a sled or something would work... What do ya'll think?... It would be in Gregg County, just north of Kilgore... Let me know and I'll call them back... Robert

BigBear, Yeah, I saw that at another mudrun too... I saw one guy just getting hammered by the stuff coming off the back tires of a big Honda.. but he held on... Maybe we sould say the "pusher" MUST wear overalls??lololol. Adam, the idea of an MX track inverted would be cool... I am going to talk to them after the holidays and try an get out there to help design the pits and a smooth path for a sled pull... I'm gonna suggest a more "permanent" place to wash down machines that DOESN'T cost besides some guy charging $4.00 like at Karnack.. And maybe some fuel, oil, and sparkplugs for sale. Never know when somebody will sink one and end up with water/mud in their oil. Something kinda organized could become just as much a spectator sport as the participant. Who knows...

I think the sled pulls would be great, but end-2-end as a real competition doesn't sound good. The mud pit races are fun. That's what they did at Shiloh Ridge last time I was there. They did a tag-team race, where you race through all the pits and at the end you tag your partner (on his own quad) and they take off to where you started. It was really fun to watch. I have another idea. Get some blueprints for your average MX track and flip them up side down. All the jumps are now holes, and filled with mud/water. Now that sounds like a race track!
