Of those three I'd rank them:

1. Ozark
2. Recon
3. Rally

We borrowed a friends Recon for my wife to ride on an ATV vacation in '99. Since then , planned on getting the Recon whenever we finally decided to buy a 'wife bike'. Then the Ozark came out. At the time, for exactly the same price, the Ozark was just a little better all around than the Recon, so we went with it with no regrets. Since then, Honda's dropped their prices a few hundred, so you may want to give the Honda a look.

I am a wife, and I have owned 2 of the three quads you're looking at. (Rally & Recon) My first choice would be the Recon - the reason I liked it over the Ozark was the fact that there is a gear indicator on the Recon. I was new to ATV's and didn't like the fact that I wasn't sure what gear I was in on the Ozark. We bought the Rally first, (and still own it). You can get on it and go - no shifting whatsoever! My only problem with it was that it didn't have enough torque for the steep climbs at H/M. The Recon just will go about anywhere - it's a Honda, so it's basically bullit-proof. For her size, you really couldn't go wrong with any of them, it's just the Recon is just a little more quad than the other two (IMO) We moved up to the Prairies and kept the Rally for our daughter. (she didn't like the electric shift on the Recon). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. (Mrs. Q)

My Wife has an Ozark, and she started out riding a Recon then a Bayou. The Recon is still in the family so comparing the 2 happens regularly. The Ozark is just a little better at everything, and so far has been just as reliable as the Recon.

There's a big difference between inexpensive and cheap. The Recon is our least-expensive utility-oriented ATV. But its quality and performance are anything but cheap.- Honda brochure.

Honda's Recon. Sometimes the most valuable tool in your toolbox isn't the biggest one. But once you've got a Recon, we bet you'll be reaching for it a lot more than any other.- Honda brochure.

It's true. The Recon is kinda simple and reliable but not cheap. Just change the oil, add some gas and go. The Ozark has gotten some better reviews but it still isn't a Recon. But either would suit your needs.

ozark is better than the recon by far

I had a recon for 5 years and never had the first problem with it. It now comes with electric shift, which would be good for a woman. My wife could never shift the foot shift, but she can handle the Foreman ES just fine. I'm sure they're all good quads. Just ride them all and choose the one that's best for her.
