Sorry, but the cabin fever and ATV withdrawal is getting to me, so the wife and I are going to go to Haspin on Saturday, regardless of the weather. We've got warm riding clothes, so no big deal. Anyone going, or interested in going? We like meeting fellow members at the local sites...

It's about 20 miles south of I-70, just after I-70 crosses the Indiana border from Ohio. Their webpage is www.motocrosspark.com. I think a beginner would do fine, and leave as much less of a beginner. There are some wide open and relatively flat areas, and then there are some small hills and creeks to ride through. An experienced rider could teach a newbie a lot with a thoughtful ride, and still have a blast....
No, it's not really a loop type ride, like Hatfield/McCoy. We've been there too (loved it!). You could go out at Haspin Acres for an extended ride without returning to the parking lot, but most folks seem to go out for 1-4 hour rides before returning, taking a break (lunch, gas, etc) and then heading out again. Most of the places we rode at Haspin were a relatively short (couple of miles) ride back to the parking lot.

Yeah, well, the spousal unit put the big ka-bosh on making the Haspin trip. Too cold, and we would've had to drive through a pretty good storm to get there and back. I haven't seen the weather for the weekend of the 6th, but that does sound like fun. I'll keep in touch, and let you know. Kinda depends how our first week back at work turns out, too.....

Where exactly is Haspin Acres? I would be coming from around Lexington,KY.
Also, what is this place like? Is it a good place for my beginner wife? She has a Rancher4x4ES.
Is this a pack your lunch and ride 50 miles kind of trail like Hatfield McCoy, or is a ride awhile and swing by the truck when your hungry because your never more than a couple of miles away, like Land Between the Lakes?
