Code54, you must have SOME state registration to ride PA National Forests legally. Even if your state does not require ATV registration, you must have non-resident PA DNR registraton, available for $ 10/year.

By mail, PA DNR, Box 8553, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
If you plan on riding this weekend, a PA dealer might be able to register your machine if you stop by.
I don't believe a title is required for this registration; however, a rubbing of the VIN is requested.

here in Pa, they do recognise out of state registration as a valid form of "quad ID". Motercycles aren't required to have registration...only atv's. As long as it is STATE registration for YOUR state, it will suffice.

Code 54,
I'm not sure about where you can get the registration. Mine came with the bike when I bought it. As far as what trails to ride, I would go to Marienville. There are 4 trails right outside Marienville. They are the timberline trail, Rocky Gap, ATV trail and the bike trail. The timberline trail is mostly abandoned logging roads, the atv trail is hardpacked trails through the mountains and the bike trail is a rocky muddy off road trail. I have never been in rocky gap. I prefer the bike trail because of the mud and rocks. Either way you can easily put 100 miles on your machine if you want to. There are hotels in Marienville where you can stay. I stayed at the Kelly Hotel ($35/night). They are very friendly to ATV/Bike riders and will gladly give you directions to the trails. The hotel is very old, just like the entire town. Almost like an old gunsmoke movie. I had a blast there the entire weekend. You'll enjoy the trip. Go to www.allegheny-online.com for additional information. You can e-mail me direct at dzolnai@vikingtg.com if you need further info.

Next weekend a friend and I are trying to plan a all day ride. He will be on a XR200, and I will be riding my Rancher 4x4. We are thinging about trying the Allg. Nat. Forest in Northern PA. What is a good trail around there and is it decent for both a bike and a wuad. Also do I need any special stickers? Any ideas or comments will be a help! THANKS!

Do you happen to know where I can get the regestration that I need? We have a valid MD state park permits on bikes/quads now, will that do. I don't have a title yet for the ATV, is that going to be a problem? Thanks!
