My local dealer (Highlands Tractor and Kawasaki - Texas) sells the BF650 SRA for $5899 OTD farm exempt. They sell the BF650i IRS for $6199 OTD farm exempt. And, the BF750 IRS for $6799 OTD farm exempt. They are the largest kawasaki and Massey Ferguson dealer in the south central. These prices are their every day no haggle prices and they don't add any freight prep or other crap. The price is well below the MSRP and straight foward.

i just got mine home minutes ago. BF 650i camo. i can't wait to run it. i think the poor lil suzuki is gonna be my loaner, but it has taken me to 10,000 feet elevation more times than i can count.
gotta start putting togather a tool kit now. i'm gonna run the stock tires till i tear one up then go with Bighorns or the like. i like the Gators on the lil suzuki, but something a liittle less aggressive seems appropriate for the 650. (higher road speeds).

BF650guy, is yours the I model? what do you have planned for mods?

dshoe, it seems like the 4wd switch takes about a second to engage. it acts like it is an electric motor that engages the front end and it takes a second to turn the stuff enough to get the front end in. then, it is a random thing whether it goes right in or if the quad has to move or spin a tire to get the gears lined up to mesh (this is standard even with manual engaged quads it seems). so far this is the only feature i don't really like on the BF because if you get stuck in 2wd,you gotta be careful getting the front end engaged to get yourself out.

i paid close to that for mine (i got the $69 warn winch with mount kit since i have a plow for my suzuki) and i'm happy with the deal. less woulda been better of course, but i did my research and wasn't gonna get a better deal here anytime soon.

Great VIDEO REVIEW on the Brute 650

BF650guy,

How's the new IRS on it? If you have ridden a BF750 is it better or the same? What did you get it for OTD if you don't mind me asking!

ps
CONGRATS!!!

IRS = Independant Rear Suspension (I don't think you have it which isn't good or bad, just depending on where you ride and what you want to do with it)

OTD = Out tha Door Price you paid that includes EVERYTHING extra they may have charged

Billy Joe,

I thought $7,444 sounded kinf of expensive as well. I know yours is SRA and his is IRS with a manual plow....but in the midwest area (IN)...I thought you could do a little better. Maybe not....maybe the '06 BF 650 is that hot right now.

BF650Guy:

Can you confirm for us whether or not the 4x4 engages instantaneously when envoked, or does the bike have to move a few feet before engaging? Also, is it in both forward and reverse, or only forward? A friend of mine, who used to have a BF750, claims his bike would not engage the 4x4 until it rolled several feet in a forward motion. He also claims that it would never engage in a reverse motion. Another friend, who I just spoke with a few minutes ago and who owns a P700, claims that his bike is different in that it engages immediately in both forward and reverse.

I physically looked at a new 2006 BF650i earlier today, and I think it is a very impressive machine. I would even consider one, along with the Grizz, 2006 Rincon, and 2006 KQ, if I know that the 4x4 engages immediately as does the Grizz and KQ.

I paid $6250 OTD for an '05 camo leftover (SRA) with the Warn winch and upgrade to 26" Maxxis Bighorns on the stock rims.

I agree - this thing simply hauls!! It has incredible torque for hills. I've gotten it stuck once, as my rear diff hung up when my tires dropped into some deep ruts. I haven't gotten stuck anywhere else - including some pretty wicked mud.

For the $$ - I have no complaints!!

My wife bought me an 06 BF 650 SRA in camo otd for 6499.00 This machine will really scream.
I did not get any extras with it but they are coming.

The 2006 Kawasaki Brute Force 650 4x4 kicks butt. I just bought one yesterday in camo Real Tree color. The front end will raise on this sucker on the road. If you want sheer power and torque this is the one! It has a CVT belt driven transmission. It sounds like the engine is revving high at about 35 miles and hours but man once you punch it it goes even faster. I had it up to 50 and it wanted to go quicker. I took it up and down some steep southern Indiana hills and it tore over the hills like they were nothing......Thumbs up!!!

I just got it so I am not to sure about the IRS yet. Sorry but I do not know what an OTD is? I am a newbie at this lingo.

Posted by: bruteforce650guy

To be honest I have not really had to kick it into 4 wheel drive yet. But I will let ya know as soon as I get back on it.

Posted by: bruteforce650guy

It's not the ,"i model", it's just the 650 model camo. I gotta tell ya though for a 4x4 it is quick. I am used to riding my dad's yamaha kodiak 400 "older model", and it the Brute Force puts it to shame. I really like it. It's still on the first 10 hours of ride time so I can only go 1/2 throttle. But I had it up to 55 mph for a couple of seconds. I cannot wait to tackle the dirt and mud.

I only paid $7444.00 including a manual plow. It also has differential lock and IRS.

Posted by: bruteforce650guy

Yes you are right it takes going a little forward or backwards before the 4X4 engages either in Reverse or forward. Not to shabby though. As far as the OTD that I paid that also includes taxes. It was in the upper $6000 range before taxes.

I moved to AR from So. Cal and the difference is like night and day. In CA I could buy a brand new bike for $100 over COST with my employee discount. Here in AR they sell them to EVERYBODY for roughly $200 to $300 over cost. WELL below MSRP. We also have to compete with Abernathys in TN.

I paid $6300 for an 05 SRA at Henson Kawasaki here in Texas. That included the 4yr warranty and 26" Mud-Lites all the way around. My cousin is about to go get him one too. They are the best bang-for-the buck big bore out there hands down.

I recently bought a green 06 BF 650i, it was $7250 out the door, I'm very happy with my choice, after reading some reviews about the stock tires, I went with the bigfoot kit with mud bugs and type 7 wheels, looks awesome, I havent had a chance to go for a good ride yet but low speed on pavement is very bumpy, is this normal?
