First you need to know what YOU wnat in a quad such as, IRS or solid rear axle. High?low range. Locking front differential. Belt drive or solid shaft etc.
Remember that some of the quads with the bigger engines also have more weight to drag around so some of that extra power is lost.
I'm with Dirtydude, if you like the Kodiak, you'll love the Grizzly.

I've seen a few King Quads that really boogie on down the trails stock. I'm not much of a ute guy at the moment myself, but for the $$ I think the Zuk is tough to beat.

Only one model comes with 26" tires. My H1 has 25" tires and I still have 12" of ground clearance.

when i bought my 650i (the first one within three hours drive) everybody thought i was trying to save a vew bucks. i had enough credit to get the Bomb 800, but i really felt the 650i was the best machine out there for what i ride on. i was surprised at the power the thing had (accually more than i need by a healthy margin). i don't know about mud or fast trails, but on the worst of the trails, the 650i just won't quit. you will want new tires tho...

i had mine in Moab a couple of weeks ago. it did me proud. it hauled me, my GF, spare fuel, and a Tamarak trunk loaded down with enough stuff to make getting back to the truck pretty likely over the Poison Spider/Golden Spike/Gold Bar Rim trail (rated as 4+, the most difficult atv trail in Moab according to the local atv club). no problems at all with the machine. even the belt held up fine to the slow creep up nasty climbs. every time i ride it i like it more.

650i doesn't have near the power of the 750? i'll pretend i diddn't read that. too, LOL. no, really, some posts have the 650i beating the 750s and some have it the other way, but either way they are close. those posts were from guys that accually raced them.

Is there some reason you arn't concidering the Kodiaks big brother the Grizz? You are happy with your current yammys it seems the logical progression.
I am wondering if perhaps your caught up in the hype factor is all. The KQ700 doesn't seem like such a glamorious quad once you delve into the complaints dept. I need to go to the dealer myself one of these days and scope it out really well, and I won't have the glazed eyeballs of a drolling new buyer and over look all the details of design. I admit they are aweful pretty on the eyeballs though.
Do yourself a favor and look at them all. I hear AC has some really nice offerings also. I rode the 05 AC V2 and it was a damm nice machine. But I didn't like the tranny. All of the machines have positive points and flaws, it's how they differentiate themselves. Yammy always stays middle of the road on everyting, so it does it all well but others might be better at some things and worse at others, like a jack of all trades if you will.
AC = racks and tons of ground clearence
KQ = EFI and sporty handling
Grizz = Jack of all trades
BF = speed, but now lost it's niche to Bomb
Bomb = mass power, EFI
Popo = devout cult like followers (reminds me of those Saturn commercials)

Yes the yamaha history is they throw out a bike that blows everyone away then everyone plays catch up..but that only lasts a year or so (except banshee)
they tend to leave their bikes the same for a long stretch until they start getting to be "middle of the road" like their dated Grizzly is now. It's a bench mark quad and I beleive other manufacturers have caught up to the Grizz a long time ago and surpass it in certian areas
It's not the fastest, but does very well
It's not the tallest, but it's not far behind
It's not the sportiest, but it isn't too dang shabby neither
It doesn't have the fanciest racks, ok so the racks blow but they work
It doesn't have the most power, but it isn't lacking either
That is why I think the Grizz is the best "all around do it all quad"
Posted by: Dirtydude
everyone who didn't buy a Grizz for a Ute screwed up imo
You'll regret it, soon as you ride with someone on a Grizz or when yours breaks down whichever comes first

Hi guys. I am wanting to get a bigger quad. I am looking real hard at the Suzuki King Quad 700 , the Kawasaki Brute Force 650i and 750i and the Honda Rincon. I would like to know pro and cons of these if you have one or know a friend with one. Thanks for the help!
Posted by: kodiak48
well i would like a little more power. I just dont feel like the 400 is getting the job done for me. Dont get me wrong I really love my kodiak and I am gonig to keep it (its paid for). i just want to get another quad with some more balls.
Posted by: kodiak48
thanks for the help guys..... I plan on waiting for yamaha to release their new quads in June. Then I will have to go and do some test riding of a few quads
Posted by: kodiak48
Well guys I went out today on my new CAMO Brute Force 650i today. It is awsome. I am real happy with it so far. I will post some pics soon. If anyone wants updates on what I think just let me know.

i have mudlites and itp type 5's
Posted by: kodiak48
yeah i went through some yesterday....check out my pics. This quad is great, against my kodiak its like comparing apples to oranges. It rocks!!!!
Posted by: kodiak48
it is up in close to logan canyon in utah. we dont ge tmany mud holes out here. only in the spring. its to dry in the summer.
Posted by: kodiak48
yeah i took those wheels and tires oof of my kodiak. I am thinking about putting the stock tires from the brute on the type 5s and putting the mudlites on my stock brute rims. i would like to keep the kodiak looking cool with the nice rims for my wife. plus i got camo for a reason. the itp rims look nice though on my brute. i am not sure if the stock rims will work with the bigger tires.
Posted by: kodiak48
monty this quad is great so far. and i can't see it going bad only better. it is a solid machine to this pont ..... i am stiil 3 hour shy of my break in. i am sure by the end of the summer i will be able to really give a good report on the quad. al in all i love it so far and i am very happy with it

I have a brute force 650 sra and love it.I tried out both 650 i and the sra.I found the i to be "tippy feeling" and went with the sra.I do alot of trail riding, and it's an awesome machine.

I have a 650V2 and love it, i also think bomb is greast also but a little over priced, and my next selection would have to go to the Grizzly
Posted by: v2rider
Actually, ground clearance is won by arctic cat, and you get The V-twin that BF has, so you get the best of both worlds!
Posted by: v2rider
I dont have a BF, but i know what you mean. I have the same motor and tranny, i just preferr AC ground clearance and other options. But anyway, the power in these things is amazing, especially after a few mods!!!! I feel like i can almost overpower any other quad, which isnt true, but it feels like it! It really makes you feel good when you have to pull both of your buddies through a mud hole, that you just succesfully crossed!

Wrong. As stated above, with 25" tires they are the leaders in ground clearance, and they have a wuder stance, so they really arent any tippier than yours. As afr as tight places, your right, because of the stance. And they are just as dependable
Posted by: v2rider
Tippy front to back?????????? Ill pretend i didnt read that.
Posted by: Brute23
IF you are going to get a Grizz I would wait till they come out with the new motor and stufff. I am not bashing the bike, but you would be kind of buying an "out-dated" bike compared to the rest.
The KQ700 is nice because of the fuel injection.................. if you need that.
The Rincon's lack of a Diff. Lock and power does not make it an option for me but is still a great bike for a certain type of riding.
I think the BF650i is a great bike and the best over all. It has great handling. Its handling is comparable to the the Rincon but with a lot more power. It will out run all of the other bike you mentioned with the exception of the BF750. This bike, in my opinion, is the best over all bike. It is in the top two in everything out of all the bikes you mentioned.

The brute didn't exactly lose its niche since its pretty cheap compared to the polaris 800 and bomb 800 and comes in with high ground clearance for the mud riding crowd.
Yes the AC is the highest stock four wheeler but just because they made it wider doesn't mean its not tippy front to back because they didn't make it longer.
650i doesn't have nearly the same power as the 750... don't buy one thinking so.

The best value on the market right now is the Brute Force 650. There isn't a more durable big bore available. Kawasaki took the award winning Prairie 650 chassis made a few improvements, put some newer styled plastic on and called it the Brute Force 650. The BF650 can commonly be found at $5500 to the $6000 price range. There isn't a harder working sportier handling utility out there. It is not an IRS machine, but if your into fast trail riding, mounds of power and overall durability this one will fit the bill nicely.
If you are looking for the ground clearance and a plush ride of an IRS machine the Outy 800 or 650 is the machine to get, if you can't afford the Outy go with the BF650i. The 650i has geometric improvements over the 750 and handles better with nearly the same power.
I personally like the IRS machines, and if the 650i would have been readily available when I was buying I would have bought it over the 750. I love my 750 and a very pleased with my purchase, but now after I have used the 750 I would like better handling and a lower ride height.
All of these choices will smoke a Grizz. All you have to do is decide whether you want SRA or IRS.
Posted by: MadLT
Good choice! It seems like everyone that has the 650i likes it.
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
why do you want ant thing bigger than that 400?I saw a 400 just like yours pass up a grizz,a king quad 700 and a rincon in a mud pit.It had mud lites on it.
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
it would probally be cheaper to buy some aftermarket parts.exhause, jet kit maybe a big bore kit if there is even one for it.I think highlifter has a lift kit for it.
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
yeah,my freinds got a 03 grizz and that thing will go trough any thing
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
How about either a rincon or a artic cat 650.I saw a pic in dirwheels of a artic cat with a "gorrilla axle on it' with mudzilla's and it had enough clearence to fit a 5'10 man under it.I belive the kit is called "cajun swamps"
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
well then again it is all about what your riding type is if your really in to mud boggin get an IRS machine because it has higher clearence but if your in to trail riding get a stright axle quad
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
what are you going to set it up for?Mud or what?
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
I know tha all the people who race in the utility class have BF's.I would get mudlites for your new tires
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
have you gone trough any deep mud holes?and how does it compare to your 450?
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
damm, thats thing is unstopable!!LOL where was that mudhole at?
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon
I bet it is fun to ride out there! Here are some pics of my mud/water holes.I wish i had a Brute.Have you gotten it uo to its top speed yet?And are those the wheels/tires from you kodiak?
Here are my pics

whatever, dude i could smoke you, trough any mudhole,up any hill,in any track.it would not even be a compatition. my top speed is 56,how about you?
Posted by: hillclimbingrecon

I would recommend the kq or the brute force but as for the Honda everyone makes a good and a bad quad but my opinion from seeing Hondas utility quads are that they are built pretty cheap. Like my friends recons the plastics are really weak and the engine on all three have problems with the carbs.
Posted by: bombrider04
um the recons are all 03's i think but the plastics except for the kid with the es have all warped and are really weak
Posted by: bombrider04
bet my ozark will laugh at you b/c u wont even make it off the line w/o a problem
