Ahhhhh Man, you've have totally screwed your machine up! The best thing to do is sell it now while it looks new.

Honestly, I don't think you will have any problems at all. there are two theories of "breaking in" your ATV. 1. As the manual states 2. Ride it like you intend to use it.
Do a search you'll see the debate is alive and well.

I just bought a kodiak 400 about a month and a half ago and have been riding it like I normally would, from full throttle to idle. I haven't been keeping it at full throttle for too long though. Letting it off then getting on it again. I just hit 100 mi. on it and am looking at doing the first service on it. I just bought the service manual from the dealer for $65.00. They wanted $250. for the first service so I am going to do it myself. I have had no problems with it so far. (except for rolling it over) don't try powersliding on ice with tire chains it can be painfull!! 5 fractured ribs.. I have heard everything from babying it in the breakin period to riding it like you narmally would I chose the latter. Hope this helps. Good luck

Hi everybody,

I just bought a new Kodiak 400 4x4 and just got to ride it this previous weekend. After I returned from riding, I decided I would spend a little time checking out the manual. I noticed the break-in page and realized I was probably a little too rough on it. I punched the throttle but was not over half throttle most of the ride. I don't want to ruin this thing...I often accelerated and then decelerated rather fast. If anyone could tell me if this could be a problem I would appreciate it. Also, if someone could maybe give me some reassuring words (maybe someone who did the same to theirs and it works great).

Thanks a lot.
