Arctic Cat 700 EFI Question

I think it's going to have the same ECM as the KQ, so the lag will probably be there. The difference might be in gearing, as AC is using lower 4.0:1 gearing. It might allow the motor to spool up faster and reduce the "lag time" but I doubt it will cure it. If it does, you'll sacrifice a little top end. I can't see AC using their own ECM on a Suzuki motor.

Just a bulletin, if any of you guys have the opportunity to ride one of the new 700 EFI Arctic Cats, please just nail it from a dead stop while paying attention to the speedometer up until about 9-10mph and tell me if you feel the notorious "lag" that KingQuad owners talk about. If you are unfamiliar with this problem, just look at the Suzuki forums. It feels as though, on a KingQuad, from 0-9mph, you're held back just a little bit and then it snaps out of the hole and really gets going. I'd love to know, along with a ton of others (you seriously have no idea how many), if the new AC has this as well because if not, it could be huge for us. If you are a dealer or are somehow in really good with your dealer and could plug the Arctic Cat ECM into a KingQuad and see if it makes a difference (after riding the King with it's original ECM so that you know what it feels like), that would be ideal. Feel free to PM me as well. Thanks guys....

There will be a 700 out soon. It has the same motor as the Suzuki KingQuad.

Well some have said their local dealerships already have some.

They did the same for the King, lag remains.

I noticed in the new issue of Quad magazine I got in the mail the other day they mentioned that Arctic Cat had remapped the ECU for better cold weather starting. Take that for what it is worth.

As far as I know, ArtiCat does not have a 700 EFI. The biggest is a 650 carburated?

Posted by: UGLY88

EFI= electronic fuel injection.

Never a stupid question.
