Car wax works fine as long as you get a few coats on the plastic when it's new and not scratched. Some colors look better than others. Black/white I use the wax, red it's Lemon Pledge.

Ive waxed mine a few times to keep it looking new. There's a product out called plexus that the snowmobilers use that I'm going to try, it works miracles on snow mobile plastic, shoud be just as good on ATV's.

I gave up after the first ride on keeping mine looking good.

well you should clean them every time you go out for a ride i remember when i first got my hp i washed it like every week and it wouldnt me dirty

You will be amazed at how the dirt and scratches gets covered up when you apply Pledge or even WD-40 over the plastic

I see absolutely no reason why you can't. They get the living crap beat out of them. They run through mud, sludge, river water, cesspools, poison ivy and oak, sand, gravel, and dirt. They get smashed, dashed, rolled, crashed, crushed, and all around abused, misused and neglected.

A little Blue Coral won't hurt a bit.

Actually, I've never tried any stuff. I pry the dirt and mud off after it dries, then wash it - maybe. Since we bought ours at the end of '03, we've probably washed them three times. Hell, they get dirty just sitting on the trailer going out to ride...

Holy crap! Pledge eh? I'll have to try that. I normally do nothing to beautify our machines, but being as Pledge sounds easy, I'm all for easy...

Most auto waxes are designed for plastic as cars today have a lot of plastic parts. I like using wd 40 on everything before I ride and then just hose it off when I get it back.

Try baby oil. No kiddin. I have some friends who race cars on dirt tracks. After they clean the car, they use a garden sprayer full of baby oil and spray the underside, the fenders, the tires, etc. This has stopped the problem of mud building up during races. It works great on ATV's too! And, its environmentally sensitive!

Tryed a small area on my ATV with car wax and it looked like crap. Heard of others using Pledge furniture wax. Figured what the heck. WOW!! Is all I can say! It makes your fourwheeler shine like you wouldn't believe. Plus it makes dirt and dust come off way easier when you wash it. I now Pledge mine everytime after washing my ATV. Try it...You'll love it!

You will be surprised but Pledge hides the scratches well. If you have scratches you need to remove you need a plastic scratch removal product. I found this one by searching and I have used it on heavily scratched goggles and plastic with great success.

Yup, another Pledge fan here also...

Automotive wax is just fine to use on the plastic just stay away from the so called cleaner/wax stuff that is out there. Something else I use on my green BigBear is a Mothers claybar , helps get the grime of that hosing and washing does not remove.

Any plastic cleaner would work.

i dont think a wax would work that well unless it was specifically for plastic. IT would not glaze on and wipe off like it should.

wash it good to get all the dirt off then put a few cap fulls of that car wash concentrate bubbly soup stuff, then use a sponge wipe to wipe the soupy water and clean all the plastic good. Rinse off soup and let dry, before completely dry douse all plactic with armor-all, then let it dry and before you go riding the next time wipe off all the armor-all so it is now shiny and dry. be sure to wipe off all armor all befroe you ride of dust will stick to it. You can also wait for the plastic to completely dry after rinsing it and then spray armor all and immediatly rub it off like you normally would. I just think the first method is eaiser.
