I think MacKodiak is on the right track. Have a look at the cable it self. It may be broke inside or the gear is stripped. Keep us posted you findings may help one of us in the future.

Unscrew the cable in the back of the odometer and check to see if the square flex cable is rounded out on one end. If not take the flex cable out of the sheath and flush out the housing with WD 40. The opening in the speedo or on the drive my also be stripped.
You get the gist it is mechanical not electronic.

Like I said in the first post the odometer is mechanicle and has nothing to do with wiring. Unsrew the cable from the back of the odometer one end is stripped or your cable is broken. NOT ELECTRONIC, NO WIRING AT ALL unless the light bulb is burned out.

I have a 00 kodiak and i ride it in the winter all the time. A few weeks ago it was really cold about -33 cel. and my speedometer stoped working and it just stays at 0 all the time. I originally thought that it was the cold and it was frozen but now its around 5 celc. agian and has thawed and it still wont work. I have checked all the wiring and cant seem to find anything and really dont want to make the trip into the dealer just for the speedometer. Any ideas would be great.
