Shaft drive is from the trans to the rear wheels. Almost all utility atvs are shaft drive.
The belts are the transmissions, not the drive line.
Honda is the only company without a belt drive, and the hondamatic is the only one worth a darn. The Rincon trans is bad in just about every way, except that you dont have a belt to get wet or replace.
The vinson is the largest utility atv availible with an auto clutch transmission. Manufacturers know that belt drives can handle the power of big bore sport quads, and they know that automatics are more convenient for most riders.

How long before we see an updated grizzly, I bet not long, and probably somewhere around a 750

Okay how bout the raptor motor and trans with a 4x4 setup that is sporty, an updated wolverine if you will. They could name it "BLACK BEAR" or something

Hey coolguy, I am not sure if you know what I am saying according to your reply, so I will repeat 5 speed clutch with an aftermarket style auto clutch installed, so you could still clutch it if you wanted but also shift w/o the clutch if need be. This also gives you a stalling capability. There will be no belt drive but probably will be a shaft dv up front with chain and sprocket out back like a scrambler.

yamaha needs to drop in that new 974cc tripple 4 stroke they just cam out with for the snowmobiles, it designed from the get go for use with a belt drive clutch setup, and a 9500rpm redline. yummy, a 120hp Ute!

How fast can the tires spin before you get going? 700 is tons of power not to mention 850+. Put yer $$ into tires and rims, then go hit a mud hole.

I think it would be interesting to see them beef up the wolverine engine, but I am not sure about this changing the name stuff. No one will know in advance and one day it will be a 450 twin.
