Is this private or public land?

Itrak,
I live in KC, actually I did up until a week ago. I just moved to Smithville. I'm not sure what you qualify as mature, I'm 33, married & have most of my wild days behind me but I still like to have a little fun. I tend to like riding trails & exploring thru the woods more than racing or track riding. I really like challenges like ditch crossing or hill climbs. I have friends who live in Warrensburg. My problem right now is time. With the move & all, I'm not even sure if I'll have enough free time to do any scouting or setting up for deer season. I hunt on 370 acres up north of Plattsburg. I guess I'll just have to make time.
Anyways, let me know if & when you're going & I'll see if I can make it. I like to find new people to ride with & places to go.

DreyMac,
Man, I wish I could get away this weekend to go to Deepwater with you. I've heard a lot of good things about that place. From what I've heard though, there are some places that are real rocky that are pretty hard on your tires. A price you've got to pay to have fun though. Maybe after I get settled at my new place & hunting season is over we can get together for a ride.
By the way, where did you & your brother buy your Cats from? I ended up getting mine & my Dad's from Zellar's Outdoor Marine in Boonville, MO. They beat everyone else's price by a couple of Hundred $ & were pretty good to deal with. Problem with them is they know more about boats than bikes & they have been pretty much useless since the purchase as far as accessaries go. Have you had to have any warranty work done yet? My Cat has been flawless so far.

I can relate to your experience at Freedom. I sent an e-mail to every dealer in the region and received a quote from a dealer in Arkansas for $5,750. Freedom would not honor their "lowest price garantee" the lowest they would go was $6,100. Zellar's sold me mine in April with the winch for $6,000. Sounds like your brother made the best deal though.
I've only got about 100 miles on my Cat but I've loved every one of them. What an awesome machine. The only thing I've had to do is align the front tires, that probably had something to do with a certain "rough" ditch crossing I did the first time I took it out. I hooked the left front on a tree last weekend & I think it may be out of alignment again. I hope I didn't bend something or knock something loose. I guess I'll have to be more careful. I plan on using it a lot on the new property, the next thing I'm buying is a Moose snow plow for the long driveway.
Gotta go to work, take it easy, Lance

Itrak,
I live about as far south of you as CatLance lives up north. I'm mature, 42 & married with children. I have a cabin down near Clinton that backs up to 800 acres of some pretty rugged strip pit land that I have access to. But, now that it's deer season (bow) I respect my neighbors interests and can't run as free as I do the rest of the year.
I'm going to explore Deepwater this Saturday which is 10 miles south of Clinton. It's supposed to be the largest riding area in Missouri. So far I haven't found anybody to come along so, I may be free for half a day or so Saturday.
Warrensburg is about 25 miles to the north of me on Hwy 13 so it wouldn't be to far to come riding with you. I'd certainly have to reciprocate by inviting you down to my place as well. Let me know.

We have bought three Cats in the past two months. I got my first 500 Auto from Hartzlers Equipment Co. in Harrisonville. I talked to Freedom in Grandview but when they outright lied to me about the list price I walked away. I wanted the Auto 500 Limited Edition with winch and camo kit. The list is $6999. Freedom told me $7299. They will NEVER get my business.
I offered Hartzlers $6500 and they told me to go away. I've never been treated that way before. After a little negociation they still would not come down but, since AC was offering the winch or camo pack for $79 on special, and his price for a regulaer 500 Auto was $6250, I ended up paying $6750 for the LE without the LE. Go figure.
We got the other two out of the paper. I gave $5000 even for a 2000 500 manual with winch. It had only 160 miles on it. I put 200 miles on the brand new Auto the first two weekends I had it.
My brother got his 2001 500 Auto with only 10 miles on it for $5990. He got the original invoice from the guy who bought it from some dealer in southeast kansas. It had the winch for that price too. The guy who bought it used it to put up his deer stand, came home and his wife told him she was pregnant and it was her or the cat. He may have made a bad decision;-)
None of them has had a problem yet. They only have an average of about 350 miles each. I have lost the gas tank resevoir switch, a rivet on the rear mudflaps and a cap on the front bumper . . . so what!
We just dropped 'Claws on two of them. I put a HL lift kit and spacers on the manual too. Since the one I bought new has a full warranty I'm gonna wait to trick it out.
Sorry this weekend is not good for you. It looks like I might not be able to go now 'cause I won't go there alone and nobody can seem to make it. I'll be out of town next weekend so it may be a couple weeks before I get another chance. Keep in touch and let's JUST DO IT!!! Until then . . .
