Besides the tires and H/C, I am stock. All stock Polaris stuff! He's got 11:1, mudbuster cam, modified aftermarket exaust, ...you know, all the stuff it takes to compete with Polaris! When I am done with the Grizz, I am going to stand on my rack and ask, "Who else wants some of Debo?"

I just talked to FITSofRAGE and he is already making excuses, His engine will not rev up, spitting and sputtering. Wierd how his quad messes up same day as this challenge is called into effect, Isn't it?

Sure hope I can get my CV back together,broken spark plug replaced(don't ask),carb back on, air box back on, snorkles back on, and reverse rev limiter bypass mod finished, so I can go too! Hey, I did manage to dielectric grease my whole quad. Oh, and freeze my twig and berries too! If this stock quad is good enough for the military, why in the heck is it not good enough for me? Oh, I know, 'cause I ride with Mr. Rage, he has a knack for making me want more,more,more,more,more,more,more,more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to get the plug boot off the left cylinder to put in dielectric grease. There is so little room, I felt like Sloth try to reach a Baby Ruth through a very small opening, only using my first two fingers like pinchers. So, I tryed prying ot off with a screwdriver. It's so damn cold the plug snapped in 2. (quit laughing)

AHHHHHH, I see all the japs are sleeping.........You can't win a war when you are in you skivies. Don't you know, you have to stay alert? You need smeone on watch at all times. Ok, here it is....
Rage was the first one to try the first hole, he went in with 15 psi tires and difflock off. He did not do so good, He moved out of the way so Polaris can show him how it is done. It was a cake walk, I didn't even splash much icing! As I was chewing through whatever I wanted to, he let some air out of the tires. I came back to the high ground. Was a little boring out in the stuff by myself. I came back, got on my racksand asked, "NOW, WHO WANTS SOME OF DEBO?" You vould see the rage building , the back of his neck and his ears were red like his quad.
He got some relief, when he tryed the hole again,with lower presure and diff lock on. Success was granted. We watched his work his way out of sight, I jumped on mine and went through backwards, It was easer than to turn around, I must add, it was still pretty easy, even backwards. I had turn around, so I tryed to pick the best area, and wound up in a mud bowl. I was working the quad into a 180 degree fashion, when I heard the unmistakable sound of a CV breaking. It only broke because I was, on a bad bind, I knew I was near the CV stress limit, I tryed to baby it while the wheels were against the lock. Oh well, got the quad out, removed the axle and continued chewing through the stuff in 2 wheel drive.
Fits was dead in the water with a steam/vapor lock issue. Got it running, we continued our challenge in 2wd. We had a blast. The final results are undetermined. We went though the same stuff as each other. Only thing is I went through the first hole backwards, he never got over to it to try it too.
I took a poll from those that were there. I am not dogging his, all I am saying is, I think that I went through the stuff a LITTLE easier, 3 of the guys agree with me, but they own Polaris. So, that is 4 of us that agree, but lets throw them out, incase anybody claims a biased poll. Fits denies that I went through easier, but did not claim he went through better than I did. We will throw his out too, because of same biased claim reasoning. 2 of the guys have King Quads, so their opinions are not biased towards brands and are worth listening to. They said that they think I went a little better, they kept mentioning the backwards trip that I made on the first hole. We had 8 people, but I must have missed the last vote. Talk about "Taxation without representation!" LOL!!!!! Anyway with Fits not trying that hole backwards to count these 2 votes, and with the last vote missing, we have a hung jury. I will speek for all of us, nobody knew how good the 1,000 quad would do!
Bottom line, I think my quad won. Hands Down!
For any that have ever wondered, if Fits is hardcore, you know, If you've read his posts and thought to yourself, I bet he likes to ride. Ride one time with him, and all doubt will be removed. Him and the missing vote dude are back down there again today. I would have liked to go, but I only get to play once a month. You know, family stuff has to get some of daddy's time too!
(Edited in) There were other quad issues too, but this audience was only inerested in the "BOG"

I just marked it on the calender, Dec 9th. Hope it works for all other contestants. The first Saturday I have to watch the kids, The second will work for me, The third they wil be closed for 4 monthes.
Fits is raging about me thinking that I won. Maybe I think this because, I use much less throttle to achieve the same results. Also, (He admits to this) I can stop in a hole and start again, while he can not. He HAS to keep moving. I would assume that this means I have an easier time in the stuff, but he still claims otherwise. I want all the marbles, but I guess a hung jury is not going to grant it. I talked to him a little while ago, he is at the food stand headed back to the truck. He denies that Bubba gave me a vote, I thought I heard him chime in with the guys that agreed with me. He said, Bubba was telling him how good his sounded on the second attempt. OK???? That doesn't mean that he gave you a vote. I figure it this way. Dec. 9th(if it works out) we will do it again, this time we promise to have video evidence. I think we should bring a stop watch too. I wonder what would happen, if I get the big hoss reved up like the Grizz was! I have decided and made the purchase of 4 Gorilla axles. My dealer gave me a price that I could not refuse, $315 each! They will be here in 5 business days. Plenty of time before the next bog, Dec 9th! I am looking to get the 2 inch lift from rubberdown too!

better pack a whinch1 that bog is one nasty trail, and @ss deep! i had to pick my spots but i made it threw!( missing the small lakes!) i wish they would have a section like that at wayne south.(hanging rock) dont get me wrong there are plenty of mud holes, they just cost 180$$ if you get caught! pretty stupid if you ask me! (my money is on the grizz!)

ah look at all this. where did this all come from. my grizzo had a piece of dirt in the main jet. guess from all the bogging. u know how it goes. my grizzoooo will be running tomorrow. its all clean and going back together. my 28 zillas should be here friday. i hope. ordered them tues.. i now have 14.5 inches in front and 14 at rear. with 27 inch. bi and tri claws on it. they are awsome tires. there going on my stock rims. so with the zillas higher i go. i now only have one week ling. well two.. the stock front axles. in back gorillas are running ape.. and if i break a front. well then on come the gorillas. my suspension has been stock all it life. it has some engine mods. but this grizzo has been hair scrambled many times in the utility class around here. and i have done well usually top two. its been jumped. frame broken in several spots. wich my buddy who is instigaters brother. did his madness. and now my frame has gussets thru out. and no more flex.. and no more break. it has over 4000 miles of very hard riding. it has been to arizona two time. 700 miles of riding in under two weeks. its been bogged beat and bashed. and yes my grizzo has always got me home. ive also hurt some feelings of sport quads hair scrambling. that big quad does wonders to the rear of other quads. this old girl has been thru the mill. just ask any who started this thread. hay ill take on any buddy who wants to run me utility to utility thru the woods. and im 40 years old. ooopsss. i mean young. and if thats not enough i can get on the old 450 and really begin to rail.. i like to ride hard and have fun.. welp guess this weekend should be great. everyone likes there babies. and thats how it should be. providing its not a new 800 that gave a boat load of problems at first. id smash it.. so i love my grizz. its been thru heck and back. and so far still keeps going. its proved itself over and over. so for me. ill stick with yamaha. yes there japanese. it would be nice to keep it in the usa. but when it comes to engines. bikes and quads. u cannot beat a jap.. there engines are far superior to ours.. well cummins diesel has somthing on them.. he he. wow never expected this. guess im got alot rding on me and old grizz. and i did not start this.. but ill go with it.. and if she brakes. ill fix what broke so it dont again.. man oh man... what thread this is.. id like to ride some other quads and torcher them like i have this one. just to see what is what.. i may have to get another one someday. of another brand. and just see what happens. but in the garage the old grizz will be there waiting for me. and to heck and back we will go..woooooooooooooo wait till this weekend. hope them zillas come. ill have two nice sets of fatty ohhssssssssssssssssss

hmm u must be about 12 wayne national forest. this satruday. we are heading out at 7 in the morning. look on the internet. u can get directions on the web site for wayne national forest. u still apparently dont know that much about yamahas.. i see the truth hurts..ggggrrrrrrr. no i dont have ocd.. im just hyper.. my name comes to me for a reason though.. so no more sissy typing on here. get the directions and bring it. im sure your younger then me.. we will be parked in door run.. so come on lets play.. oh yea.. funny why the dealer here that does kaw. yam. honda. suz. and polaris. my one buddy had the chance to buy any. he asked the salesman wich would u buy.. and some of the other employees. and they said... suzuki king quad.. oh yea thats the most exspensive quad. they said nope. the row of polaris is the most expensive. but they said for what he wanted to do with it.. suzuki... so that was from the dealer. sounds like i gave the old knife a twist. so wayne national. the 4th. web site has maps and so forth.. so bring it on. im ready.. end of story

well i dont own a john deer.. welp looks like this saturday is on. the big old grizz has been maintenanced. and looked over. got to keep it as tip top as possible. hope my zillas come in tomorrow. we can also see the difference between the bi and tri claws and the zillas. i will post wich one i feel did the best job for me. through out this bogging trail ride. the mud machines are 27" but at 5 lbs they are 26 inches tall. u have to blow them up to about 12 to 15 to get 27 actual inches. i hear the zillas are a tru 28 at normal tire pressuer. instigaters tires made mine look like donuts at my lower tire pressure. so it appears that the zillas truely are what they say they are. and thats nice. so far my grizzo is at about 14.5 in front and 14 in back. inches of ground clearance. and should gain some more with the zillas. now if my stock front axles will handle this at these angels i dont really know. but if they brake. on come the gorillas. it needs them any way. this will be a fun day..these poor quads are going to be tortured. both of them.. im sure after this weekend. we will post how they did. and the difference if any that i felt in the zillas and mud machines. now hopefully both instigater and i come home in one piece. we are friends. not enemies. we stick together no matter what. one will not let the other behind. we ride together. and i do like his quads. so this should be one fun weekend. providing neither of us break our stuff. and i believe we will have a few hookers to get us to the trees when stuck. i dont care how big or bad they are. u can stick them all.. but its fun getting them there. so until saturday. im going to be there with my fatty ohssssssssss on.. inside joke

ah come on dude. its all fun. yea u see my name. im a little different. but i would never leave u stranded man. riding off road u all got to look out for one another. its just like the chevy dodge thing. we are a good group of gys to ride with.. a little crazy yes. but good. we all have helped others in need on the trail. and ive been helped by that big instigater when i broke a tie rod. trees stumps and tie rods dont mix. friends rag one another. thats just life. competition is fierce with this group. but there are much older gys then me that ride with us. and we never leave them behind. may get ahead of them. but we wait at the next point. any one who off roads is good in my book.. we all are doing the same thing kinda... let me tel u 40 comes quick. im quite hyper for my age. dont act it as u can see. i like to play hard my self. always have. im lucky enough to have done many things in my life. and im here to talk about it.. many lucky times.. i usueally ride alone. have pretty much all my life.. so i have to take care of my self. especially when riding in arizona. man ur a long way from home.. but now ive got buddies to ride with.. and its fun.. this weekend. me and instigater are going to abuse both these quads. and have a ball in the meantime. and if i do break. then out comes 450 and im still riding. if u dont break them. then ur not riding them. they all break sooner or later. and if we get stuck. instigater will just throw us out of the mud hole.. man this gy is like gigantic.. but very good fella. there will be 7 or so of us so far. if any one at anytime wanted to join in. thats cool. and if they had some problem. even though we did not know them. they would not be left behind.. so get that thing fixed so u can ride.. fun.. lets keep the fun in there. yes competition can do strange things to a fella. but fun must stay there.. we all got to work monday to keep up this money useing hobby.. now hows that. see im not sooooo bad.. just different

well i knew this is how it would go. for u jap gys. the grizz went thru everything the mv7 went thru. and i did not break a thing. the first time i tried 4x4 without diff lock. and i just slowly drove into it i struggled. and the 15 lbs of air is not the trick. even though it gives u some more ground clearance .the mv7 i dont see how it won hands down. with my mud buster cam and clutch set up. i do have to get some rpm up to get into the power. the mv7 is geared like a d9 dozer. the engine winds up but the tires move slower. with my 2nd pass. in diff lock. my engine was screaming at its higher rpm range and my tires were screaming. i went thru this pit with the nose of the grizz riding hi. the butt was down and the nose stayed on top of the muk. now if im able to spin my tires at this speed and my engine is at its higher rpm range. how can i be laboring. these other fellas thought that with the noise my quad made from my fmf pipe. and my engine screaming that i was laboring. if my tires were not spinning and my engine was lugged down. then id say i was laboring. the only issue i had was after i was completely out of the bog. my plug boot came off and in went some water. so i let it dry out. now the mv7 was broke. i went thru the same hole in two wheel drive that the mv7 went thru. and then back to 4 wheel. and i went completely back thru the bog from the other end. again. and the grizz went back down on sunday and did it again. without breakage. and the poll that i heard when i was back. was the two skirt wearing ones. the one rides a pol. and does not like me cause i cuss. and wanted to leave. the other was mad because after two hours he wanted to go home.and did not know his way back. and rides a pol. the other pol. rider never said anything in front of me. so i guess that one just told each of us what we wanted to hear. and the two suzuki riders. one said i screamed thru it the 2nd time. and the other suz rider said the same thing. but thought we were about 50 50.. they thought they both did good. and yes the mv backed thru part of one pit. and i never tried that. well one hole i did. so without any unbiased opinion i guess thats the end. im not saying i won this. but the mv did not win this no hands down. i went thru each thing the mv7 went thru. and then some. without breakage.. the mv7 is very impressve. with its tractor like gearing. u can stop in the worst of muck. and bring the tires back up to some speed. i do not have this power right off idle. but with my engine at the rpm where it builds power. it screams. and then no slowing down. the mv tractored thru it like a bull dozer. the grizz went thru it screaming rpm. and the nose stayed up above the muck. so if hi rpm and fast tire spinning and loud exhaust is laboring well then guess thats what it is. but if she was able to go at these hi rpms. and keep its nose up. while going thru id say it did its job. look at a highlifter race quad in a pit. the noses are usually up. so the grizz went where the mv did. the mv went where the grizz did. the mv is geared like a tractor. and can get power right off idle. the grizz has to get some revs to get into the power. so guess we need to work on that. the grizz has impressive power up hi. the pol. has impressive pulling ability way down low. and also the mv7 in reverse has the same tractor like gearing. where the grizz in rev. does not have this low gearing. but guess foward momentum is good. so yes i like the pol. mv7, i was very impressed with it. and it would take a guy like inst. to ride this thing like he does. i dont see any ordinary fella manhandle this thing like he does. so polaris gys. if u like d9 dozer gearing. the mv7 is for u.. im sure ud like it. i think ill stick with my grizz though. im not running right out and buy a pol... im actually getting interested in a kaw. brute 750. but not enough input yet. so as of now i dont see where the pol. mv is any better then a yamaha or any other jap ride for that matter. its all in preference. but yes i was outnumbered with 4 pol. riders. so guess that deffinatley was not unbiased. but these gys are my bestest friends!!!! and it was alot of fun.. but for the fatty ohssss.. the mudzillas came to me because of instigater. and as of now. they are the baddest tires on the planet. very very impressive. they smoked my bi and tri claws. now next ill have to try some outlaws. but for now. for just any thing u can throw at them. id say mudzilla!!!!!! so yes yes. i liked the pol.. yea yea. i was sad to see it break. i did not want to see that. i thought id probably break a stock front axle. but did not. gorilla here we come. and no im not red faced. nore was my neck. untill i kept hearing. how far to the truck. when will we get back. when when. ill never go to wayne with u again.. ooops. i drove my own truck. own trailer and own quads. i go and leave when i want. the four of us are very hard core. the other two ride for about ten miles and there done. so the hole trip was great except for that. so take it how u want. i just want to ride with my friends. i like my buddies suz king quads alot. alot alot. and i like inst. mv7. it fits him to a T. and he now has a ride he can use. and run amuck with. but for now. ill stick with old grizz. man wish we had pics.so my opinion is. tires, setup, where ur power is at. many things come into play here. and no these are not stock quads battling each other. and u do need someone unbiased who just doesnt care. and u could put zillas on about any big quad. and have a monster..welp here comes nitrous eeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkk. now enough of this lets go ride. but please no more skirt wearing riders..

ahhhh bravo captain. that was a good purchase for that d9 dozer. u probably wont break them now. dec. 9th the bog may be froze. we would just skip over the ice. next we need nitrous, bigger higher, more more. when does it end. ive got to get another quad. soon this thing wont be trail rideable any more. and what on earth will we do for food at this time.. we may starve and freeze back there in the bog. and have to wait till spring to thaw out.. we need to start the long haul hard core riders club. and yes i agree we need to spend about a day in the bog. but we may want to go there just ourselves. id say after a while it does get boaring to others that are there. ive got to see about getting some lower cog for the grizz. i may change cams to somthing with less duration to reagain some off idle power. and im going to try one of those highlifter sd clutch kits. and maybe some spray.. now that would bring anything to life in the mud. hay bubba likes it....

My money is on the MV7...the yammy's just dont have that grunt like the Polaris do. If I still had a 4X4 quad I'd be there!!!

Hey dont blame polaris for makin better 4X4 quads.....I have owned a yammy and road the heck out of it too but that dosn't mean that it's the best thing in the world! Oh and I said grunt not torgue......the polaris pulls way harder than the grizz sorry to say but ur grizz is goin down. Probably need to ask ur buddy on the polaris to pull ya out...haha

sounds like ur the one that has an OCD condition......and yess i have rod the big bore polaris's and yammy's...the yammys being alright but the po po's arn't in the shop all the time or in the garage all the time like the yammys.. Forget about the CEO of Polaris talking trash about how tough his Polaris's are , This sat.(4th) at Wayne National Forest around 12:00 noon time at the mud bog there will be a duel between Polaris and Yamaha... we will see in person what really happens.. the 2 contenders are (Instigater) riding a 05 Polaris MV7 with 28 inch Zillas on it ..... ..... ..... FitsofRage which will be riding a 03 yamaha grizzly with 28 Zillas also ... if they arrive in time .. which dosent matter if the tires arrive or not he will still run the bog ..trust me...

Well I must say I had a blast!! put 74miles on my new quad with no major problems other than a few stalls(hopefully its just the breaking in thing and nothing to worrie about)
The Mud Bog was a nasty stinking mess, I still smell it on me and I have showered twice! But yes they both did what they said they was going to do.
Fitsofrage and his yammer hammer, Instigater and the poo poo(M1 Abrams)LOL. Polaris got it on. Neither of them got stuck they was the Kings of the bog.
I do have to say I think my vote will have to be dismissed as well only for the reason that Instigater is my brother, and fitsofrage is one of my best friends,
they both have monster quads.. I guess if I was to be asked on my opinion (after thinking about it a little more) they both went through it pretty easy.
Yes the Grizz did have a little trouble on the 1st pass, but after a few adjustments His 2nd pass was impressive just flat out walked through it.
Now the backwards pass in the bog, well lets just say I never thought it would have went but it did. They both had there moments where each of them had to use reverse to get a better run at it but not once did either of them get hung up.
As for thr Grizz not making a pass backwards im going to say it would have done it only because on one of his passes back torwards us he needed to back up to get a better run at the hole, and he did go quite a ways backwards to get into position to make the run back out of the bog.
Im very impressed with the MV I really never thought that big heavy tank would do that good in that kind of mud.
Now I may not be the Mud Bog king(yet) but 1st place for service calls last night has to go to me..lmao
So does this mean I have to get some tires, clutch kit, etc etc etc. and See if my King Quad can beat the Bog???
