I run an HMF on my BigBear and I am pleased with it. However riding in that type of area, spend the extra cash and get the quiet core/spark arrestor insert. Its worth it.

I changed the filter to a K&N. I did not Re-jet as HMF said it did not require it. My bike is running great (nice medium brown plug) and the increase is definatly there, I notice it alot from my freinds Bear. The Kodiack my be a little different form the Bear though......

Yeah I got the HMF as well and thouroughly enjoy it. The power is a nice upgrade over stock. I did re-jet and add a k&n with outerwears. I bought the quite core/arrestor and put it in once just to see what happend. It made the sound similar to stock and it seemed to restrict it a little bit over an open muffler. I ran all over National Forest this weekend without the arrestor (whoops) and was stopped by the Rangers, but they never said anything about it. I really like the HMF and was very pleased with the gains.

I'm looking to install a new muffler kit on my 2004 kodiak. I'm looking for a little more power. I ride mainly trails, some hills, some mud. I also ride in national forest. so which muffler kit is right for me and my riding.
