YEAAAA special ED YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I love this topic. This is like racing dump trucks.. I got $40 bucks on the MAC,, na dude, your cracked $70 bucks on the international hands down! na dude the MAC has the power deisel.. SO the internationsl has tight ratio gears and an air shifter!!

Dude, I have a stock 400ex that I ride once and a while and let me tell ya, I can take my buddys piped grizz, p650 not a prob.. Now if ya really want to feel slow line up next to my DS..

You UTILITY racers really should get air horns so you really sound like charging dump trucks

Something smells.....You guys see any Bulls with Diaharea??

No way, unless you're racing Special Ed, can any ute beat a decent (400cc+) sport machine in a decent drag. 100 yards or better.
Not going to happen, and I own a very fast Grizzly. Sure, up to about 30MPH, I even lead in some races, but c'mon dude.....who do you think you're fooling??!?!?!?

Posted by: cueball89

my p650 would stay about dead even with a piped and jetted kfx 400. I had alot more mods on my 650 than the 400 did. He pulled on me the last time we raced because my rear tire was about flat, my belt had 1700miles on it, and i put on sure traks. I have a p700 now so i dont see why a 400cc sport quad and it couldnt be even. My p700 will run 6.04 in 300ft up hill on grass. Theres a p650 running 5.5s in 300ft.

depends on the terrain

Posted by: maddog56

Well the twin peaks and the prairie 700 are exactly the same machine, and they are both faster in a drag than the polaris 700efi, so there is your shootout right there.

Posted by: maddog56

I was within 1 quad length when I raced a piped and filtered warrior with paddles up a sand hill on my stock Prairie 700. We raced 3 times with the same result. Its possible, just not without a few mods and only against mid range sport atvs.

Let me clear this up for you guys.

The author of this thread is comparing utility atv's to sport ATVs.

But just for kicks, how is the acceleration on the ninja 250?img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

which sportbike?? probably not

What does the 700 weigh? Close to 700 lbs.? Vs a 350 lb. sport bike? That's a 350 lb. weight penalty!!!

I just got through smoking some in the drags at the big jamboree in Wallace Idaho hundreds of people saw it. I smoked Raptors 3 times. I do have viedo of a few of the slayings. I also won the event in the 4x4 class. But a Polaris I think NOT.

Posted by: ChaosInMt

Look at the article in off-road.com/atv, then click on the Wallace Jamboree arcticle. The opening photo is me anyhow look in the photo section ond you will see me beating the Honda Z400 that won the barrel racing event .( I have teeth up front) The stock snokle is very restrictive and you need more air flow into the air box. (its the air box air inlet) I run the EPI Black with the Dalton Plain White for all round. (not for smoking sport quads)I run different springs for different events (drags, pulling, mud bogs)Oh my profile is not very up to date.

the 500 can make it to 60..takes a long run to get there...but no I dont think the 700 would be able to keep up

Toe to toe on a trailer thats about it.

Posted by: KodiakOwner

a magazine should do a shootout for top speed betewen the twin peaks, 700 sportsman and the kawi v force 700.

Posted by: zorro700

Okay lets back it down a little. I love my 700 efi, BUT unless it is one of those 50cc sportbikes, wake up and smell the a$$ kicking. No production quad is going to beat a sportbike in a race ( on decent ground ). Now hopefully not too many polaris owners are going to get on here say they can (then you would sound like a Honda or Kawi owner that can either drag John Force and win on a 400 ex or pull a D-9 dozer out of mud above the tracks with their praire).

Posted by: zorro700

Wait a minute. Is this thread about a sport bike or sport quad? Huge difference. Hopefully I misunderstood, because I thought we were asking about a sport bike, ZX's, GSXR's, CBR's, R 1's, (that's what it says).

you beat the honda z400?thats pretty easy to do

I doubt if he knows exactly how fast sport bikes are. A 600cc sport bike has about 110 horsepower at the rear wheel and weighs 370lb wet. Most will do over 160MPH and rev to 16,000 rpm. My Sport bike is a Suzuki Hayabuse and will do a quarter mile in 9.6 sec with a speed of 145mph. It has a top speed just under 200MPH. In a little over a mile my bike can go from 0 to 198 and back to 0 all verified on a GPS. Granted mine is 1300cc, but a quad beating a sport bike get serious. The only chance a quad would have is a very short race maybe 20 feet or less. My bike will do more than 80 mph in first gear. I also have a nearly stock XR650 dirtbike that will also do just a tad over 100mph. I ride this quite often with my Bro in law who rides an EFI 700. Absolutly no contest for speed. Bikes are way, way, way faster than any production quad pf equivalent displacment (sorry its just plain physics). My lightly modified Grizzly has never even seen 75mph on a true flat course. Sorry to burst your buddies bubble.

We'll feed me peanuts and call me Dumbo. I guess that would make more sense. See where my mind goes when left alone.

NINJA25O?

That's like comparing a eton 50 to a raptor. Ninja 250's are kinda of like pocket bikes not to be taken seriously. Sorority girls ride those around college campuses. Real bikes are CBR 1000, R1, GSXR 1000, ZX10, ZX12, Hayabusa. All of these run sub 10 second 1/4 miles doing about 140ish. All of these will still have have at least one more gear left at the end of the quarter mile. The 250 might get up to 75MPH Max. This thread is about sport quads. I've ridden my Hayabusa on a dirt road very slowly and it sucks. Actually now I am thinking a Eton 50 could beat my 195 MPH sport bike if it was on dirt road(lol).

A sportsman 700 will beat most 400 and smaller cc (strike the Z) sport quads in a drag race. Especially when traction is an issue. It will also keep up on "open" trials, anything too tight or with turns or whoops and its over. My sportsman could beat my stock 400 in a drag until I modded it, now the 400 pulls away and I have beat a stock Z400.

what is a diamond G Snorkle???

where do u get these at???? (EPI Black Spring\Dalton plain White or Black and White)

Did those mods make a big diff in performance....

I hear the Dyna CDI makes a TwinPeaks pretty fast.....Z400beater anyway!

I have a z and a eiger 4x4. When I ride the 4x4 on trails I never have aproblem keeping up or staying ahead if I am in front. That is until the trail turns into a fie break or logging road then it is slow in comparison to a sport quad. also the guy who beat the sport bike, what was it and how much did he weiigh? I am 300lbs and can loose to a kid that is 135lbs riding a 250x against my z 400. Remeber with out all the facts its not possible to accuratly answer the question. Like the kid that beat me,could be telling someone on this forum how z 400s suck and his old piped and jetted 250x beat a(stock)z-400 without giving up all of the details.

Posted by: quadduck

Welcome to the forums. curls I don' t think that he ment bike as in motorcycle I think hement sport qaud.

Posted by: quadduck

I perfer cashhews

Posted by: FormulaLT1

the answer is no. i've had my sportsman goin when the speedo was burried past 60 (which is all it shows), probably to about 65, but that was going down a hill. i can get about 59 on a straightaway.

keep up with a sport bike? wow hes got some good drugs over there...if hes ever in my area ill give him a go with my gsxr and we'll see...........i can out run a quad with just second gear and hit sixty by the time our 700's are only going thirty.....so hmmmm i guess it wont..lol

i have a 04 kfx 700 and i ride with a guy who has a 700 sportsman and that thing is quick , but doesnt even come close to my kfx!

Posted by: superrancher

i think they have been talking about a sport quad at least thats what i thought! IF ITS A SPORT BIKE THERES NO WERE NEAR A COMPARISON NOT EVEN THE FASTEST DIRT BIKE COULD COMPARE! I have a 01
ZX12R and it is ridiculous fast, it runs somewhere in the high 9's @ like 140ish STOCK in the quarter.
