The older Grizzly's use to get Vapour lock (steam) but I thought that was fixed for the 03 model. They redesigned the side panels to let the steam out. Maybe someone could shed some light on the subject. The only other thing might be that the snorkles can sometimes come loose. Fix for that is to check it a couple times a year and tighten if neccessary.

I haven't had any troubles with mine yet. I have hit some water holes real hard and produced a lot of steam and haven't had a problem yet. If you hit it hard enough anything will sputter. My bud's 600 Polaris did it this summer when he hit a stream at 35 mph and it sputtered a little and cleared up right away. What I'm getting at is if you hit it hard enough any machine will sputter in water.

Grizzlys are rich from the factory, so it will be a possibility. The steam displaces air, which causes the sputter. A K&N filter would probably fix it because it makes it less rich. I rejetted mine and it never did it again. I bought a power kit with a K&N, outerwares, and dyno jet kit. I highly recomend it. I also highly recomend the Grizzly.

A lot of people thought they were having vapor lock, but they were actually having steam problems. Some grizzlys did have problems with boiling gas, but it hasn't been a big problem since 03. Proper jetting will fix both problems instantly. The are slightly detuned from the factory and it really wakes it up.

I'm looking at buying an 05 Grizzly and have heard that they have problems when going through deep water (i.e. sputtering, stalling etc...). Is that true?? If it is, are there any ways to fix it??

Comments are very appreciated.
