Well lets see, If your looking at a Pa map take 476 N to 81 N to the new rt 6 N and they are right off the Carbondale exit on rt 6. And acually the front of the 7 story pile is worse than the back. The small bush at the bottom of the pile is about the size of a quad (use for scale) And when you get to the top of the 7 story you can see the sister pile across the highway. (use car for scale)

For the most part they are gravel, And soft.It robs a lot of power from the quad on the way up. Once you comit to the climb if you don't keep moving you will come to a stop about two thirds of the way up and either dig two holes and stall out or teater there for a second then cartwheel back down the hill. Lansdale is exit 31 on 476 (or the old north east extenion)

You know, That's the fourth time from different people I've heard talk of the twin Zila's. But I have never seen them: Those guys carved some mean tracks all over that place. I would not dare to follow in some places without more "mods" you need a minimum of 40 hp to do the seven story. The sister pile is more fun and much different, Everybody can find somthing over there. Note-- I also spent all day Saterday finding the link from Simson to Carbondale without using the rail road tracks (ileagle). And it's actualty a better ride than the tracks. It's a little tricky to find but better, will document soon.

Those hills are awesome! Right now my Ody is in the process of getting it's engine rebuilt, but as soon as its back together I would love to point it at one of these massive gravel banks. I only wish we had some similar riding areas near me in VA. Eric Zeh

I live not to far away from carbondale. I've climbed every one of those hill on my 250R and my old 350X. It's easier than it looks. The first picture is where all of the 4X4 climb up them. I've seen people on little 200S's and 200SX's climb those ones. They look steep, but they're all not that bad. They are fun to climb too. I was a little scared at first, But when I did it the first time. I couldn't stop. they're great. My friends live right at the base of the piles, and they're the ones with the zilla's. They rip up those things.

One thing that sucks is that within the next couple years they are going to be tearing them down. If've you've been there lately you'll notice that they got survey markings all over the place. I don't have much info on them right now, but when hear more I'll keep ya posted.

Now that I look at the picture, that's not where the 4X4's and 200's go up them, That picture is more over by the hercules. Where I was talking about was on the other side of the road on the back side. Ilike the other side better because there is more jumps, there's hills over there that aren't steep but they are fun. Just one thing not to do while there is go through the wet silt. You'll sink like a rock. It might look like a small puddle, but don't even try it. Watch out for drop offs too.

Yeah I saw my one friend that own one of the zilla's at the mall the other day and he was tellin me that his brother, who owns the other zilla, placed second in a hill climb he was at in the 400 stock class on his 400EX. He also held the top spot for the highest top speed of 108 MPH. that was on his zilla which is piped out, coolhead and some internal engine mods. They ride up there every sunday at 12:00. they also ride with a couple of my friends, who's got a 400EX there's a couple guys on warriors, and 250R's.

Is this at the power lines past Beaver Meadows? If so I was there when some people were doing this climb even did it once myself(one of the dug out ones) but some others were just way tooo hairy. I did watch a guy with a hooked up Banshee kick that hills a** all over the place. He could climb it any which way he pleased with power to spare. Bad thing about that hill is if you break loose you are finished, and it's no fun going down backwards. If it's not the same hill sorry but it sure does look like it.

I think the tracks are from people who came down and got up a easier way from behind.Should of put someone in the pic. so we could get some idea of the scale.

I have seen someone with a Quadzilla go up a hill worse than that (not by much). Only it DEFINETLY wasnt that long. There was a slight easy curve into the hill but the rest of it was literally a 90 degree grade hill he went straight UP. When he waved me up I waved back! =-) '99 Wolverine

Looks like there were already some brave souls that have gone up it.

where do you climb hills in Ky that compare to these pics? I'd love to see them (and try them.) I've been to LBL but didn't see anthing like these pics. My friends and I are always looking for new places to ride and new people to ride with.

Hey, you Pennsylvania boys need to head west to see some real HILLS. Of course they are mostly made of sand and don't hurt too bad when you wipe out on them. Good picture, very clear. Is that hill gravel or solid? Also, you probably wouldn't want to go too fast over the top I'm guessing.

Please tell me you made it up that on your quad!! I've climbed hills just as steep and twice as long on my 400 at Blackwood. Of course, it took 2nd gear, a set of Blackwaters and an uncorked exhaust to do it. This weekend I'll write down the directions to our riding area so you guys can come and see hills that you can't even see the tops of. Ones that you can't even climb on foot and the only thing topping them is a few buggies on alcohol and nitrous.

Ok the 7 story pile is more like it, but it's far too smooth. BTW where is Lansdale in relation to Tower City or Pine Grove? Always looking for new people to ride with.
