for a pipe and filter it is critical to rejet.

There isnt really much you can do to the BigBear to get alot of TopEnd power out of it. As for the Gear swap that you mentioned there is alot more to it than just changing 4th and 5th. It was intended for the BigBear gears to be put in the Wolverine not the other way around. I am sure that it is possible but its going to run somewhere around a grand after all the work is said and done.

I havent bought a new pipe yet because I havent decided which one that i want. I think that I am going to go with a Dr.D slip on unit,

Correct you are unless it states otherwise with the pipe. If you go with an HMF Dr.D or Supertrapp I know that they require a rejet

A pipe/filter combo alows the engine to breathe better, allowing for a much snappier response when you hit the throttle, they will increase horsepower but I dont know if your going to find one that is made to increase top-end power on a BigBear. Most people want low-end power like me.

I'am planning on getting a pipe/filter/and re-jet. Is there anythnig I can do for top-end? I heard that you can switch the Wolverine 4-5 gears with the big bear. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Big Bear 03 I know, I know, but I want just a little more!! You think the pipe/filter/jet will do it for me? Mine is 2x4 only, so I dont get to mud as much. I only use it for work 20% of the time, the rest is just playin'. Thanks for the help.

You dont think I would have to re-jet, after adding the pipe and k/n filter?

I am sure that it is possible but its going to run somewhere around a grand after all the work is said and done.
Ouch!! Do any of you guys have a pipe and new filter? I guess I can just go buy them and try for myself! Then I can post my results....

Would the pipe/jet/filter really give 20-25% hp gains? That seems pretty noticable! I cant wait to find out!

Dumass,
The Big Bear is geared to low for top end speed and is a tank. I would not waste your money trying to make it a sport quad. The Big Bear is the work horse not the race horse.

I would not rejet. If you wanted to do the pipe I saw a good deal for two differnt kinds on ebay for the bear. Do a search on big bear.
I would say yes to the K&N filter. But I do not think it is going to give you want you desire.
I'm thinking real hard on that new stealth exhaust. I have heard good things about it.
Good luck......
