The Agri-Fab system looks intersting but mounting the impliment to this "trailer" would negate one of the 3-point systems primary advantages. When the impliment is mounted on the tractor the weight of the impliment and the draft is transfered to the tractor. With this trailer between the quad, tractor, and the impliment I wonder if the quad will have enough traction to really pull much. You might be able to add weights to the quad to overcome this but then you have the added hassel of putting them on and taking them off each time you do tillage work.

Anyone have any experiance with this?

Thanks Reb, what you are describing was along the lines of what I was thinking with the three point system.

Sounds like you have engineered a way around the problem, we may all be buying you system one of these days. Good luck with your project.

Check out agri-fab.com. They have a relatively new atv user friendly 3 point system. It is pretty cool. Does not put any wear/load on the quad itself. Just hook up the 3pt. attachment "trailer" to your quad, then connect a 3 pt. implement and you're ready to go. The real cool thing is that when you're done discing, mowing, grading or whatever...just unhitch the "trailer" and you can hit the trail.

No experience but I am curious. Do you have a website for Dirtworks? A couple years ago I couldn't find an ATV Ag. system I liked so I built my own. Even have a patent pending on it now.

I looked at the pictures and maybe a bucket could be mounted on it but I doubt it would be worth the effort. I suppose a person could make a receiver for the front of the ATV to mount the Dirtworks system to but again, a lot of effort for very little return. One other concern I would have is whether mounted on the front or back is it only attaches to the receiver as far as I can tell. If you picked up much weight you could bend the receiver or hitch. I suspect that is why they also offer the trailer attachment to hook it to. Again, I am only going by the pictures.

I have one of the trailer type implement systems. It is well built by performs poorly. The only way to make it work properly is to add weight to hold it down but then that extra weight works against the ATV. After I seen how that one works I built my own and have it patent pending. It is what I call a carry behind system similiar to a 3 point except it only uses 2 points to attach the implement. It applies down pressure which can be adjusted up to a couple hundred pounds if necessary. My ground here is very hard and rocky which creates some problems. Basically I need to extra down pressure to penatrate the ground but allow something to give if I hit a rock. I couldn't even guess how many rocks I have hit and pulled up with no damage to my system. The other 3 point ATV systems I am aware of apply a solid down pressure which means if something is hit the implement system has to lift the back of the ATV to get over the object which could do a lot of damage to the 3 point system and/or ATV.

Is anyone familiar with the Dirtworks 3 point hitch system and how well they work ?

I think their site is www.whirlwindind.com/index.html It looks pretty interesting but I wonder how well it can hold up and whether it can be mounted to the front end with a plow or be adapted to a swischer bucket. Take a look.

The 3 point system is actually made by Kolpen Industries and their site is www.whirlwindind.com It says it
can be mounted or rear . I was wondering if it could be adapted to use a swisher bucket on it or a plow. It might be a nice way to lift it if it didn't drain your battery down in the process. They also have other rear mounted
implements that can be used for a variety of jobs . Take a look and let me know what you think.

That's a good point about it only mounting to the hitch and not the entire frame Reb2.I'm not sure how much vertical stress a hitch can take for lifting applications. Also by the time you add the weight of the bucket, the 3 point system and the load in it , it might be pretty tippy up front. Thanks for your input on it.
