Well my brother and I took a little trip to the Slab after opening the all the gifts this morrning, We did not bring the ATV's because of fear of to much water and no where to ride. But when we got there we wish we had them! The water was not to high and there was alot of trails to ride and play on. Looks like we will be out there tomarrow!! I've ridden there a few time, Lot and Lots of Sand, and Granite rocks to climb on. Alot of the jeeper's go ride thier also Cool swimming holes during the summer. The last few time I rode the Slab the Cops were bad and looking to screw with anyone on a ATV, Mainly Helmet, Googles, Off road sticker from the DMV, and last but not least Must have ATV Certification from Texas. Other than that it a great place except the river is way high right now. If you go twards Lake Buchanan from Burnet, go all the way past the Buchanan Damm about 5 Miles there's a 4 Way intersection take a LEFT on 1431 going south, Go something like 2 or 3 miles take the first main road to the right (NOT Gravel). Go 1 mile hit a Long Low water bridge your there and will see all the sand, North is granite and South is SAND. Let me know if you find any other places around Austin. Here is a link of some jeep shot's from the Slab. http://128.83.80.200/taco/sr_1.html
