Curls is misinforming you. Like any IRS quad, it tends to sway on high speed corners. I have had mine on mx tracks, on high speed trails and dirt roads with off camber turns and have never felt like it was going to tip. If you don't like the sway you can tighten up the springs but you will tend to slide more on turns and it will not be as plush a ride.

Thanks for the definitions, but when someone that is uninformed or inexperienced talks about the Grizzly being "tippy", thet're thinking "tip over". I ride my griz on the motocross track all the time in fact I'm trying to get the local mx organization to add a utility class just for fun. I have not had a single problem with corners, off-camber or otherwise. I won't jump it or hit the woops hard, I'm not stupid. Try your Griz on the mx track, you'll be surprised how well it handles.

When you're breaking over bumps it makes that noise too. they all do it, so if it quits I guess you should start to worry.

I heard so much about the Grizz being "tippy", "top heavy" etc etc, I almost didnt buy one. I will agree at first, it did feel unstable, but I think it was more of a mental thing. I agree with everyone that suggested tires 150%. It made the Grizz feel like a different quad. Plus if the tires dont make it feel any better, add a set of spacers or new rims........HEY thats an idea to tell the wife "Honey, I need those ITP type 6 wheels bc it ll make the stance wider, make it more stable AND safer. " BR>

You have to use some common sense when turing sharp on steep hills. Anything will turn over if you do it wrong.
Replace the tires with 26" or bigger, 10s up front, 12s on the rear and you have a solid machine. You should replace the stock tires on any utility quad on the market anyway. IMO.

i still have both the stock wheels/tires and c-series with 589's. It is a totally different machine with the wider aftermarket wheels. I also have the springs on the highest setting. It handles great with no feeling of being top heavy.

I've ridden all the big bore quads except the AC out in the woods. The Griz does tip and dive some but you get a really nice ride. If your not racing its really never an issue and you don't really notice anything until your speed is up and your on an off camber corner, Yeehah.

Tip, sway, you've just repeated what I had stated so I've included a few definitions to help you.
TIP:
To move to a slanting position; tilt: tipped the sideview mirror slightly downward; a weight that tipped the balance.
Sway:
To incline or bend to one side; veer: She swayed and put out a hand to steady herself
Don't confuse tip with tip over!
I own an 04 Woodland Camo Grizzly and I love the machine. I also have ridden and owned enough other quads to know what corners well and what doesn't. I would not use the Griz on an MX course unless I felt like loosing. I won't take a SRA quad to the rock pile either. The Griz is an awesome ute, use it for that and you'll love it. Race it on off camber corners you'll wish you didn't.

I must confess I've done the motorcross thing too with the griz and it's a hoot. It does make a funny clacking noise when airborn what is that? I was catching about 4 feet of air and you hear a funny clack clack clack noise. A friend of mine on a SP700 quad which I dusted all afternoon didn't make any noise in the air like the Griz does. My lap times on the Griz are somewhat slower then what I lay down with the YFZ.
beginners and newbies should not try this!

Thanks, I never worried about it much but always wandered what it was. This griz is just so much fun to catch air on. Not "mad" air but 2-4 feet. It lands so smooth it's a blast.

Im with batmanacw 100%. Stockers are worthless in my opinion. A set of new tires and rims will solve your prob.

If you are worried about stability I would definitely get better tires. Stiffer side walls help alot. I stiffened the front one step on the preload adjuster to keep the front shocks from colapsing on hard breaking into quick turns. It works awesome. I can cut it insanely fast. If you are on a really bad off camber you should stand up if you can, because it lowers your center of gravity to the floorboards. It really works. I have had it on some hairy hill climbs and a nasty trail where you have to go down a steep hill, then go around a tree and turn back up hill. I rolled my bear tracker, but my griz never had a problem. I also have ITP rims that make it wider by about 3 inches. You definitely have to ride the griz, but it is worth the extra effort. It feels light and nimble on the trails and up steep hill climbs.

I have ITP c-series wheels and 26" dirt devils. They really make it stabile.

all it is, is the drive train cush drive slack in the drive line, if it wasn't there it would break the drive gears

one thing that i've done to mine to keep it from trying to high side in the corners is putting a set of works tripple rate shocks w/res. for a banshee set up for +2+1 a-arms. The Res. mounted right to the frame and it gave the front end almost 2 " of travel. Also a steering stabalizer from Noss Machine helps out alot too.

If anyone is interested about making their grizzly go faster, we (k&n motorcycles) are going to start doing engine mods to them. I'm trying some different setups on mine (2005). We have some plans for the motor, basically everything you can do to a raptor, high compression piston, ported, valves, springs, cam. One thing we did learn is that a raptor cam doesn't work very well in a grizz. I'm thinking about boring it to 686 but i can't decide. I've already done a full HMF Exhaust (heat wrapped), ported intake manifold, Noss Pro-flow air box adapter, k&n, dyno jet kit, steel braided front brake lines, works shocks, and a noss steering dampner, and we've experimented with heat wrapping some things because those motor get real hot, we are also still running stock tires and wheels. We also put on all the GYTR front bash plates, and a set of Sportech hand guards, they look really cool.
