I would be wondering why two different people have owned a quad and yet managed to put less than 50 miles on it total.

I think the KQ is a great machine. I wouldn't worry about the recall. Get it fixed and ride it. I have two friends with KQ's that fall in that range and they have not had a problem. If I didn't currently have my Grizzly that would be my quad.

quad238, welcome to the forums. My advice to you, quite honestly, would be to just do it. If you need all my reasons and arguements why, I really don't care to relist them here, search for topics on the King in the Suzuki forum and look for my posts to people that have asked about the abilties of this machine.

I'd stick to either Warn or Ramsey when it comes to winches, to be safe. Congrats on the new toy!

if you know the owner and history, maybe its OK, but.....

if you are the type of person that keeps something, and you can afford it, buy new

you just never know buying used.....that's a lot of money only to find out it was dunked or owner ran it without oil by mistake (and it appears fine now)

I would not do that to someone, but I have seen people get screwed

I'd get an extended warranty somehow....the factory air filter lets the upper end get trashed and it starts blowing blue smoke.....the rear cv joint covers are spinning around somehow, they have had recalls on the front tie rods (among other things), some transmissions are still failing and now theres alot of guys having belt issues that may be caused by the trans....the dealers are blaming that on the owners. Give them another year or so to get up to the reliability percentage of the griz.....I'm sure the reslale is better on the griz right now too..
I sure wish Yamaha would come out with EFI for the griz though..

Yeah that's a great price, the KQ is a great ATV too. 50 miles..it's practically brand new, that's not even broken it yet. I paid 7500 otd brand new for my 05 KQ in June. Suzuki has the reverse gear covered for 5 years so you don't have to worry about that. Just make sure you get an aftermarket air filter for it..either a Uni or Twin Air, the stock air filters let air into the engine.

That's a fairly good price for a Camo model with those extras, but the 05 KQ for 6k is a better deal, since it comes with a winch and run flat tires.

Yeah I didn't know he is the second owner I would be wondering why it has only 50 miles with 2 owners as well there'd have to be a problem with that low in 2 owners...are you sure it isn't 50hrs? Either way it looks like to play it safe you should go with the new Camo model you got quoted for.

Yeah, I'd be careful with anything used, make sure the speedo is actually working. I went to look at an Outlander that was advertised as "only 63 miles" and the guy wanted high blue book, well I went to look at it with the intent of buying it. He opens the garage and I was immediately suspicious, plastic was scratched, brakes looked a little used, small crack in the front bumper....turn it on, yep, 63 miles. Well I go to ride it down the street.......Speedo isn't working, I check the hours, it was at like 50+ hours.

I get back to the guys garage and tell him about this and he says "someone must of left the key on".......Yeah, I'm a freaking idiot. Wonder how many batteries they drained in those 50 hours of leaving the key on? It was worth LOW blue book at best. I was kind of irritated I drove nearly an hour to look at it and ALMOST brought my trailer.

Hi Guys, New to the forum here. I came across someone selling a 05 KQ with maybe 50 miles on the machine and it's in showroom condition. It comes with a Brand New Warn winch and run flat tires but the down side is that it falls within the recall range for the tranny problem. I know Suzuki is taking care of that problem just can't make up my mind whether to buy or cry?? Please any input would be appreciated...

Thanks Andy

I forgot to mention he's willing to take 6000- for it. Is that a good price?? Any differance in the 06 and 05 models??
Thanks

Posted by: quad238

Well I just got a quote tonight for 7925. 06 camo with winch + mounting plate & 4 year extended warranty no tax... How does this sound??

Posted by: quad238

The problem with the 05 is that the person is a second owner (No big deal) the machine was purchased in Dec 04 so it's a year old. The tranny issue was not taken care of but the ECM issue was. I could not get the extended 4 year warranty because the 6 month factory warranty expired in June 05 so I really don't know what to do. How many people buy extended warranty for there machines?? Is it really worth it?? Need guidance. Thanks

Well I'm picking up my new Camo KQ tomorrow night 7150. OTD now I think thats a good deal. Quick ? is the venom winch any good??

Posted by: quad238

Well, I made the plunge and got the KQ Camo for 7309. OTD with the warn winch and mounting plate I could not pass this deal... Now its time to find tires... So far so good with the quad but the rear tires definitly look crappy.
