You need to look into how many watts those lights are drawing and check on the wattage load limit for your stator.

What was the reason for failure on it? Were you running too much load, bad regulator, short cct??? This is the first time I've heard of a stator failure on ANY RUV, or ATV for that matter. Maybe take it to a motor winding shop and see what it would cost to have it rewound. They could probably use a little heavier wire to give you more power output as well. For $700, it's worth looking into anyway0.

He's asking how many electrical accessories you have, like a light rack, GPS, heater, winch, back-up light, heater, TV, stereo, blender etc.... if you do have this stuff, was it wired correctly

Bought a Rhino 15 months ago and the Stator assembly went out and the cost for replacement apr. 700.00, Yamaha would not help even though this should not happen according to the dealer, only on older motorcycles do they see this problem. So if you are looking at a Rhino, BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yamaha will not help you on defective parts after the warranty. Hindsight is 20/20, should have bouhgt the Polaris

Too late, needed it back quickly(only 1 week left in duck season) and told dealer to fix it but thanks for the idea. I have no idea what the cause would be, never carry heavy loads except for my big self, another rider and guns. That is exactly why Yamaha should have helped with the cost , something was obviously defective.
