Yes, but before you offer $50 for the quad, charge him $49 for retrieval of his quad......LOL....... Man oh man do you have your work cut out for you. You probably have to totally disassemble it to clean it. Good luck and let us know how it goes. But, do get a bill of sale. BTW, do you have any pics of the quad before you start on it????

Man oh man, that is more work than I would tackle. Good luck and keep us posted.

The funny thing is... if he still holds the title... he can legally take it back from you at any time...
good luck with the rebuild...

That's an interesting story. Any idea how it ended up in the lake or how long it was there? Is it finder's keepers?
Being that it's a Honda, I'm surprised you couldn't just drive it out.

That's awesome man....elbow grease is always abundant....and for using some you got a running quad as a result!
I'm betting you'll hang on to it for quite a while...and even if you buy a new ride you'll have a buddy bike with some character

Iv got a 96' Trx400 4x4, i found it in a lake at the local mudhole and i have started a rebuild of it, i got the entier top end redone and all of the broken bearings replaced, the electrical system is fine, even the neutral ect. lights work, but when turning it over i found that the timing was off, i took off the front cranckcase cover and found out that the chain is kinking, so i believe i need a new timing chain and chain tensioner. (I could only get the tensioner to come out about 1/4") Where is the cheapest place to get these items?

Friend thought it wasnt worth fixing so he drove it till a wheel came off n messed a up a hub, then set it on fire n pushed it into the middle of the lake, proll 10' under for a month till i found it, he said he didnt want it and i could take it, i plan on makeing a 2" lift and 25"x12" outlaw msts on it, we had to ride it a mile through the trails while being pulled behind a rhino, but it nver seized up the whole time it was under

I know its been a while but the results are awsome, since my last post i got all new body parts, i custom fabed an exuaghst using a R-6 muffler, gave it a custom 2" lift, dual snorkels, six off road lights, siren, the seat is a little better but still not for the bike, got 4 a/t tires from an 06' rhino and just ordered 4 26-12-11 vampires for the mud, i installed a warn 4-2-4 last week, its gone from a peice of junk to a true mud machine. Since starting this project i have been givin 4 more fourwheelers for almost free in the same condition, 2 of them are already running and im about to start on the third, I'll have pics of all of it next week after the install of the new tires
