Okay I own a 2003 Vinson Auto and just bought a 2005 KingQuad. Can anyone with experience on both of these give me the pros/cons & likes/dislikes? I don't pick up the KQ until Wednesday but the biggest thing that sticks out to me are KQ's extremely small racks. What were they thinking? I'll take the extra 10 pounds for some decient racks!

Vinson 500 Auto
- Very stable on off-camber terrain
- Corners very nicely
- Good ground clearance for a SRA machine
- Good adjustable suspension & comfortable ride for a SRA
- Nice power
- Good double cargo space
King Quad 700EFI
- Low center of gravity for an IRS machine
- Easy steering
- Corners nicely but dips somewhat on tight turns
- Good ground clearance
- Adjustable suspension & comfortable ride (better than SRA)
- Power, Power, and more Power
- Good double cargo space
- Engine Breaking is very good
- Smallish racks
- Differential Lock
- EFI – no more messing with a carburetor
Summary
The Vinson is a very good machine that does everything well. It can handle the rough stuff while still light-footed giving you a very sport feel. Large gas tank and excellent gas mileage; very much needed with gas prices. Proven reliability and performance at a very low cost.
The King Quad raises the bar with its 700EFI. The statement: “There is no replacement for displacement” is so true. While not as easy to handle in the tight stuff as the Vinson it more than makes up for it in every other area: mud, steep climbs, comfort, & over-all power. Still a newcomer so reliability will only come with time but max performance is definitely there and again at a lower cost than most 700cc quads.

If you are looking for something like this why not consider the TwinPeaks?

4xZuk,
So when are you going to break down and pick up a KQ?
Posted by: Outrage
Sell the Vinson & Honda and get a KQ and a Z. Doesn't get any better than that.

Sounds nice and let me just say the KQ can get some air too.

There's still some snow on the higher elevations but most trails are now passable. Weather is perfect for riding. Warm enough to ride without several layers with lots of mud, some snow, and little dust and mosquitoes but as it continues to heat up the dust and bugs will be all over the place.
I'm still breaking in the KQ so I haven't pushed it to the limits yet. This is my first IRS machine and it's a bit hard to get use to. Give me another week or two and I'll be able to better answer that question. Let me just say this though. When I put Mud Lites on the Vinson I felt it took a lot of it's ability to slide the back end but the extra traction I got in the snow and mud made up for all that sliding I was able to do.
Don't shoot me for saying this but if you are a diehard SRA person then the TwinPeaks is probably the way to go. Maybe I'm speaking to soon because I don't have a lot of seat time on my KQ but the IRS will be hard to get use to especially sliding in and out of corners.
Remind me in a couple of weeks and I'll give you a better review.

Outrage-
Def. my next quad. Although my daughter is jonsin' for a Z400. She wants to start racing............I'm in the middle of a hop up project no the Vinny, so, I guess I'll wait 'til it's done.

What's that sound? Oh, it's the lid from the can of worms you just opened. J/K. That is the plan. Some might think I should wait on the Z450, but.....the kid would be on it (most of the time), and she's not-quite-ready to be ripping around on that knid of HP. We rode Turkey Bay (Kentucky) and she had the Rancher in the air a lot. When we stopped for lunch, she informed me she was in need of "something that can get more air". As for me, I think the KQ will fit the bill.

OK, No B.S. I rode one at a press intro. I've also rode a Brute Force (the 750). I liked the KQ's rear suspension better, but didn't get a chance to jump it. I did jump the BF, and plead the 5th. Anyway, you know I've "aired" the Vinson out, ( not to the extent that 581 has) and know it "flies" straight. How's the KQ when gravity is defied? Also, what is your take on power sliding? I liked the KQ in the corners but haven't taxed one there either. I'm a big fan of SRA's when the wick gets turned up. Translation (and you know this): easy to get "a$$-out" in the corners. What I'm getting at is-how bad is the "squat"/roll when you nail it in the curves? Thanks buddy, and I'll e-mail you w/ some other news. BTW, how are things in Alaska? Brrrrrr, or 'skeeters?
