I use an industrial degreaser and then ride it around for 5 minutes and then put the oil in.
Worked good for the first minute. LOL

I'd say your probably safe. It should have had enough oil residue on the parts to protect it for 10sec. Nobody revved it up during that time did they? Even with the oil in it, after an oil change it shouldn't be revved at all for at least 20sec.

the viscosity breakdown of oil takes a long time. I'm assuming you change it at the correct intervals. You're engine will still be plenty lubed, and 10 seconds isn't even close to being long enough for the oil to heat up and thin out.

Compound you'll be fine.
V2 you're brave.

i would fill it with oil and crank it with the kill switch off until the oil pressure light goes off. this should prevent anything from happening to the engine while the filter is filling and the engine is getting oil. this will take a few seconds. otherwise, you will have a few more seconds of running without oil while the filter is filling ect...

If this ever happen's to anyone again ,after you put the drain plug back in refill the sump ; then remove the spark plug an add a table spoon of oil in the cylinder and turn the engine over a few revolutions with the spark plug out . Install spark plug and you're good to go , that's the way i do lawn and garden equiptment engine's when servicing them ! ...................williebee

I wouldn't recommend what V2 does, but you accidentally running it without oil for about 10 sec will not hurt it. Because more than likely in the pump and Oil cooler if you have one and any residue left will have protected it just fine. If you wanna be safe I would add the oil run it for maybe 30 mins or an hr and then change it again to ensure there is no metal shavings. Just remember when it was new? When you change the oil for the first time you get metal shavings out of it and they recommend 20 hrs on it before changing it thats a long time with them in there so 10 sec can hurt anything.

Hey everyone, first time on the forum!! Well heres what happened. The wife and I where changing the oil in the ATV's and some how the plug got left out of the 2005 660 Grizzy and she started the motor, well it ram for about ten seconds before i could get it shut off, didnt do anything weird, no weird sounds. I guess what i'm asking is ten seconds running with no oil going to mess anything up??
Thanks!
