I thought that the locking differential locked all four wheels together. Not to bad to turn on the Prairie, but the old King Quad was a bear.

It locks the front differential so that both tires get equal and constant power. Normally you have a limited slip differential which means when you get in deep mud or snow, power will go to the tire with least resistance. Locking Dif will pull you out of some real tough stuff, but it is very hard to turn.

No, just the front. If you have a solid rear axle then you will already have equal power to both rear wheels. I think the IRS is the same but I'm not positive.

the kodiak 450 and grizzly 660 have the same locking mechanism.= tough to steer, but both will climb a barn wall if you could just hold on!
