Right of the cuff. Ride quality will be better than the solid axle. I think yamaha was wise to add IRS to there mid size atv. If you look at the market you will see that ATV's are no longer just to haul fire wood to the house but a leisure sport. Ride is very important to riders. If your are going to ride for 4+ hours you need to be as comfortable as possible. I have have an 02 Kodiak and love it. However it is not very smooth. After 4+ hours I can't wait to get off and walk a bit. For my body I find the handle bars too low and that puts alot of weight on my shoulders and back.

I love it on the Grizzly and will be getting my wife the Kodiak in the Fall. Some people say it makes the quad more tippy, but I dissagree. It does sway a little more, but I have yet to get my Griz to come up on 2 tires and I can take some off-camber corners pretty fast. The best advantage is it makes the ride a LOT smoother.

Depending on the load size, pulling something with IRS can make the rear end squat really bad. Also, there are more moving parts to wear out or break with IRS than SRA if you're a stickler for dependability.

What do you think of the new irs? good or bad? I don't know much about irs so if someone could point out some pros and cons, that would be awesome.

well, a smoother ride sounds great, but i am one of the few who will use it to do some hard work, will the irs help or hurt me while pulling trailers and logs?
