From what I understand, the son is taking over and is gonna farm the land. Apparently the old man and woman have gotten in bad health. Its a shame.

They are two of the nicest people you would ever meet. The ole man had a heart attack several years ago...he showed us his scars one day. They had just finished putting showers in out there. Maybe the cattle can use them. Darn, that was a pretty neat place to ride. An era has ended.

From what I heard the older lady that ran it fell and broke her hip...she offered her son to take it over but he declined the offer and said he is going to use it for farm land...it is true that it isn't good for anything except for riding on...it is way to rocky to by farming! I am sure that the people that owned it will loose a little money on this! If they didn't want to walk out and take money every time someone pulled up they could just leave a mailbox out there so that people could put there money in it (kind of like the honor system at Muenster). 99 Yamaha Banshee FMF Fatty pipes, Power Core 2 silencers, yellow maier racing plastic, Blue shockcovers www.geocities.com/mgrigsby21

Hi, I'm new to this. I've been checking out ATV Connection for over a year now, but finally registered. It's a great site. I have lived in Weatherford, TX now for 3 years. I grew up about 60 miles west of here and have been riding Dirtbikes and ATVs for many years. I have been to the flying P many times over the last 10 years. Currently I ride a 1986 Kawasaki KXT-250 Tecate 3 wheeler. I hadn't been to the flyin P since July. Well, I just couldnt stand it anymore so I got my wife's blessing,,(lol), I mixed up my fuel and loaded my Tecate in my pickup and drove out and to my horror, the gates were locked and a big yellow sign posted that said closed. I also noticed on the way that one of the signs pointing to flyin P was missing. So I'm afraid to ask, but has it been permanently closed? If anyone knows please tell me the story of why. I know I can go to RockyRidge and Marshall Creek, but i'm only 7 miles from Flying P. I guess I'll just take my Trikes to my parents place out west and leave them. Thank God their land will never close. Also, if there are any die-hard high performance 3 wheeler owners like myself in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Please drop me a line. If you have an old Tri-Z 250 or '85-'86 ATC 250R to get rid of, let me know also. And remember, this election day. A vote for Al Gore is a vote against our sport! Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any responses. And it's nice to be a member now. Jeb

Hey thanks. That guys pretty brave to farm that...lol...that land isn't good for anything but riding on. Any good places around Cleburne?

Your right though...It is a shame they have closed it. I hate to hear the owners are in bad health. I like both of the old folks...real nice people.
