I've been looking into replacing my stock tires as well and it seems that Dirt Devils are the best for what I'm looking for (trails, work and mud). I would say they are equal to the Mud Lights but at a cheaper price.

We have bearclaws on our 99 kodiak 400 (manual shift) and they do some impressive stuff. They are only 25"s.

Just a question, why does everybody insist on going to 27"s and 12" all around. Just curious to hear your reasons. I like the 25x12'sin the rear and 25x10s in the front. Maybe i just want to get as stuck..... You know go farther into the hole before sinking!

No PUN intended

I am about to Purchase a 04 BIg Bear 400 4x4 and stock just will not do. I am planning on putting on a High Lifter lift kit, New Wheels (undecided on what style) and some good mud tires. My Question is What tire to go with. I want to run 27-12-12 all the way around but I dont know what tire is going to work best for this bike. I know that the bike can pull a 27 ( my buddy runs 589's on his with no problem) but i dont wan to get the same tires that my friends are running ( so we can figure out what works best in our type of terrain). That leaves me looking at tires other than 589's, Mudzilla's, or Mudlites. What other tires would work good for this bike?? It will be need to be more mud than all terrian.

Yeah i am thinking about going with the Bear Claws ( 27-12-12) there a good price and i had a set years ago on an old suzuki that i had and they workeed really well then

I run 27-12's all the way around for 3 reasons, It help with floatation in deep water, More Pulling surface on the ground for more traction, And the best of all, I like the way it looks the best

Watched a friend of mine ride his Bear thru some pretty terrible stuff last night. HE had 27" DirtDevils with what looked like stock suspension. The tires didn't really impress me in the mud but he went where noone else would go.....and then came back thru it. But you would haveta know this guy.
