If the P700 is what hooked you on wanting a Sport ute, Then I would say thats what you should buy. I have 3 of them along with a SP800 and Dad has a P650 / KQ700 / BF750. I have spent a significant amount of time on them all, If you like the feel of the Prairie 700, go with it. Its the only one that feels and rides like that. All of these others have there good points and bad but I can tell you from experince none of them impress me like the Prairie chassis family of V-twins (Susuki Twin Peaks 700 / Prairie 700 / Brute Force 650) Dirtwheels Just had a shootout with the 4x4 of the Year the King quad 700 vs Last years winner the Prairie 700 and the final statment in that article sums up my opservation very well " The Prairire 700 is still the best 4X4 money can buy" Its faster than everything out there but a Brute 750i and handles much better than the IRS brute IMO. If you still want some of that sporty feel the P700/Twin peaks is your machine. The P700 has also beat its brother the BF750i in ever shootout I have seen. That should also tell you somthing about the P700.

They have a slight difference in gearing that gives the KQ an advantage in top speed about 3mph, but the P700 will beat it in drag race. since most drags don't involve top speed. Basicaly if you run them long enough and far enough the KQ will run it down. There are a few modds available to enhance the top speed on the P700 but keep in mind these are belt drives and there is only so much that can be done to improve top speed. It is however entirely feasable to get the extra 2-4 mph the KQ has on the P700. I would venture to say there are more performance modds available for the Prairies than any sport ute out there.

I should have taken some pics of the 700 last weekend after doing some muddin down at the Ker dam area by salina OK. It was our first time there, I am knot sure there was any blue still showing when we left there. It took about an hour and 10 bucks worth of quarters to get it clean agan. It was worth it though we had a blast slingin mud off all four tires 15 to 20 feet in the air. Sorry dude on the trade deal, I had a DS650 last year for a very short time, my back just can't take the sport quads anymore. Thats why I built my 800 Twin Peaks, So I could run with the best of them at the LS. dunes without killing my back. Plus its kinda fun smokin some of the fastest sport quads out there with a very stock looking blue utility. Oh they laugh when you line up next to them, but the looks on some of there faces at the end is priceless!!!!!

I have several different combinations for different ride areas, Tell me what pic number you were looking at and I can tell you what wheel and tire combo is on it in the pic.

Posted by: cc1999

Pic's 1,2,5,17. All have one of my favorite combinations on them. I came up with that combo about 3 years ago and have had very good luck with it. I have combined the original ITP Type C (C=cast) wheels with a OEM tire from a honda forman (Bridgestone Dirt Hook series 14 on the rear and series 15 on the front). They have proven to be a good combo and a good compromise. The Wheels won't dent or bend and have a nice look to them IMO and the Tires are not heavy so they don't rob power like the Bighorns and other heavy tires on the market do, plus they offer much better traction and more than 4 time the tread life of the stock dunlops. Being OEM type tires they also allow me to keep that nice smooth ride like the stockers have.

no brute force 750 is

Posted by: CaptainQuint

I'd consider Polaris but I can't stand their 4x4 system and that idiotic single brake lever. If their SP800 had a normal selectable 4x4 system with a front diff lock and normal front and back brakes then I'd seriously consider buying one. Their positively ass ugly styling I could probably live with if they had the mechanicals straight but for the love of Pete Polaris either lose the goofball brakes and 4x4 system or at least offer the option of a normal configuration.

well i'm letting go of the DS650 due to no time to go to dunes or the river....thinkin on a big bore 4X4. i recently read that the polaris 800 outran the zuki KQ in a drag, and KQ was the main quad i was lookin at, that and the brute force. so i guess my question is is the polaris 800 the fastest 4X4?

i understand what your saying but i still think the brute is best for me...first off, the goodies that the popo can come with straight from the factory dont impress me enough to want one...im the type to want all those things, but i also want different styles and what not. and im not worried about the tippiness because im not really plannin on haulin serious ass through trails. well...i guess the popo is impressive, but i have just always said i would never buy a polaris...a friend had a 500 H.O. and i just dont like how they sound, how they drive, had decent power, but i just didnt like the overall feel of it. its just not for me. than for the opinions though. i like hearing everyone dispute over quads, not the "Which quad is the best in the world" disputes, but i liked how you guys were disputing over which was better for me...thanx again.

hm....i may let my dad get the brute and go with the 700...is it as fast as the KQ?

Posted by: cline

CC1999, i have an idea, why dont u just trade me your 700 for my DS? LOL. i just looked at your pics and i am very very envious of you....your quads are beautiful.

Posted by: cline

im sure any of the quads listed will due any work i will need...i dont have much work for it to do...except maybe haul the occational buck out of the woods...but if my quad is half as pretty as cc1999, i wont want to get it dirty!

Every since I put on my IPT 27" mudlites, I have no problems with being under it on the corners, and it is not tippy anymore. AND my tires cost much less than getting them from the mfg or dealer.

The Sportsman 800 is the best mudder you can buy and does well on the trails too.
Its a work horse with lots of storage and was actually faster than the BF to 20 mph, overall the BF is faster but not by much.

The BF is not the best trail or sport machine, its tippy and the Prarie 700 or KQ would be better for pure sport and trail rining.

Look at all the premium options (wheels, tires, work lights etc....) you get on the Sportsman 800 including EFI and thats a biggie.

i love my 800, not as sportie as i wish it was, i have remorse for not getting a predator like i originally thought. but the ground clearence is the best, and theres no better suspention. the 4x4 is iffy, and the motor rocks. i have dragged 750's on dirt and i have to say that of the 9 times ive done it, ive only beat them 3 times and it was just by a hair. my 800 also stomps out honda 250 MX bikes, which is fun to see. in a hookup though, with the 800 in low, theres no more torqier engine then the 8.

but if your into high adrenaline stuff like me, want to jump crap, corner tightly and all that stuff. a Sport Utility IS NOT for you.

i think your best bets are hte brute force and the SP800. now you should go and ride both to see what you like. i tried the brute and didnt care for it much, the V-Twin didnt have that rumble that the side-by-side piston design. though you'll be able to get ALOT more aftermarket power from the brute force as their makeing a 840cc kit and since its carbed you can increase the power alot easier and cheeper than these EFI's. though not haveing to wait for the motor to warm up is something nice

GET A BRUTE FORCE!!! Easi8ly the most intense 4x4 on the market. The Popo is only actually 10cc bigger than the 750 (The B.F. is 749cc. the Popo Is only 760 cc.)The Polaris is great if you want a work machine only , if you want a versatile machine get the BRUTE.!!!!

Posted by: lastcall102

If you are looking for a atv for farming, work, etc. grab the popo as far as the bf vs prarie thing that popped up yes the prarie will track better than the bf on a straightaway but the prarie will never keep up with the bf (with an expeirienced rider aboard) on a straightaway
on a hill well that is where the bf will kill anything especially with the great front diff. lock. But opions vary

Posted by: lastcall102

also on the hill issue i brought up i am talking about sport/utility 4x4 machines not sporters

what kind of tires are you running on that twin peaks those tires look sweet
