I saw similar devices for sale, and thought of a cheaper way. Works well. I slid a large size Kong dog toy over my winch cable to keep tension on my winch cable when not in use to keep it from rattling, and it rides approx midway down the cable to hopefully help dampen the cable if it snapped during use. Total cost: $12.00

That is a sweeet Idea man I happen to have about 10 of them layin around for the dogs. I bet they wont mind if one or two end up on the winchs
