As of right now, the Jackson County Forestry department has decided too close ALL single track motorcycle and ATV trails too the public for an unlisted amount of time. Trash, erosion, and vegetative damage were the main causes for the closure. Here is a link where you can read more about the closures and respond in your own words about what this means too you.

From what I have read and heard. All of the trails in Jackson county will be closed this year. No dirtbikes, quads, or any other ORV's.

Good news..... Because of all of the respones by ATVer's around the midwest. The Jackson County Council decided NOT to close all of the trails that were originaly on the chopping block. Thanks for the support.
Orge,
I can't wait to get out there and race. I have been thinking about it no-stop since the end of last season. Hope to se you out there.

Are they saying that the main ATV trails will still be open? Does this new closer only affect dirt bikes? I cant figure out exactly what is being closed.

Hey cstark! You ready to eat some quads this year with your tricked out 300ex?
I read through all the posts on the black river falls website, and it appears that just the single track dirt bike trail was closed. I get this impression because a few of the responses stated something like: "park officials state we can still ride on the atv trails, but we don't like to ride on these trails because they're too hard with two tracks from the atv tires...ect.".
One other thing, black river falls has 100's of miles of atv trails (the trail that was closed was about 30 miles), and I think if they closed the entire trail system we would've heard screaming from the hilltops.
Finally, I hope they didn't close everything, cause their trail system is one of the most fun I've ever been on.

If there is anyone here from the BRF, WI area could you fill us in with details of what has happened. Personally I have never been to BRF but planned on making a few trips this year. Are the ATV trails still open to the public?
